Today's episode is all about setting goals and the 5 main reasons I hear that people believe goal setting doesn't work  - Goal setting doesn't mean you have to set huge great goals. Making a phone call or unloading the dishwasher still counts if that's what you need to accomplish!  - "Help I don't understand what my goals actually are?" We discuss breaking everything down so you can have absolute clarity on what your purpose is and why a particular thing, goal, or achievement is important to you. When you have clarity, you are unstoppable!  - Are you connected to your goals? Do they inspire you, motivate you and push you to succeed? - Are you doing too much too soon? In today's episode, I am so happy to welcome Lindsey Fairhurst a super-skilled Virtual Assistant.  She lives in Dubai and work as a VA and also runs a hugely successful Academy for trainee VA's. Her background was as a PA and Executive assistant for Johnson and Johnson for 20 years before she moved into the virtual space when she moved to Dubai 6 years ago. After being made redundant from J&J, Lindsey decided to recreate her role as a Virtual Assistant and bring all her skills and knowledge to the online space.  It enabled her to work from anywhere and work at her own pace allowing her to work and enjoy the ex-pat life of Dubai. Lindsey talks about how she now helps support other people in their business and is the unsung hero behind the scenes. She covers diary management, admin, email management, customer service, scheduling social media and so much more. As a VA things have changed a lot in the online world and Lindsey loves adapting. Today Lindsey talks about her VA academy and how she teaches others to take on this incredible role. We talk about the cost of a VA and how it can balance out and is it worth having a VA in your business. By outsourcing some things it will enable you to work on another income-generating project or time with family. Sometimes you can't put a price on this. Welcome to today's episode. This week's episode has been recorded directly on the back of the 2022 Planner launch. In today's episode, we talk about one of my key learnings from the launch and I take you through a few of the new features of the 2022 planners. I talk about how the adrenaline when launching keeps you going and keeps you fired up. It reminds me of theatre days and putting on a show! The run-up to a press night was so intense. Launching feels so similar. Today I talk to you real and raw about the launch and how exhausted I was afterwards. Planning ahead is absolutely key! If you don't look ahead in your business things can go wrong. You want things to run smoothly. We have to plan ahead in any business that we do. When I launched I made sure no stone was unturned. We had customer interviews, we found brand ambassadors, we made sure we had every social channel covered. Nothing was left to chance. You shouldn't leave things to chance in your business. Now let's talk briefly about Christmas! Again let's plan ahead and get organised. Think about your product or business. Can you plan ahead? If you haven't thought ahead start to put a plan in place so you can maximise your business potential over the festive period. My piece of advice to you is to plan ahead so you can keep completely organised. Look ahead. Look at your next business quarter. What do you want to achieve? What can you do now to make sure you hit your goals. Let's now look at the features of the 2022 planner planners. It really helped me in my career as I grew up. Today we talk a little bit about my family and where they are from! My mum always tells me I am like her Father! He was the chief planner in the family! He was an expert!My grandfather was a classic gentleman and was very particular. He loved planning and would get 'the agenda' out weekly. We would discuss plans for the week and it was a thing we all did. When I look back I realise what an influence this has had on my life! Those family moments shaped me and my career. I couldn't have spent all those years in theatre without the level of planning and organisation that I learned from my early years. I talk about planning the Show War Horse and planning behind the scenes. Planning was in my veins. Planning and organisation was part of my makeup. Planning was a family affair. I talk about how we plan together as a family! We have done it! It's time to get the kids back to school! Where does the time go? Time flies by and the Summer holidays are nearly over! We have juggled, spun the plates and done so much! Well done to all the parents! In this episode, I am going to offer some top tips to get your kids back to school and in the mindset that we need to bring routine back into our days! How can we as parents help? Maybe try to wean the sleep times, we need to start getting them up earlier than they have been. A few days before we start to get the kids to bed earlier and then up early so they are ready! I have also labelled all the school uniforms with a Sharpie Clothes Label Pen! It's brilliant, doesn't come off in the wash and saves so much time! I used to sew or iron labels on everything but these days well….. I can't be bothered! Can you help your children learn what days they have what, so they can start to take responsibility for their activities? We have everything on a board at home so that the kids know exactly what my husband and I are doing and what they are doing so they can start to get involved in the school and activity preparation. I love helping my children establish routines. As we move into a new school year, what can you do to help your children? I encourage my daughter to use our weekly To Do list so she can use it and take responsibility.
