Shift workers are being warned about the impact on their health. Research shows irregular work hours in young adulthood can have a negative health impact later in life. Shift workers are more likely to have fewer hours of sleep per day, lower sleep quality, and lower physical and mental functions. A new study shows a majority of adults hit the snooze button in the morning. The study of 1500 people found young people were more likely to sleep after their alarms go off. Dr Alex Bartle from the SleepWell Clinic says people should set alarms for when they need to get up. "Give yourself five or ten minutes just to come through- not so you go back to sleep again."
