Back to the 80s Radio presents: Battle of the Bands — 1986.This week, Toscano and Chang go head-to-head in an all-out 1986 music showdown featuring some of the biggest rock, pop, New Wave, and alternative songs of the year.Three rounds.Three bands each.Three songs per battle. From massive arena anthems and synth-driven classics to songs that instantly take you back to cruising on a Friday night with the radio turned all the way up, this episode is packed with the music, memories, arguments, and ridiculous commentary that made 1986 unforgettable.Of course, Chang still claims he hates New Wave music… despite somehow knowing every lyric anyway. Who had the better picks?Who won each round? And why was Chang reportedly seen in 1986 standing motionless inside a record store listening to alternative music for three straight hours? Turn it up and find out. If you grew up with cassette tapes, MTV, mall record stores, late-night radio, and waiting by the stereo to record your favorite song off the air, this episode is for you.Back to the 80s Radio — Keeping the 80s Alive.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/back-to-the-80s-radio--5883226/support.

Matthew 19:14 shows us that Jesus welcomed children as true members of His kingdom. This session will help your team shift from simply keeping kids occupied to intentionally discipling them through Scripture, relationships, and purposeful structure. You'll learn how to strengthen systems, empower volunteers as ministry leaders, and reframe your children's spaces as holy ground where real spiritual formation happens.
Kids will always want to play, and that desire is God-designed. In this session, we'll explore how play isn't a break from discipleship but a powerful pathway to wonder, curiosity, connection, and deeper spiritual growth. Discover practical ways to integrate meaningful, joyful play into your ministry so kids can engage God's truth naturally and wholeheartedly. Grounded in Proverbs 22:6, we'll reimagine ministry with less “sit still” and more intentional spaces where faith and play come alive together.

Jim Toscano and Danny Gianino, two filmmakers from Detroit, found an unexpected calling in telling the story of Mike Kunda, the world's number one Rocky fan. Their documentary, The Pretender, follows Kunda's lifelong devotion to Sylvester Stallone's iconic character — a passion that goes far beyond simple fandom. From dressing like Rocky to giving motivational tours in Philadelphia, Mike lives his life through the lens of his cinematic hero. Toscano and Gianino were drawn to the human story beneath the surface — exploring how one man's obsession with an underdog fighter became a reflection of his own struggles, identity, and dreams. The making of The Pretender was a true indie journey, filled with the unpredictability of documentary filmmaking. The directors captured Mike's life as it unfolded, balancing humor, sincerity, and raw emotion while ensuring nothing felt staged. For Toscano and Gianino, the project was more than a film — it was a creative rebirth that reminded them of the power of authentic storytelling. Ultimately, The Pretender is not just about a man imitating his hero; it's about the universal desire to find purpose and strength in the stories that move us.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/indie-film-hustle-a-filmmaking-podcast--2664729/support.
