What should a pastor do when a child sincerely wants to be baptized in Jesus' name, but a parent refuses to give consent? In this episode of Apostolic Life in the 21st Century, UPCI General Superintendent Dr. David K. Bernard offers biblical and pastoral guidance for one of the most sensitive situations a church may face. Apostolic Pentecostals believe baptism is part of the biblical plan of salvation described in Acts 2:38, but pastors must also consider the God-given authority of parents, the age and maturity of the child, and the long-term spiritual impact of their response.Dr. Bernard explains why pastors should respect parental rights, follow the Golden Rule, and trust the grace and mercy of God while ministering to children and families with wisdom, patience, and compassion. If you are a pastor, parent, youth worker, or believer seeking biblical clarity on baptism, parental authority, and pastoral responsibility, this conversation provides practical insight from an Apostolic Pentecostal perspective.Visit PentecostalPublishing.com to shop Dr. Bernard's full catalog of published works. Acts 10:34-48 - Something Supernatural - Pastor Dan PlourdeMESSAGE NOTES:http://www.calvaryword.com/Acts2026/a1457.pdf
What does water baptism really mean? Is it just a public declaration of faith, or is there something deeper happening spiritually? In this powerful sermon from Dwelling House Church, Pastor Jeremiah Genin teaches on the biblical meaning of water baptism, surrender, sanctification, and obedience to Jesus. Through Scripture, powerful illustrations, and the story of Israel crossing the Jordan River, Pastor Jeremiah explains how baptism is not a “graduation” in Christianity, but an encounter with God and a declaration that your old life is gone and your new life belongs to Jesus. This message explores what it means for God to be “The Lord Who Sanctifies” and how believers are called to step into obedience, trust, and complete surrender to Christ. This sermon also highlights the importance of worship, gathering together as the church, walking by faith instead of feelings, and trusting God even before the waters part. Whether you're considering baptism, returning to faith, searching for a Spirit-filled church, or wanting a deeper understanding of biblical Christianity, this message will encourage and challenge you. Dwelling House Church is a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered church passionate about the presence of God, biblical truth, worship, discipleship, and helping people encounter Jesus in a real and transformative way. If you're searching for sermons about water baptism, surrender to God, sanctification, Christian obedience, Spirit-filled Christianity, or growing deeper in your relationship with Jesus, this message is for you. This sermon answers: 1.What is the true biblical meaning of water baptism? 2. What does it mean that God is “The Lord Who Sanctifies”? 3. Why does obedience to God often require stepping out in faith before we see the miracle?
Is baptism really necessary? We know that the physical act of baptism does not save us, so why should we do it? The answer is: that Jesus commanded us to do so. Baptism in water is an act of obedience.Main Points:1. What is Water Baptism? Baptism is a ceremony where a person who has placed their faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins is immersed in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is a public declaration of your faith and identity as a follower of Christ. It's an illustration of what Christ has done in your life.2. In the New Testament, we see that people were baptized immediately after their salvation. New Christians did not wait until they felt ready to be baptized. It is not a matter of readiness; it is a matter of obedience. 3. Baptism is not a mark of spiritual maturity, but rather a statement of personal identification with Jesus Christ. You don't have to wait until you feel like you are a spiritually strong person. It's an obedience issue, not a maturity issue.Today's Scripture Verses:Matthew 28:19 - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”John 14:15 - “If you love me, keep my commandments.”Romans 6:4 - “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”Colossians 2:12 - "For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him, you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

A new MP3 sermon from Christian Answers of Austin is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: Acts 2:38 & Water Baptism Save You? James White Shows How Water Baptism Has No Power Speaker: Dr. James White Broadcaster: Christian Answers of Austin Event: Teaching Date: 4/21/2026 Bible: Acts 2:38; John 3:3-8 Length: 12 min.
For more content visit our website www.provinggodswill.com
James White's starts out his argument against baptismal regeneration by bringing up Romans 3:11, "There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God;" or Ephesians 2:1, "And you were dead in your transgressions and sins," meaning the spiritually dead cannot make themselves spiritually alive by the physical act of the flesh by water baptism. Time marker 03:54 - Romans 8:5-9, "5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is at enmity toward God, for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God. 9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him." Therefore a person who has never been supernaturally "born again" by the power of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-8, 1 Corinthians 6:11,19, Titus 3:5-8, Romans 8:16) cannot "please God" even if they are trying to get water baptized because they are still in the flesh & not the Spirit. Thus their water baptism is completely worthless in this case & means nothing. God must do the work of spiritual regeneration first in a person before they can do anything authentic in the service of the True God of the Bible. The Spirit regenerates. How often have the clear words of Jesus been misunderstood! People universally re-write 'You must be born again.'
By Joshua Creech - We will finish up looking at the baptismal process by digging into the symbolism behind the water immersion and the laying on of hands. By looking at the entire process, we see how much meaning God has put behind the process. It is something that should be very special to each of us.
Are water baptism and communion ordinances or sacraments? Are they symbolic, or something more? How important are they in the life of the believer, and in the life of the church? Join us now as we examine them in the light of Scripture!
Water baptism is more than a symbol, it's a powerful declaration of transformation. In this message, Pastor Corey Erman reveals the spiritual significance of baptism as a public identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Discover how this act marks a new beginning and empowers you to walk in newness of life. “Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith…” - Colossians 2:12To support this ministry and help us reach the nations with revival visit RiverWPB.com or text GIVE and any amount to (855) 968-3708.
Have you ever had questions about God, the Bible, the Church, our world, etc? Today Pastor Joe dives into the often controversial topic of baptisms and salvation using scripture to address commonly misunderstood passages and explain what the Bible really teaches. You'll hear why baptism is not the root of salvation but the fruit of salvation—an outward expression of an inward transformation. We also address a sensitive question many families wrestle with regarding their children, exploring the biblical case for God's mercy, grace, and the age of understanding.

This past Sunday, we talked about the significance of the Sacrament of Water Baptism. Baptism into our new life in Jesus comes by faith as we repent and confess our sins and receive forgiveness. We are now a new creation, with a new identity and family, made to bear fruit as we submit our lives to King Jesus. May we faithfully live this out and share this freely with those who need Jesus.
Acts 2:22-47 - The Church is Birthed - Pastor Dan PlourdeMESSAGE NOTES:http://www.calvaryword.com/Acts2026/a1446.pdf
In this episode of The Leader's Notebook (Ep. 300), I walk through the sweeping biblical story of the Holy Spirit, from Genesis to Pentecost and beyond. We look at the Spirit who brooded over creation, empowered prophets and kings, and was promised in Joel, revealed by Jesus, and poured out in Acts. This is not a new doctrine or a modern movement, but the living Spirit of God at work across all Scripture. From Joel 2, John 20, and Acts 2, we trace the Spirit's person and power through the Word of God. I also challenge every believer to understand that life in the Spirit is not optional equipment for a few, but essential for the whole Church. The same Holy Spirit who filled the upper room still fills and empowers believers today. When He moves, our calling is simple: receive.
