There's a new supreme leader of Iran and he's the son of the former Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. But Mojtaba might also be assassinated like his father.US president Donald Trump said earlier if his administration doesn't approve, the Ayatollah's successor won't last long.It means the hard-line regime remains in control despite the US and Israel hoping for change as it continues bombing the country.Meanwhile oil prices have surpassed $100 US a barrel for the first time in more than three and a half years as the war creates supply issues. The Federal Government's under pressure to offer protection to the Iranian soccer team, due to fears they'll be persecuted when they return home from Australia. The team didn't sing the national anthem after one of their Asian Cup games and it attracted fierce criticism from the regime. The team's management is also accused of breaching human rights by not letting players speak to the media. There's been plenty of discussion this morning about a proposed new visitor charge at one of Australia's most well-known destinations, the 12 Apostles. The Victorian Government's going to consult with local groups to figure out what the tourist tax should be, but insists locals won't have to pay.About six million visitors see the 12 Apostles every year and the fee will be spent on tourism infrastructure along the stretch of famous coast.
In Matthew 10, Pastor Karl highlights a pivotal transition in Jesus' ministry, where the disciples move from merely observing and admiring Him to being sent out as active participants in His mission. Jesus calls the Twelve, empowers them with authority to heal, cast out demons, and proclaim the kingdom of heaven, and then commissions them to go first to the lost sheep of Israel. This chapter marks a hinge point in the Gospel: following Jesus is not just about learning His teachings or attending gatherings—it demands responsibility, urgency, and full participation in sharing the good news.Jesus is strikingly honest about the cost. He instructs the disciples to travel light, relying completely on God's provision rather than personal security or contingency plans, emphasizing that dependence on Him is central to discipleship. He warns of inevitable resistance: they will face opposition from culture, religious leaders, and even family members, as allegiance to Him can divide households and bring persecution. Yet, Jesus promises divine help—the Spirit will speak through them in moments of trial—and calls for wise, innocent endurance, urging believers to flee persecution when possible not for self-preservation, but to reach more people with the gospel.Ultimately, Pastor Karl challenges the church: a faith that costs nothing accomplishes nothing. The true disciple pledges exclusive allegiance to Jesus, accepting the responsibility to live as radical image-bearers of Christ in the world, no matter the personal price. This message confronts comfort-seeking Christianity and invites every listener to decide if Jesus is worth the cost of true following.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
Knowing that a plot was being formed against him, Jesus, with His disciples withdrew to the sea. Great crowds followed Him from 7 different regions. So, a boat was prepared for the the Lord that He might teach from it. However, once again, unclean spirits were yelling out who He was. But Jesus shut them up.Mark next presents, our Lord as choosing his 12 apostles, which are all named. He chose them to be with Him, first of all. He then gives them the commission followed by the authority to fulfill it.Then Mark tells us that Jesus was so busy, he did not have time to eat. And His family thought He had lost His senses so they set out to take Him home.Let's turn to Mark 3:6 with Dr. Mitchell. Your listening to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.
In this Bible study, Fr. Matthias Shehad examines key events from the Gospels focusing on Sabbath laws and the selection of the 12 Apostles. He explores the incident where Jesus' disciples pluck grain on the Sabbath, explaining its alignment with Old Testament law and the deeper purpose of Sabbath observance as serving humanity rather than imposing burdens. Fr. Matthias also discusses the healing of the man with the withered hand on the Sabbath, highlighting Jesus' teaching that doing good and saving life are lawful even on the Sabbath. The study concludes with an overview of the official appointment and naming of the 12 Apostles, detailing their backgrounds, roles, and the authority given to them by Christ to preach, heal, and cast out demons. Fr. Matthias emphasizes the mission of Jesus as servant and teacher whose work extended to both Jews and Gentiles, setting the stage for the spread of the Gospel. Matthew 10 is the second time Matthew writes Jesus' teaching as a full non stop discourse. The Sermon on the mount chapters 5-7 was the first time.Chapter 10 is the second teaching section of Jesus. Before we finish the book of Matthew, he will have recorded 5 separate sections of Jesus' teachings. In chapter 10 of Matthew, Dr. Mitchell corrects a misunderstanding some Christians have about this chapter. He will point out the fact that the twelve disciples became apostles who were then to go only to the lost sheep of Israel and not to the gentiles of that time. They were to preach the gospel of the kingdom.Their mission changes after the cross and the resurrection when they would go into all the nations and preach the gospel of the grace of God.Open to Matthew 10 with Dr. Mitchell on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

In this episode of On Mission, Sarah Harrigan Scalfaro, Chris Pierno, and Fr. Frank Donio, S.A.C. are joined by Joe Basalla to discuss who the Twelve Apostles were, the role they served, and their memory in today's church. The twelve apostles are Peter, Andrew, James (son of Zebedee), John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James (son of Alphaeus), Thaddeus, Simon (the Zealot), and Judas (who betrayed Jesus and Matthias replaced him). After Jesus' Ascension, these men became the first bishops of the Church and traveled the known world spreading the Gospel. Most of them were martyred for the faith. Their witness is an example to us to carry the same zeal in our lives to bring Christ and his message to all that we meet. Some Saints Mentioned:The Apostles' biosSts. After Jesus Cruxifiction the earth was covered in darkness for 3 days. Several Nephites had gathered to the temple remembering the prophecies of the prophets that Christ would come. They heard the voice of Heavenly Father 3 times. They felt it inside their hearts. The Savior came down from Heaven. They got to see Him and feel his hands and feet. He then called 12 apostles and gave them power to baptize the people after he returned back to heaven. He then taught the people. Someday Jesus will come again.

Who were the 12 Apostles? Well, they weren't the sort of men you would expect. They weren't the sort of men that anyone would expect. THE 12 APOSTLES. Jesus picked these 12 ordinary men to follow Him and witness to His ministry on earth. After the Resurrection, He visited them to reassure them of His love, and to strengthen their faith. And when they were filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, they became the foundation of the Church, which even the gates of hell cannot prevail against.
