Alli and Jen speak with Jason Marshall, a veteran player of the MMO 'EVE Online' about the game's 15-year-old player-run space graveyard. The Molea cemetery has been operating since 2004, and not only contains the frozen corpses of killed space pilots, but graves that mark the deaths of lost loved ones in real life — friends, family members, pets, and other players. In June of this year, the developers of 'EVE' formally recognized this player accomplishment by adding a massive, permanent memorial to the system. Marshall explains how the cemetery got started, why players care so much about transporting their clone corpses to virtual graves, how the team fended off attacks from the notorious Goonswarm Alliance, and the first time a player requested a grave for a real person.

We pick-up in this lesson with the Temple construction being completed: 1KI 6:14 So Solomon built the temple and completed it. 15 He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of pine. 16 He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place. 17 The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long. 18 The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen. The physical Solomon's Temple was designed and furnished to God's EXACT specifications for the particular purpose of describing the path of Salvation that Jesus would traverse to purchase a people to be God's own possession. Amazingly, It also is designed in its layout to map into the real temple God desires to dwell in - the human beings, HE made in His very image for this purpose! These are only of the group that are chosen and called into into full fellowship with God for eternity, These people - the church - are to rule and reign as the bride of The Savior who became flesh among us - the 'Eve' to Jesus' 'Adam' - through the Gospel of salvation in Him alone. THESE people EACH become the Temple of God as God dwells in them permanently. Enjoy this key lesson with us as we endeavor to properly understand the architecture chosen by God for His dwelling place, at first among, and then in the last days, in His chosen people on the earth. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/biblestudyweekly/message

There's so much in the chapter - we are introduced to the two famous trees, the rivers, the naming of the animals and, at last, the creation of "woman." But why exactly was "woman" (she isn't yet named 'Eve') created? Are there common misunderstandings about this today? What does it mean for discussions around "gender" today, if anything? And what does all this mean for a robust vision of humanity, work, and gender partnership in the world? Join me for an exploration of all these questions, in only 10 minutes.

This was one of the most interesting, thoughtful and funny conversations we've had. We spoke to Chris Coyier about dogmatism (the expression of an opinion or belief as if it were a fact) in the web industry. We talked about why it happens, what we can to do be less dogmatic ourselves and how to deal with dogmatic people and their bombastic opinions. Our Toolstar this week was CodePen Projects, zero setup, full-featured front end web development environment, right in the browser. Chris talked us through it, and it sounds pretty great. We like all the CodePen things. It was a diverse Jukebox this week. I chose 'A Tender History In Rust' by Do Say Make Think. Ben chose 'Eve' by Anchorsong, it's very Ben. And Chris chose 'The Stable Song' by Gregory Alan Isakov, and had a very cool story of meeting him IRL. How did the festival of Halloween -- literally the 'Eve of All Hallows Day' -- which is celebrated on 31 October enter the Christian calendar? And how has it gained a new popularity today when its Christian roots are all but forgotten? These are the questions examined in this video.
Bet you never heard this combination walk into a bar at once, eh? This week we have more movies of both new(ish) and classic varieties. We also start off the show addressing something we forgot to mention in our talk on the Lopez underground classic The Boy Next Door, and then get into the following: 1) Jupiter Ascending (6:00) 2) Snowpiercer (20:35) 3) Point Blank (1967) (38:40) 4) All About Eve (1950) (45;20) Clips from the first three films & trailers featured, also the 'Eve; score by Alfred Newman.
