On episode 31 of #ThatPodcast, LPiddy and Jon Jon spill all the tea on the two events that are taking over social media: Rupaul's Drag Race and Tanacon. LPiddy and Jon Jon do a Rucap on Season 10 of Rupaul's Drag Race. They use their new shade button from World of Wonder Productions. The hosts kiki about the Drag Race Reunion and Grand Finale, on VH1, at the Theater at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The Top Four Queens, Aquaria, Eureka O'Hara, Asia O'Hara and Kameron Michaels, did a sudden death Lipsync for the Crown. Ultimately, Aquaria took the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. There was also a special appearance by all of the Season 1 queens of Rupaul's Drag Race, including Bebe Zahara Benet, Nina Flowers, Rebecca Glasscock, Shannel, Ongina, Jade Sotomayer, Akashia and Victoria "Porkchop" Parker. For unknown reasons, Tammie Brown was not at the Finale. The Season 10 queens of Rupaul's Drag Race killed it this season. Shoutout to the Season's queens, Aquaria, Eureka O'Hara, Kameron Michaels, Asia O'Hara, Miz Cracker, Monet X. Change, The Vixen, Monique Heart, Blair St. Clair, Mayhem Miller, Dusty Ray Bottoms, Yuhua Hamasaki, Kalorie Karbdashian Williams and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Then, LPiddy and Jon Jon follow up on their previous podcast about Tanacon. TanaCon was to take place June 22 and 23, 2018 at the Anaheim Marriott Suites in Anaheim/Garden Grove, California, a short distance from the controversial Vidcon, which was being held in the Anaheim Convention Center, in, of course, Anaheim, California. TanaCon was supposed to be the more inclusive version of Vidcon, due to creator's frustration with safety concerns last year. The irony is that TanaCon was shut down by the Fire Marshall and Anaheim Fire Department due to large crows, riots and, ultimately, safety. According to tweets and reports, TanaCon sold about 5000 non-paid and paid tickets to this year's event. Later reports indicate that over 4000 of the tickets sold were paid VIP badges. Tons of teens swarmed the quaint Anaheim Marriott, with many fans waiting hours to either get into a tight convention or never get in at all. Many are reporting dehydration and sun burns. Shane Dawson created a three-part documentary on the Tanacon disaster. He interviews the two crucial components in this event, Good Times' CEO Michael Weist and Tanacon YouTuber Tana Mongeau. We recommend you check it out on YouTube. Check out Episode 31 of That Podcast to hear LPiddy and Jon Jon dish on Rupaul's Drag Race and Shane Dawson's Docuseries on Tanacon! The irony is that TanaCon was shut down by the Fire Marshall and Anaheim Fire Department due to large crows, riots and, ultimately, safety. This week, Travel Today with Peter Greenberg comes from the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, California. Joining the program this week is Orange County Register Columnist, Marla Jo Fisher, who talks about her secrets to Disneyland, and a sobering statistic involving growing crowds: it is estimated that 1 million people now have annual passes. Speaking of Disney fanatics, Peter Greenberg is joined by Julie Mooney and Emily Sims, cofounders of Magic Kingdom Mamas, who discuss their secrets of visiting Disneyland to beat those crowds. Bruno Serato, chef of the historic landmark Anaheim White House Restaurant, tells his story of how a conversation with his mother inspired him to found a nonprofit that feeds 3,500 kids a night. He also discusses how he’s still feeding more than 4,000 kids a day, even after a fire destroyed his legendary restaurant. There’s all of this and more as Travel Today with Peter Greenberg comes from the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, California.

