DOLE Whip Now Has its Own Disney Day of CelebrationFun Facts About Dole WhipDole Whip is a soft-serve dairy free and gluten free frozen dessert created by the Dole Food Company in 1984. Since 2013 it has been fully vegan. It first appeared as an attraction in the Disneyland Enchanted Tiki Room. According to the official Dole website, a 2/3 cup serving of Dole Whip contains 110 calories and 25-27 carbs (depending on the flavor). Remember, the make-at-home Dole Whip recipe that Disney published in 2020 during lockdown is not the real Dole Whip recipe. The real one is made with powder from Dole, plus water and the machine that combines the two into frozen goodness. Dole Whip used to be somewhat exclusive and very much a Disney thing to many people, but that's now changed and you can get official Dole Whip in more and more places outside of Disney Parks -- including our local movie theatre in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.Dole Whip Day is officially July 21, but the Dole Whip flavor extravaganza will continue through July 24. Going forward Disney plans to hold Dole Whip Day on the third Thursday in July – so if you want to plan your WDW vacation around Dole Whip, you now know which dates to book.Walt Disney World Resort Magic Kingdom Park Aloha Isle (Located in Adventureland) Pineapple Float: DOLE pineapple juice served with a choice of DOLE Whip, vanilla soft-serve, or swirl (available with Tiki Sipper for additional cost) Raspberry Swirl Float: DOLE Whip and raspberry swirl served with DOLE pineapple juice Pineapple Upside-Down Cake served with choice of DOLE Whip, vanilla soft-serve, or swirl DOLE Whip Cup: Choice of DOLE Whip, vanilla soft-serve, or swirl Coconut Cup: Choice of coconut or coconut and DOLE Whip swirl Raspberry Swirl Cup: DOLE Whip and raspberry swirl Storybook Treats (Located in Fantasyland) Soft-serve Cup: DOLE Whip lime, chocolate, or vanilla soft-serve, or swirl in a cup Snow White Cone: DOLE Whip lemon in a blue cone garnished with a chocolate bird and sugar bow Sunshine Tree Terrace (Located in Adventureland; Rows upon rows of lush, fragrant trees as far as the eye can see. Once upon a time, a man named Walt Disney walked through this very grove and admired the sunlight peeking through the branches, the bright-floral scent, the sprawling vastness of it all… He walked, and he admired, and he imagined what it could be. But instead of seeing the forest for the trees, he saw a castle with gleaming spires. He saw snow-capped mountains, tropical hideaways, and winding rivers. He envisioned a place that would preserve the tangible beauty of the natural world, intertwined with the fantasy, hope and adventure of a fairytale come to vivid life. He began to sketch in his mind's eye a place where dreamers of all ages could find light in the darkness, joy in the journey, and Magic in every moment. And so Disneyland was realized from that place of pause. From a quiet moment of reflection came generations of incomprehensible joy, laughter, memories, and inspiration. Today, we celebrate that unlikely beginning, and the timeless narrative that is still being written Here inside this living storybook. We come together beneath the stars to swim through oceans and fly off to Neverland, to travel across the Pridelands and sail across frozen fjords in search of the incomparable feeling of joyful nostalgia. Disneyland is a haven for the childlike spirit, a place to feel carefree when the strains of the world are heavy. It is a place to find Walt's promise evermore fulfilled - that all who come to this happy place will find Magic in abundance. And on this Magic night, as a spell of glimmering, shimmering light and color dances across the sky, we are reminded of that humble orange grove. We call to mind for a moment the unforgettable person who walked between the trees that once stood in this very space, and imagined something that would be forever known to generations of dreamers as Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth. Be Here, and step into the Magic.

