She obtained her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from George Washington University in Washington. D.C. She did her residency training in Radiation Oncology at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes for Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She is currently practicing radiation oncology and is the Medical Director of the Integrative Medicine Program at the Aquilino Cancer Center at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville. Your Host, Dr. Vivek Patil received his bachelor's degree in Biology and his medical doctorate from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed six years of surgical training including a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery which is his sole focus of practice. While in his residency, he participated in surgical research and received the John O. Vieta, MD award for Surgical Excellence and Compassionate Care. He is board-certified in both general and colorectal surgery and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Lam, M.D., an Assistant Professor of Oncology and Director, Esophageal Cancer Research Program at Johns Hopkins, is also clinical/translational investigator with a special interest in lung cancer. Prior to joining the faculty at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Lam was on faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center and previously completed his hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Maryland. Dr. Lam’s research includes on-going efforts to develop the clinical utility of liquid biopsies in cancer. He has also led multiple early-phase immunotherapy clinical studies, including T-cell therapy trials in lung cancer. Dr. Patrick Forde is the Director of the Thoracic Cancer Clinical Research Program and Associate Professor of Oncology at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He is currently an associate member of the Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy and has acted as a lead developer of a clinical-translational research program focused on the immuno-oncology of upper aerodigestive malignancies. Dr. Forde is extremely active in research, often running multiple clinical trials at one time. His research focuses on the role of neoadjuvant anti-PD-1 therapy and other similar immunotherapies in earlier stage lung cancer and mesothelioma.Dr. Forde has also been involved in leading several international clinical trials of new immunotherapy approaches for lung cancer and mesothelioma that are currently active in Europe, Asia and North America, while also serving as the principal investigator for the thoracic cancer immunobiology biospecimen repository at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