Whether it is an up and coming independent podcaster teaching you what they've learned, or a high profile podcasting star telling you what it takes to get to the next level, these keynote talks are entertaining and inspiring!Individual Breakout SessionMost sessions at Podcast Movement are considered individual breakout sessions. Each session is a part of a specific track and skill level, with a focus on a specific subject that fits within that track category. For example, in 2015 Lea Thau of Strangers had an amazing session on storytelling, which would be considered a breakout session on the Content Creation Track.Networking RoundtablesYou asked for it, you got it! You wanted more small group opportunities to have open conversations with fellow attendees, and we've got just the thing. These roundtable discussions will be lead by industry experts and leaders, but it is up to you and the others at your tables to guide the conversation, and get the most out of the session!Panel DiscussionsOne of the best things about Podcast Movement is the element of collaboration, and learning from others. Usually there is a moderator that will guide that discussion, and also facilitate Q&A from audience members.Solutions StagesIn 2017 we're excited to announce the debut of two solution stages, which will find their home in the amazing new Expo Hall. Ad injection is when you earn money from audio and visual ads getting automatically placed throughout an episode at different intervals. These ads are provided by our trusted partners. Our new Revenue Sharing program allows ads to be automatically inserted into both downloaded episodes and stitched onto on-demand streaming.Every time an ad gets an impression, meaning that it was listened to by your audience, you’ll earn a specific amount of money. In Spreaker’s case, you’ll get 65% per Cost per impression or CPM (1,000 impressions), depending on a variety of factors, like who is providing the ad.It’s automatic. But here is the really smart bit:You remain totally in control of the exact conditions of the ad insertion, which you can edit at any time. Our new system allows to choose:The position of the ad (pre-rolls and/or post-rolls)How many ads to include and how often. The maximum duration of the ad to be injected Listener Comments:Chris TopThe logo looks great. If you are going to engage in any of these platforms that have a super low barrier to entry, it is also your responsibility to learn how to build your own audience. As a matter of fact, building your audience should be part of your content creation process. Who are you creating content for? Why would they listen? You can just about find any audience on the internet if you do your homework. And finding an audience doesn't mean that you have millions of viewers after creating 3 half-assed episodes. Building a loyal audience is often slow and painful in the very beginning -- and that's ok. So there is no problem with discoverability on the part of minorities or non-minorities (I hate using the word minority...). It's about knowing how to build your audience. Educate your people on how to find you. I listen to podcasts on apps on my phone, YouTube, blog posts, etc. So while people may not be looking for podcasts in particular, they do consume media on other platforms. This weekend something happened that really angered Matt Cox. You'll hear all about it after we've listened to I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again from April 18 1966 and it will replace our usual documentary. Whether you agree or disagree with Mr. Cox we hope that you'll at least lend him your ear. Matt has applied to speak on podcasting with a disability at this summer's podcast movement convention in Anaheim. Whether he gets it or not remains to be seen but we hope to see you this summer in August at the Anaheim Marriott. Please don't worry we get to feeling better with Embassy Lark from May 31 of 1966 and we learn of a Dutiful Son in Have His Carcass. Please enjoy.

Walt Disney's fascination with steam locomotives takes center stage this week as Mousetalgia visits Walt's Barn in Griffith Park to learn more about Disney's love of trains. From his childhood chasing trains in Marceline, through his home steam engine at Carolwood, to the trains his studio built for the Disney parks - you'll get a crash course on why Walt was so moved by the notion of live steam from docent Doug Marsh from the Carolwood Society about Disney's trains and the current exhibition at Walt's Barn, "The Trains of Disneyland." Then, Mousetalgia is pleased to welcome William "Sully" Sullivan to the show to talk about his 40-year career with the Disney company, which Sully started as a Jungle Cruise skipper at Disneyland in 1955 and ended as Vice President of the Magic Kingom park as a Disney Legend with two windows on Main Steet at WDW. Sully talks about working at Disneyland, the New York World's Fair, at the Magic Kingdom, and much more. Plus, a review of the Anaheim Marriott, more D23 Expo prep - and more! Also, Mousetalgia plans to have a listener meet during the D23 Expo on Saturday, August 15 at 8:00 p.m. Details are still being finalized, so follow Mousetalgia on Twitter or Facebook for the latest information.