There is no word on when or if they will go back on sale. Speculation online thinks that this is because of the impending lawsuit around reservations and access tied to the Magic Key program. Even more speculation online thinks that the program may get reworked again before going back on sale. Only time will tell. – https://www.micechat.com/323209-disneyland-news-magic-key-locked-new-ca-resident-ticket-offer/ For Weeklyteers who are going to the park and who aren't Magic Keyholders, there is a great ticket deal available! California residents can purchase summer tickets to Disneyland starting as low as $83 per day. The ticket is a 3-day, one park per day ticket for $249 for Monday through Thursday admission, with weekend tickets starting at $299. For $60 more per ticket, park hopping can be added. Tickets are valid for trips from June 3th and September 15th, 2022. Not a bad value to get to see all the nighttime entertainment that has returned. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/31/new-ticket-deal-announced-for-select-disneyland-guests/ Star Wars Celebration was this past weekend across the street from the Disneyland Resort at the Anaheim Convention Center. A lot of Star Wars news was announced, even some parks news! Boba Fett and Fennec Shand were announced to be coming to Star Wars: Galaxys Edge, and then they were there over the weekend. Din Djarin, better known as The Mandalorian, and Grogu, better known as the Child were also announced to be showing up in the area soon. This is a break from the strict timeline that Imagineering has placed on the area, but promise that the characters from the different eras will not interact or be in the same area at the same time. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/13175/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_May_31__June_5_2022#news3 Anyone who has been to Oga's Cantina in Star Wars Galaxys Edge will know DJ Rex spinning tunes for the patrons of the establishment. Soon, guests can listen to some of his tracks on a new album that will be released. No firm date at the moment, but we will keep you updated once we see it online. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/27/videos-dj-r3x-from-disneys-ogas-cantina-is-releasing-an-album/ Signs outside of the Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland tease the return of the combined museum/store/photo op. No word yet on when this will reopen, but Cast Members are stationed outside of the location telling guests it should be returning soon. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ This past weekend, Fantasmic! returned to the Rivers of America to delight guests once again. The projections look clear and bright, the show scenes look fresh, and the show was amazing as always. The best way to get a great seat for the show is to book the River Belle Terrace dining package for $50 per guest, since they are using the same reserved seating area that the Blue Bayou usually uses. Once the Blue Bayou reopens, this area is expected to be shifted to the side more to accommodate the Blue Bayou guests. The Hungry Bear location is across from the Haunted Mansion and offers a side viewing angle for the show. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ June is here, which means that the busy summer season has started at Disneyland. The Disneyland Forever fireworks show will now play nightly with fireworks 7 days a week. During the non-summer and holiday season, Mickey's Mix Magic was played with projections only during the week, with fireworks on the weekends only. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Last week, the most popular attraction in Disney California Adventure had an incident that has caused it to be closed ever since. Video online showed one of the cars on the outside racetrack portion of the attraction stopped and smoking. Though the vehicle never caught fire, the guests in the vehicle were buckled in with smoke coming from the rear. Cast Members did get out to the guests and exit them from the vehicle with no injuries. Disney has closed the attraction to investigate the incident to ensure it won't happen again. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ In Downtown Disney, food trucks have taken up residence by the old ESPN building to help feed hungry guests. These food trucks are expected to be there until at least July 4th. This is a great idea since the Earl of Sandwich is gone and there is a lack of affordable dining options, especially for larger families. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Guests staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel can enjoy one of the hotel amenities again. The pool has finally reopened after a lengthy refurbishment. None of the stores or restaurants are open yet at the location, but it is great to have the pool open so guests don't have to walk over to the Disneyland Hotel to use their pool. – https://www.micechat.com/322984-disneyland-news-racers-fantasmic-star-wars/ Discussion Topic: DLWeekyl Vault: Former Aladdin a Musical Spectacular Genie Dylan Website – http://www.dylanwhite.com/ Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/itsdylanwhite/ Aladdin a Musical Spectacular Final Performance – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enW48NlXRj4

