Keep Looking Up with Caroline Kraddick

I am going to be incredibly transparent today. Today is a day that I dread every single year as it is a reminder of the worst day of my life. The day I lost my best friend, my confidant, my biggest supporter and role model. My dad. Being able to have the Kidd Kraddick Legacy Month on @klupodcast has been incredibly emotional yet cathartic. These conversations have given me something to look forward to instead of that feeling of impending doom that I usually feel so I'm incredibly grateful to be sharing these with you all. My dad was known for his humor, creativity and kindness but as we've discussed in previous episodes, Kidd had a talent for finding and cultivating young talent. So it was no surprise that what started out as a radio bit that resembled “Making The Band” turned into an actual real boy band that opened for major artists like Janet Jackson and Destiny's Child. Dr. J Mack Slaughter was the youngest member of that band and someone I have known since I was a little girl completely enamored with all the boys in the band that my dad created. J Mack's journey with Sons of Harmony led him to LA where he was incredibly successful, landing numerous television shows and a movie with Kenan Thompson. Even though he was at the top of his game, J Mack felt incredibly unfulfilled so after some soul searching, he left his life in LA to move back to Texas. To pursue a career in emergency medicine. Betcha didn't see that one coming! J credits my dad for his career in medicine and we had the most beautiful conversation about my dad's impact on him. To make things even more full circle, my dad's death brought us both back to music, playing together for numerous gigs benefiting Kidd's Kids or just for fun with my old band CC & the Dad Bods.

Greetings... you're now entering This Thing Of Minds Podcast with your hosts, thee Astonishing Adonis G'Baby, the Unbiased Thinker Sativa Da Diva, and your Internet Cousin PopItForMilt This week's episode, the crew discuss the latest 'news' from the entertainment world. A transgendered woman spoke about her experiences with rapper Kevin Gates. No one in the crew was shocked when we heard the news, this kinda fits Kevin Gates. Though we're not surprised, we still had to laugh at the story. (we're equal opportunity roasters over here!) Adam22 is pivoting his podcast towards political conversations as opposed to his normal hip-hop based podcast. Some people call that a 'culture vulture' (shout out to Dame Dash!) while others call it 'leveling up'. We seen this movie before, somebody gets 'on' through hip-hop then pivot to a different market. Well, not somebody, white people. We discussed the artists/people that has used hiphop as a spring board to get on then desert the culture once they've moved on. Eminem is NOT one of them! As fans of Ciara, we showed a lil appreciation to her artistry. And as fans of her, we had to give constructive criticism of her latest efforts. See, you gotta start with love so the critique isn't viewed as hate. Though CiCi ain't where she was, it seems like other people's critique is a lil extra. 'Body Party' is still a slap, you can ask Sativa ! What would B.E.T. look like if Diddy purchased it? We discussed the possible T.V. shows that Diddy can revive based of the networks past work. Hell Date? College Hill? Or what about the shows he did in the past? Making The Band? The 4? Run's House? One thing we do know is, The Breakfast Club is joining B.E.T. in the coming weeks. So it looks like B.E.T. is already moving towards the future. Congrats to those guys! Blac Chyna has rebranded her image by removing her fake body to a more natural look. We discussed if she parlayed her position as a Kardashian baby mama. Because the baby mamas of today got cosmetic lines and reality shows. Maybe she came out at the wrong time or she didn't have the hustle like the India's and Ari's. Either way, good luck to Angela. But we have to ask, is BBL's over with? The funniest president of the United States of America has been indicted on 134 counts. What counts you ask? We don't know, we just know that Donnie tried to pay off Stormy and now he in hot water. We don't wish jail on no body but we did go through some hypotheticals on Trump's time in prison. He in there with his Secret Service men playing rec ball by himself. The whole Aryan Nation gone feel like the MAN in there. Wait. Say what you want about Donald Trump, this man is entertainment like a muthaf*cka! We talk about other things too, it's sprinkled in there throughout our conversation. Hope yall enjoy! It is a Boy Band Christmas here today Behind The Velvet Rope as 98 Degrees' Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons Justin Jeffre, O-Town's Erik-Michael Estrada, All For One's Jamie Jones and Mr. Ryan Cabrera stop by to mention it all!! The Boy Bands are in the house! The guys chat about each of their respective careers, hits, highs and lows of the music biz and just what we can expect the rest of December as they continue to tour the county for their epic Boy Band Christmas extravaganza. On a personal note, we chat about 98 Degrees missing fellow band member Nick Lachey as he sits this one out in Hawaii with wife Vanessa, discuss Ryan Cabrera's wedding earlier this year to WWE champ Alexa Bliss and break down whether Erik and the rest of O-Town would ever tour or record again with Ashley Parker Angel. With enough reality TV credits between them to fill programming on the entire Bravo network, we deep dive some of our favs - The Hills (sorry Ryan), DWTS (congrats on the Mirror Ball Drew), Making The Band (the show that started it all for Erik) and Love Is Blind, The Ultimatum and The Masked Singer (just because Nick is not here does not mean we cannot talk about him). On a serious note, we talk about the shocking loss of Aaron Carter a few weeks back and the benefit concert in his honor we can expect next month. Finally, we talk what new music we can expect from each, the brilliance of Harry Styles and how Justin Timberlake and a certain Spice Girl have an open invite to join them on this, or any future incarnation of A Boy Band Christmas.
