PR (public relations) taught how Amir how to be himself, it taught him to deal with big personalities, and it taught him to leave PR as soon as it wasn't serving him anymore. Amir Yassai worked as a publicist and assistant to a talent manager for almost a decade in Hollywood before pivoting to be talent himself behind the camera and the podcast mic. In episode 1 of All Stars season 5, Ricky Martin guest stars for a Werk the World Variety Extravaganza! The queens enter the werk room in their fabulous entrance outfits and we see a comparison with their original entrance outfits. Then, they participate in a classic reading challenge, which stirs an already deep fight between Derrick Barry and India Ferrah. The queens participate in a Werk the World variety show to show off their talents. Before the lip sync, the queens learn of the new All Stars rule in which each episode will feature a lip sync assassin drag race alum. The lip sync assassin wins this one and the peer voted queen goes home. Episode 2 features guest judges Tessa Thompson and Madison Beer. Miz Cracker has claws out for Ongina who she wanted to send home last week. The queens prepare for the girl group challenge about celebrity crushes called “I’m in Love.” Miz Cracker is told she is difficult in rehearsals. Miz Cracker ultimately apologizes to Ongina and realizes she needs to be nice to get through All Stars. The queens stun in their “love the skin you’re in” runway looks. The top queen wins the lip sync against the assassin and chooses who goes home. To point out a person's flaws 3. v. To uncover or reveal the truth in a situation or one's true gender. i.e. "You can't clock a lace-front wig!" Crusty 1. adj. Extremely shady. 2. adj. Of poor quality, not presentable. "Look at that crusty mug." Cucu 1. n. A term used by Cynthia Lee Fontaine on Season 8 meaning her butt, originating from the Spanish word culo.[1] Feeling My Oats 1. To "feel" one's self or to savor, relish, or enjoy the act or experience of looking "fishy." The term was first used during Season 6 by contestant Gia Gunn. "I'm feeling my Oats, let me feel my Oats" - Gia Gunn Flipper 1. n. Cosmetic removable false teeth, used to hide one's real teeth and create the appearance of perfect teeth. Frock 1. n. A woman's dress. Garage Doors 1. n. Eyelids 2. n. When a queen paints only one color of eyeshadow on her eyes. Highlighter 1. n. A type of makeup usually used on cheeks or on the face. On episode 31 of #ThatPodcast, LPiddy and Jon Jon spill all the tea on the two events that are taking over social media: Rupaul's Drag Race and Tanacon. LPiddy and Jon Jon do a Rucap on Season 10 of Rupaul's Drag Race. They use their new shade button from World of Wonder Productions. The hosts kiki about the Drag Race Reunion and Grand Finale, on VH1, at the Theater at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The Top Four Queens, Aquaria, Eureka O'Hara, Asia O'Hara and Kameron Michaels, did a sudden death Lipsync for the Crown. Ultimately, Aquaria took the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. There was also a special appearance by all of the Season 1 queens of Rupaul's Drag Race, including Bebe Zahara Benet, Nina Flowers, Rebecca Glasscock, Shannel, Ongina, Jade Sotomayer, Akashia and Victoria "Porkchop" Parker. For unknown reasons, Tammie Brown was not at the Finale. The Season 10 queens of Rupaul's Drag Race killed it this season. Shoutout to the Season's queens, Aquaria, Eureka O'Hara, Kameron Michaels, Asia O'Hara, Miz Cracker, Monet X. Change, The Vixen, Monique Heart, Blair St. Clair, Mayhem Miller, Dusty Ray Bottoms, Yuhua Hamasaki, Kalorie Karbdashian Williams and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Then, LPiddy and Jon Jon follow up on their previous podcast about Tanacon. TanaCon was to take place June 22 and 23, 2018 at the Anaheim Marriott Suites in Anaheim/Garden Grove, California, a short distance from the controversial Vidcon, which was being held in the Anaheim Convention Center, in, of course, Anaheim, California. TanaCon was supposed to be the more inclusive version of Vidcon, due to creator's frustration with safety concerns last year. The irony is that TanaCon was shut down by the Fire Marshall and Anaheim Fire Department due to large crows, riots and, ultimately, safety. According to tweets and reports, TanaCon sold about 5000 non-paid and paid tickets to this year's event. Later reports indicate that over 4000 of the tickets sold were paid VIP badges. Tons of teens swarmed the quaint Anaheim Marriott, with many fans waiting hours to either get into a tight convention or never get in at all. Many are reporting dehydration and sun burns. Shane Dawson created a three-part documentary on the Tanacon disaster. He interviews the two crucial components in this event, Good Times' CEO Michael Weist and Tanacon YouTuber Tana Mongeau. They said they feared that drag queens would be negatively represented on the show and decided to steer clear of it.It doesn’t make any sense to me. If RuPaul told me to jump on an airplane, fly to Los Angeles and walk the runway in drag, I’d do it in second. And so should you.What makes these types of TV shows so fascinating to watch is how they illustrate the obstacles we all place in front of ourselves because we fear being rejected. We put those roadblocks in our way because we’re afraid to look at where we’ve failed. We feel that we aren’t good enough.What’s probably the most uncomfortable for the contestants is how the program asks them to take the wig and makeup off, and look in a mirror. The show asks us to embrace our strength and our flaws. In that sense, RuPaul’s Drag Race and the contestants are all winners.