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock met with community leaders recently talking about exciting changes coming to the resort, and this was one of the previously unannounced updates. The Pixar theme will change over time as new Disney-Pixar movies come out to keep the hotel fresh for guests. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/news-from-the-disneyland-resort-upcoming-pixar-plans-big-foodie-news-and-more/ The updated hotel theme wasn't the only thing Ken talked about! Last week, Disneyland's Royal Theatre in Fantasyland resumed story telling of Beauty and the Beast and Tangled. The Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge experience is coming back soon. Guests get a choice of entree with side, dessert selection, unlimited soft drinks, bottled water, or hot chocolate and a good view to see the fireworks from the second floor of the Star Wars Launch Bay. The dining package is $60 and non-refundable if fireworks are cancelled. – https://www.micechat.com/320733-disneyland-news-more-entertainment-more-construction-more-reservations/ We have been lamenting the loss of the trees from the Pirates of the Caribbean queue that were taken out a few weeks ago. Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. This week in Disney News, Disneyland announced the Main Street Electrical Light Parade, Disneyland Forever, and World of Color coming back to Disneyland on April 22, and Fantasmic will return May 28. Across the country, Flower and Garden in Epcot starts on March 2. The menu this year sees the return of a lot of favorites along with some exciting new delicacies! Several rides are going to be moving off of Lightning Lane and to Disney Genie+ including Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain, and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Rail. And the big news this week is the media embargo ended on the media previews, so there's tons of information out there finally about the Galactic Starcruiser, and real experiences (however, they were all free experiences without the hefty price tag, so keep that in mind). This week, we talk about the plausibility of various fan theories about your favorite Disney films and rate them from 1-5 ears. Is there some secret government conspiracy to protect the identities of the littlest Incredibles? Is Moana actually dead? Are the toys in Toy Story a manifestation of their owner's personalities? Tune in to find out more about these interesting theories and to hear a few more. Then let us know on our Facebook, Enchanted Ears Podcast, if you agree with our ratings. Thank you for listening in and as always, have a magical week! Check us out on Facebook and Youtube or submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode or support us on Patreon.
Shannon, Pete, and Sue discuss temporary changes to Disney's Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions, return dates for nighttime entertainment at Disneyland Resort, and two new dining discounts at Walt Disney World for eligible DVC Members. Changes to Genie+ Lightning Lane Attractions Effective February 25th through August 7th at Walt Disney World, Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway will move to Genie+ Lightning Lane and no longer be offered as Individual Lightning Lane selections. There are no changes to early theme park entry for resort guests. Source: Disney World website Return Dates Announced for Nighttime Entertainment at Disneyland Resort On April 22, 2022, the “Main Street Electrical Parade” and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular will return to Disneyland park, and “World of Color” will return to Disney California Adventure park. “Fantasmic!” is preparing for its return to Disneyland park on May 28, 2022. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the “Main Street Electrical Parade”, this nighttime spectacular will return with an all-new, enchanted grand finale that celebrates the theme of togetherness. This universal theme is reflected in the creative concept of the grand finale sequence. Inspired by both the original design of classic “Main Street Electrical Parade” floats and Disney Legend Mary Blair's iconic art style on “it's a small world,” the new grand finale brings to life more than a dozen Disney Animation and Pixar stories. These stories will be interpreted in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sound, with unique representations of beloved characters as animated dolls. As the new grand finale passes by, guests along each side of the parade route will see a different set of stylized scenes from classic and contemporary favorite stories such as “Encanto,” “The Jungle Book,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” “Aladdin,” “Coco,” “Mulan,” “Brave,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more. Raya, from Raya and the Last Dragon will make her debut at Disneyland for the celebration as well. The Lunar New Year runs January 21st through February 13th. Starting March 4th and running through April 26th, the Food and Wine Festival will return. Sip and Savor passes will be offered for both celebrations. