Mickey might not have told you this stuff, but we will.

This week on ChatterBox, we're talking about something that absolutely wrecks us — losing a beloved pet.One of our fur babies just crossed the rainbow bridge, and we're feeling it deep. Like, ugly crying in the shower deep. In this episode, we open up about how hard it is to say goodbye, especially when you genuinely like your pet more than most people (because let's be real — they never judge your outfit, your mood, or your snack choices). It's messy, it's emotional, and honestly, it's the kind of grief that doesn't get talked about enough. So if you've ever lost a pet, are scared of the day you will, or just want to cry in solidarity — pour a glass, grab the tissues, and join us.
This week on ChatterBox, we're diving into a controversy out of Sherwood Ridge Public School, where parents were given the option to pull their kids out of an ANZAC Day assembly. Are we seriously not teaching our kids about ANZAC Day and why we should commemorate it?

What happens when one of your videos goes viral? Apparently, the internet loses its damn mind! This week on ChatterBox, we're diving into the wild ride of our Facebook video that hit over 1.5 million views—and the crazy, mean, and straight-up unhinged comments that came with it. Listen to a 2022 conversation with David Andrichick, owner of the Chatterbox, an important jazz club located in Downtown Indianapolis. The Chatterbox made national news this week when a video depicting a dispute between the club's bartender and a Trump supporter went viral online. But many news reports and social media posts about the incident left out crucial context about the club's history. Here in Indiana, the Chatterbox is known for celebrating the rich jazz history of Indianapolis and embracing a diverse community of patrons. The club's reputation as a destination for live music has attracted notable patrons, including the Rolling Stones, Terence Blanchard, and Wynton Marsalis. In addition to music, the club has also hosted poets, including the world-renowned Etheridge Knight, who led his Free People's Poetry Workshop at the Chatterbox. When WFYI's Kyle Long spoke with Andrichick in 2022, he was celebrating his 40th anniversary as owner of the Chatterbox, and they discussed the club's history in-depth.

After more than three years, Chatter is ending its run. In this episode, Shane and David reflect on the diverse range of topics at the frontiers of national security that this podcast has explored—from spy fiction to lessons of history, from climate change to the visual and musical arts, and from sports and culture to the practice of intelligence.Along the way, they refer back to many of the podcast's brilliant guests while lamenting conversations yet unrealized and specific issues yet unaddressed. And they finally ask *each other* several questions from the Chatterbox before closing it. (Forever?)Works mentioned in this episode: Many too many to list.
