I cannot be the only one who has had the experience of visiting a non-Orthodox church service and finding it stunningly empty and plain. After long familiarity with Orthodox worship with its icons, incense, candles, vestments, Gospel books, and crosses, attending such services produces a kind of sensory deprivation, rather like sensory overload in reverse. Entering those churches and experiencing their services left me looking around almost madly for something focus and feed upon—some cross or image. But there was nothing: the walls were barren and empty, with not even a plaque with an inscribed Bible verse to relieve the sensory monotony. It is like bringing to your lips what you expected to be a cup of wine and finding it to contain tepid water: it's okay, I suppose, but disappointing to the point of surprise and irritation.

The life of Hannah as a married woman was full of of trial, her heartthrob brought in another woman into their relationship. Let us see what we can learn from Hannah
It’s amazing how heavy the weight of emptiness can feel, and how much room something that isn’t even there can take up in our souls. Whether due to loneliness, disappointment, loss, or even a search for purpose, emptiness can seem like our greatest problem. But that’s not how God sees it! When God looks into the empty places of our lives, he sees his greatest opportunity. This week on the podcast, author and teacher Nancy Guthrie is sharing why emptiness has never been, and never will be, a problem to God. With insights from her brand-new book, God Does His Best Work with Empty, she tells how throughout the narrative of Scripture, God is always working to fill up emptiness with his presence. Be encouraged by this hopeful conversation about how your emptiness can be also filled, because God really does do his best work with empty—as he fills it with himself. Questions or comments? Elizabeth and Zachariah found God in the midst of their bareness. He is also present in our times of bareness. We must learn to lean on Him and trust Him through our difficulties.
1 Samuel 2:1-11 So often we find ourselves on the side of unanswered prayer, looking across a vast and open gulf that seemingly separates us from that which we so earnestly seek God for; beholding by faith those things that we have yet to behold by sight. So long it seems we’ve spent in prayer and have yet to see an answer; we join with those souls who cry out from beneath the altar, how long, O Lord, how long!! Yet Hannah was one such woman who travailed in prayer and lived to see the answer of that which she sought God for, her barren womb being opened. Hannah’s tears of sorrow were turned to tears of joy, yet her tears of joy were on account of her tears of sorrow. Before Hannah prayed the prayer of thanksgiving she first prayed the prayer of anguish. To all who labour in anguished prayer, hold fast, the prayer of thanksgiving is at hand!!
In this episode we cover the importance of not overlooking our health and loved ones because of work. This is a great quote for me since I have personally made the mistake to be too busy, and too focused on my business to take time to smell the roses and enjoy life. We do not come to this planet to just work, and I think a lot of times we focus on work in order to avoid our personal problems, this only works for a little bit, and later on in life it backfires and creates a lot of dissonance. I know that my business used to be an escape to ignore the elephant in the room. In the last few months I have made a lot of shifts that have improved my personal life and they also reflect in my business. One of those things is to stop working, go out, have fun, and take care of myself. It sounds simple but it can be so hard to do. I have learned a lot of lessons along the way and I hope I can provide some guidance to those entrepreneurs who may be feeling burned out or like they have reached an emotional plateau that makes it challenging to focus on their business. Hope you enjoy, please share and subscribe for more.