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/12/fan-favorite-limited-time-festivals-return-to-the-disneyland-resort-in-2022-lunar-new-year-and-disney-california-adventure-food-wine-festival/ As we have been covering for a few weeks now, Jessica Rabbit is taking over Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. Last week, Jessica Rabbit, dressed in her best detective outfit, made her appearance in the attraction. A new figure was placed next to the car trunk that she used to be inside of, then where she held the sledgehammer, she has been changed over to the new look, and finally, her silhouette has been updated in the queue to reflect the new look. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/12/11/photos-new-detective-jessica-rabbit-animatronic-debuts-at-disneyland/ and https://www.micechat.com/309922-roger-rabbit-cover-up-at-disneyland-jessicas-new-starring-role/ The Disability Access Service, better known as “DAS” has been improved! Starting with visits on December 20th, guests who utilize the service can pre-register for the service virtually with a Cast Member. To do this, guests use a live video chat feature as early as 30 days prior to their visit, but no less than 2 days before arrival. Guests can then book up to two one-hour return windows for select experiences, per day in advance. In the future, Disney says that guests enrolled in the system will be able to same-day self-select an attraction, without having to visit with guest relations. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/12/07/guests-can-now-virtually-pre-register-for-disneylands-disability-access-service/ It was great to be able to ride it's a small world on it's first day of operation for the holiday season, but it took a lot of work to get it open! The Disney Parks Blog documented the process. The underground maintenance room of the attraction, known as “the pit” flooded on November 10th, while refilling was underway. Almost all of the ride control machinery is in the pit, and was submerged in at least 7 feet of water. Twenty different teams sprung into action to get the attraction working again. They set a timeline of 4 weeks to get it operational again. More than 200,000 gallons of water needed to be pumped out of the pit before teams could even begin to determine the damage. Teams worked to determine what could be cleaned and salvaged, and what needed to be replaced. Many of the spare parts which they could use were stored in the same pit. The team reached out to small world attractions around the world to get the needed parts. They met the goal of under 4 weeks and reopened the attraction on December 6th. The timeline was expected to be several months under normal conditions. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/12/how-disneyland-resort-cast-rallied-to-open-its-a-small-world-holiday/ We saw first hand how the launch of the Genie system in Disneyland went last week. The first hour or so worked well as we were able to buy our Genie+ service, and make a couple of Lightning Lane reservations for Guardians and Midway Mania. We were even able to mobile order some food and have a lot of PhotoPass photos taken. About an hour into the day, the entire system went mostly unresponsive. The free Genie service to plan the day only displayed an error, and reservations for Lightning Lane attractions could not be made. Even the Lightning Lane+ pay-per-attraction options were not available. However, around 5pm, the system seemed to come back online and continued to work for us perfectly until the end of the night. Even the couple hours the next morning, the free portion of the service seemed to be working well. – https://www.micechat.com/309918-disneyland-update-genie-fail-entertainment-holiday/ If, like us, you were in the parks on December 10th for the launch of Genie+, and you used the service, you may have received an email from Disneyland. The email states that they are “working to provide recovery” for the launch. Not exactly sure what that means at this time, but it is possible that Disney will either refund guests, or provide some other perk for the inconvenience. