What is a contract? It is an agreement, which is comprised of a minimum of three distinct elements: Terms and Conditions: Here is where we set expectations.  What are we expecting to be done?Consideration: This is where we define what we are getting in return for what we are giving or doing.Length of Time: This simply states how long this agreement will be in effect.Acceptance Learn why it is important to know what you are agreeing to before you sign on the dotted line.

Episode 104: How Important Is A Mission Statement

We often confuse our gifts and talents with our purpose.  Our gifts and talents are conduits and tools in the demonstration of our purpose. What is God’s plan for you and your business?  When the world was wiped clean due to the flood, God confirmed that his mission statement had not changed.  Simply put:  He originally created the planet for man to fill and he still wanted them to do it.  The fact that he had to wipe out and start with a clean slate did not change that mission statement.

According to Genesis 2:2  “On the seventh day—with the canvas of the cosmos completed—God paused from His labor and rested.” Pay particular attention to the words paused and rested. When we think of resting from our work, we think of taking a vacation or a break from work.  That’s not what God did here. At the end of the 6th day, God was done with creating.  But he was not finished with his creation.  There is a difference.

    Episode 102: Branding 101

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 2, 2017 6:00

Within the faith based small business community - there’s a trend to attach God’s name, an aspect of his persona  or something Biblical to everything we do. When Adam named the animals, he didn’t attach God’s name to them.  When he named his wife, he didn’t attach God to her name.  He named her based on who she was and her purpose. When we name our businesses, does the brand we are seeking to create accurately reflect what we are seeking to do? Is the name of our business an accurate reflection of the services, goods or information we are seeking to provide?

Episode 101: The Power of Words

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 1, 2017 6:00

Today’s episode is entitled “The Power of Words” and answers the question: Which three words are the key to lasting success? Most of us are familiar with the concept of the Law of Attraction. There’s something far more powerful than the law of attraction and that’s the power of our words.  Scripture teaches us that we are made in the image of God.  Jesus said that we would do works greater than He.  He raised the dead, healed the sick and more. Learn the direct correlation between the words God spoke during creation and the words we speak over our businesses.

Much like you, I’ve been struggling to find the balance in my work life and focusing on God’s will for me. We see depictions of Boss Babes and Boss Chicks with chants of Girl Power, but what does that really mean?  Some of the very people you admire and view as successful are barely making ends meet and desperate for that next client or venture, while trying to balance family and/or relationships.  Others have achieved monetary goals but have difficulty maintaining them. And even more are those who appear to have it all but are lonely, because running a successful business as a solo entrepreneur often means long hours and little time for much else. That’s not how God wants us to live, Boss or not. Join me on this journey to help you become and remain successfully successful!
