We are flying through January, and for me, it is always a time to reflect. How are things going? Am I on the right path? Am I pursuing my goals, vision, dreams, and intentions, OR do I even still want them? Are you asking any of these questions? In today's episode, I dive into how you can know if it's time to pivot. So grab your coffee (or tea), a piece of paper, and a pen, and let's answer some questions together! The podcast episode discusses the concept of knowing when it's time to pivot or make a change in one's life. Tami emphasizes the importance of giving oneself grace and recognizing that the outcomes of actions are not always known until the end. Small shifts and changes can lead to significant results. Tami identifies three ways to know when it's time to pivot: a persistent sense of discontent, realizing unfulfilled potential or dreams, and shifting core values or priorities. TIME STAMPS: Intro: 0:00 The Feeling of Persistent Discontent 3:00 Realization of Unfulfilled Dreams or Potential 10:00 The shift in Core Values or Priorities 16:00 Question you can ask yourself: 21:00 Want to make a change? In the late 70's or early 80's I had an opportunity to take on something that looked really cool to me but my situation at the time blocked it. I've kept that dream alive until this past weekend when I fulfilled an unfulfilled dream. What are your unfulfilled dreams? What are you missed opportunities – in scuba or in life? Do you have the chance to close the loop now? In this short episode I look at how I completed something I started almost 50 years ago. No regrets, just fun. Rosalind Franklin was a scientist who helped discover the double helix structure of DNA. Sadly, she contracted cancer and died at the age of thirty-seven. She never won a Nobel Prize. After her death, three of her male colleagues collected the Nobel Prize instead, and only recently has her part in the research been recognised. It's all too common that people can dedicate their whole life to one particular goal, only for it to be snatched away and someone else take the credit. If we're not careful, it can make us bitter.

Okay, so I'll admit it.When you reach a certain age, your eyes start changing so that either reading up close or seeing things from a distance become challenging. (I can read up close but far off is a total blur.) Progressive lenses can help. But honestly? They take some getting used to!Life is a lot like this either/or perspective. We need the lenses of God's Word to see both the big picture AND what's right in front of us, at the same time.In this episode of Live the Bible, we're looking through the eyes of Joseph in Genesis 50. He had learned to see both today and eternity—and he shows us how we can do the same. Support the show
There are no unfulfilled dreams or broken promises in God, just unexpected timelines and unplanned delays. A powerful message from Jason Smith.
Wayne Stiles teaches from the death of Joseph in Genesis 50 that we can trust that the details of our present struggle serve as vital parts of God's grand plan. We can die with unfulfilled dreams because God's promises extend beyond the grave.

I will be taking a 4 week break after this and return on the first Tuesday of November. I hope Ellipsis nudged you gently into reading and exploring poetry on your own a bit. When I look back I see several things I could have done better and differently but my one big hope was to have some of you listen to poems and see for yourselves how beautifully they capture the universal and unique aspects of the human condition. It’s amazing how heavy the weight of emptiness can feel, and how much room something that isn’t even there can take up in our souls. Whether due to loneliness, disappointment, loss, or even a search for purpose, emptiness can seem like our greatest problem. But that’s not how God sees it! When God looks into the empty places of our lives, he sees his greatest opportunity. This week on the podcast, author and teacher Nancy Guthrie is sharing why emptiness has never been, and never will be, a problem to God. With insights from her brand-new book, God Does His Best Work with Empty, she tells how throughout the narrative of Scripture, God is always working to fill up emptiness with his presence. Be encouraged by this hopeful conversation about how your emptiness can be also filled, because God really does do his best work with empty—as he fills it with himself. Questions or comments? God speaks through dreams. Joseph had two dreams at the age of 17 and waited over 11 years for them to be fulfilled. In his difficulties he trusted God, who was working things out according to his own timing.
Unanswered prayers, unfulfilled dreams, and God's promises yet to be seen... These things often bring pain, disillusionment, frustration, loss of hope, and even doubts about God. In reality, if we find ourselves in such a place we are in the company of some of the most prominent heroes of the faith in the Bible. In this message we will look at one of those heroes, Abraham, and see what life was like for him as he walked for years without seeing God's promises come to be. There are great lessons for us - the biggest of which is that God is not finished in the area we are waiting for or have lost hope in. No matter how impossible something seems, it is possible for God. God wants to encourage you that He has not left you or forgotten that which He has promised you. His power is enough to make that thing come to pass. After all, He is the God who calls the things that aren't as though they were. Listen in and be encouraged by God's power to move on your behalf.