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/12/13/select-disneyland-genie-users-to-be-provided-recovery/ A new Star Wars photo opportunity has come to Downtown Disney. Next to the Star Wars Trading Post, there are two new displays for The Book of Boba Fett, the new Disney+ show coming later this month. The first is a throne that Boba can be seen sitting on in the trailer for the new show. The second is a sand crawler, which fans will know from the original movies and the Mandalorian. – https://www.micechat.com/309918-disneyland-update-genie-fail-entertainment-holiday/ A strange construction project that drew a lot of attention has finally been completed. The right side of the walkway to ToonTown has finally come out from behind construction walls and has been revealed to be an ADA access ramp. Theories had been talked about like a new Lightning Lane queue, or other odd options, but this is just an ADA ramp for people needing the less bumpy path and slighly less grade going to ToonTown. – https://www.micechat.com/309918-disneyland-update-genie-fail-entertainment-holiday/ It is going to be easier to spot former Disneyland, and other Disney Parks Ambassadors in the future. New gold Disney Ambassador Alumni name tags have been created that take their inspiration from Walt Disney's Disneyland employee #1 badge. The new name tags were presented to the current alumni at a recent alumni gathering. So, next time you are in the parks, be on the lookout for a gold name tag to see if you are in the presence of a former Disneyland Ambassador. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/12/new-alumni-name-tag-for-disney-ambassadors/ It has been a little while since guest's paper parks have been able to grow – until now. A new Disney Paper Parks: Holiday Edition has been posted on the Disney Parks Blog. The Paper Parks are designed by Imagineers for all to enjoy. Starting in Disneyland and moving through all the parks around the world, this is a set not to be missed! Last week, Disneyland hosted a Galaxy of Wishes fundraising event in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The money raised from this event will help the Make a Wish Foundation be able to grant more wishes for children with critical illnesses. Disneyland was part of the first wish back in 1980. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/12/galaxy-of-wishes-disneyland-resort-and-make-a-wish-join-forces-to-create-more-magic/ We wanted to have the final update on the Cast Member union negotiations and voting that took place a couple of weeks ago. The Cast Members voted to accept the current contract, which will offer $1 per hour retroactive to June 16, 2021, $1 per hour starting June 16, 2022, but being pulled forward to November 17th, 2021, and a final $1 per hour on June 16, 2023. Cast members who were hired on or before June 16, 2001 will get $2000 for fulltime and $1000 for part time, one time payments. The stages had audioanimatronic humans and household appliances showing how appliances and electronics advanced about every 20 years from the turn of the century to the "modern" era of the early 1960s. The audience stopped in front of each stage while the characters joked with each other, described life at the time in history, and demonstrated their kitchen. This ride originated at the 1964 New York World's Fair and was installed at Disneyland after the fair closed. In 1974, Carousel of Progress was moved to Florida's Walt Disney World, and the show building was used for America Sings and Innoventions. The PeopleMovera train ride that ran along an elevated trackFirst built in 1961A great way to relax and enjoy a unique view of TomorrowlandClosed in 1995Rocket RodsPeople mover closed in 1995 as part of a Tomorrowland overhaulRepurposed trackDragster-style thrill attraction - more thrilling than PMOverhead view of TLQuick launchSlowed down at every turn - they lost GM sponsor/budget - didn’t build in banked turns on the flat PM trackSpeed up/slow downNot thrilling enough/Too thrillingLong wait timesMechanical issuesInfrastructure wasn’t altered to accommodate the quick/slow - stress on track & vehiclesAfter weeks went down for 3 months to try to fixStill constantly breaking downTrack and structure was breaking down, making it unsafe - cracks, broken concrete - lawsuitClosed again in 2000 to reopen Spring 2001Didn’t reopen - announced permanent closureSad skeleton in the middle of TLVideopolis (1985–1995): A nighttime dance club targeted at young adults. Videopolis was converted into an amphitheatre in 1990 and was renamed Fantasyland Theatre in 1995.Mike Fink Keel Boats (1956–1994, 1996–1997): The Mike Fink Keel Boats were based on two episodes of the Davy Crockett miniseries which aired on the Disneyland TV show in 1955 -- "Davy Crockett's Keel Boat Race" (Nov 16) and "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" (December 14). The ride was named after Mike Fink, the "King of the River" who lost the keel boat race. The two 38-foot boats, the Gullywhumper and the Bertha Mae, were the actual props that had been used in making the TV shows a few months earlier. The boats were free-floating and traveled around Tom Sawyer Island Riders would sit on benches either inside the cabin or on the roof of the cabin.1997, the Disneyland Gullywhumper boat began to rock side to side. It capsized, dumping a full boatload of passengers into the Rivers of America, leaving several with minor injuries. The boat was removed from the waters for inspection and neither the Gullywhumper nor the Bertha Mae returned for the next operating season. The Bertha Mae was put up on Disney's eBay Auction Site and was sold for $15,000 to Richard Kraft, and was later featured in a scene from Kraft's documentary Finding Kraftland. It was billed as an unseaworthy craft. In 2003, the Gullywhumper returned to the Rivers of America as a prop and is moored on Tom Sawyer Island, where it is visible from the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Sailing Ship Columbia, and the Explorer Canoes.Swiss Family Treehouse (1962–1999): Treehouse based on the film Swiss Family Robinson. Rethemed as Tarzan's Treehouse in 1999 and still open under that name.Jolly Trolley (1993–2003): The Jolly Trolley was a Trolley providing transportation from one end of Toontown to the other. Closed due to crowded walkways presenting major safety hazards, meaning the trolleys could only operate on days with sparse crowds. The Jolly Trolley's track is still present in the main walkway of Toontown, and one car stands stationary in the middle of Toontown. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Are diamonds anyone's best friend? Disneyland launches its spectacular Diamond anniversary with a 24-hour party at the parks which was by turns fun, chaotic, thilling and frustrating to the tens of thousands of guests who descended on the Anaheim resort on May 22. Team Mousetalgia welcomes Beci Mahnken, owner of Mouse Fan Travel, to the show to report on her experiences at the media preview, the 24 hour party, and the grand opening of Disneyland's new 60th anniversary nighttime spectaculars, including World of Color - Celebrate!, the Paint the Night parade, and Disneyland Forever, the new fireworks show that combines projections, fireworks, and special effects throughout the park to create a show that can be viewed from multiple locations (...or can it?) We also debate Disneyland's wisdom in creating predictable mass confusion with an event guaranteed to draw more people to the resort than the parks could contain. Is the result clever marketing, a tarnished reputation - or both? Also, we revisit Tomorrowland and wonder what the financial misfire of Brad Bird's latest film means for the future of Plus Ultra and the Optimists. Will the film find its audience - if there's an audience to be found? Plus - practical tips for visiting the park this summer, Harold's back (and he's ticked!) - and more!
The Mouse Castle Lounge Podcast: Disney News and Interviews, Cocktails and Conversations
Relive Disneyland's 24-hour party with Team Mouse Castle. Throughout the resort's 60th anniversary Diamond Celebration kickoff on Memorial Day weekend, Tim and his friends recorded as much of the craziness as they could, sharing their thoughts and experiences. Hear them take on the Hatbox Ghost, Harold the Abominable Snowman, parades, fireworks and crowds, crowds, crowds. What did they think of "Disneyland Forever" and "Paint the Night"? Did they get trapped in Disney California Adventure? It's an incredible day and night of good friends and insane Disney fun in The Mouse Castle Lounge. www.TheMouseCastle.comRSS Feed: http://themousecastle.libsyn.com/rss
The DIS Unplugged: Disneyland Edition - A Roundtable Discussion About All Things Disneyland
05/26/15 - The team discusses their thoughts about everything new for the Diamond Celebration, including decor, merchandise and the new night time spectaculars, World of Color-Celebrate, Paint The Night and Disneyland Forever.
Inside The Mouse Castle: Disney News, Information and Commentary
Tim and Anthony survived last weekend's 24-hour party at the Disneyland Resort and share all the details on today's episode of "Inside The Mouse Castle." Huge crowds were on hand for the premieres of "Disneyland Forever" fireworks, the "Paint the Night" parade and the "World of Color - Celebrate!" show, while equally large crowds waited outside the gates to get in. It was exciting for most and frustrating for some as Disneyland kicked off its 60th anniversary Diamond Anniversary. Also: Disney opens its biggest Disney Store ever in Shanghai, "Tomorrowland" underperforms at the box office and Reese Witherspoon may be the next Tinker Bell--but we may never find out whether or not Asa Butterfield will play Spider-Man. www.TheMouseCastle.com
