Deborah Levin is Having the Time of her Life Deborah Levin appeared three times on "Star Trek: Voyager" as Ensign Lang in the episodes "Blood Fever," Displaced," and "Year of Hell," but her career has some other fun Star Trek connections throughout it. Deborah explains how she found her way into acting and Hollywood, her longtime friendship with Harlan Ellison, a heartwarming story about her hilarious time on "Married with Children," becoming a bad guy in "How To Get Away with Murder," working with William Shatner on his sitcom "S**t My Dad Says," and a whole lot of nerdy chat about classic movies with Jimmy Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Fredric March, and other actors from the Golden Age of Cinema. Plus, what it was like being the only ensign on a Starfleet bridge defending it from attackers, working with Robert Beltran, more stories from VOY, and if there were more plans for Ensign Lang after these three episodes. In this episode of Displaced in Space, Angelina and Sam discuss "Blood Fever," Season 3, episode 16 of Star Trek: Voyager! This week, B'Elanna Torres tells Tom Paris, "I've tasted your blood. I have your scent." That's all anyone needs to know.
"Voyager" continues the unsettling tradition of "Trek" being bad at being sexy this week. First up, things go too pon farr when a crewman hits the disturbing Vulcan mating season and sets his sights on B'Elanna in "Blood Fever". After that, some ex-Borg have decided they want to be pseudo-Borg but need Chakotay's help to pull it off in "Unity"! Will his attraction to one of their number be enough to turn Commander Milquetoast against Janeway's orders? Also this week: needs more bells, a doomed proposition, and our favorite Vulcans! Pon FarrLet's talk about sex ... Vulcan sex, that is. The concept of the seven-year mating cycle was introduced in The Original Series episodes "Amok Time." Spock, however, is not the only Vulcan character in the Trek franchise, so it was inevitable that this taboo topic would be touched on in subsequent series. The trio looks at two incidents - Subcommander T'Pol in the Enterprise episode "Bounty" and Ensign Vorik & B'Elanna Torres in the Voyager episode "Blood Fever." What new information do we get with each outing? Does this add anything to the Vulcan story? How do the episodes treat this vulnerable time? Join in this respectful discussion about Vulcan sex, and let us know if you have a particular favorite episode or moment.

A strange, unsettling, and oddly enjoyable episode gets the strange, unsettling, and oddly enjoyable treatment it deserves, courtesy of a holiday weekend and two-thirds a bottle of good bourbon! Will Torres survive the first recorded case of Klingon Pon Farr? Will Paris' praise-worthy commitment to informed, enthusiastic consent threaten his reputation as an immature jerkwad? Will anything in this episode be funny now that we've sobered up? Is “Blood Fever” GOOD… or is it GARBAGE? The is episode is brought to you by Michter's and Captain D's.
On this episode of Stunt Trek with Uncle Jim and THE Leslie Hoffman, we take a look at the 16th episode of the 3rd season of Star Trek Deep Space Nine, "BLOOD FEVER", originally aired on February 5, 1997. The onset of Vulcan mating season throws the away team into tirmoil when a Vulcan crew member's advances trigger Torres' involuntary instincts. Leslie shares her behind the scenes stories about going through Vulncan Pon Farr.
‘What's your name, boy?' ‘Bond, James Bond.' ‘James Bond - sir.' ‘Yes. Sorry, sir.' In July 2018 Don had a chat with Charlie Higson, author of the first five Young Bond books. Their interview was originally conducted for the podcast of James Bond Netherlands, but is now shamelessly re-published for the 00 Files. Charlie's first Young Bond adventure is SilverFin, published in 2005. The story is set in 1933 and we meet thirteen-year-old James Bond, who is sent to Eton. James gets involved with a diabolical plot, in which a larger-than-life villain threatens to change the nature of modern warfare... The book, both a critical and commercial success, was swiftly followed by BloodFever (2006), Double Or Die (2007), Hurricane Gold (2007) and By Royal Command (2008). The podcast starts with a short clip from the audiobook SilverFin, narrated by Nathaniel Parker. Please follow us on social media (search for The 00 Files) and share our podcast with others. True alien lust is in the air as your podcast heroes review "Blood Fever", yet another episode that required Roxann Dawson to act both sweaty and horny. The episode itself had its ups and downs, but can Peter survive the 'special enhancements' Joseph brought for the occasion?

Star Trek: Voyager pays off the end of “Blood Fever” by showing us a colony of former Borg in “Unity”. Then, in “Darkling”, the show pays nothing off by giving us a terrible riff on Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde. iTunes Google Play RSS

This Valentine’s Day, listen to Jacqueline Lopez and Jennifer Zhang being really, really immature about “pon farr” — the irrepressible Vulcan mating impulse — as they review what is arguably the sexiest episode of Star Trek: Voyager ever… “Blood Fever.” Witness what Jacqui describes as “the unraveling of Jennifer Zhang.” Things get hot and heavy as your two hosts discuss violent Klingon foreplay, B’elanna Torres’s heaving bosom, and Tom Paris literally being commanded to administer sexual healing. If Star Trek has never made your heart race at warp 9, prepare to have that change.

This week we are joined by the lovely Sina Alvarado from the 10 Forward podcast as we discuss Blood Fever and reintroduce our feedback section
Errand of Mercy. The Klingons are perhaps the best-known of all Star Trek villains, and that status is due as much to The Original Series as to their role on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. It's an interesting point since they made only seven appearance on TOS and were not even the main focus of all of these episodes. Still, John Colicos's portrayal of Kor in the first ever appearance of the Klingons ensured that they would be a long-lived adversary of the Federation. In this episode of The Ready Room we're joined by David Taylor as we discuss the episode “Errand of Mercy.” In news we cover the upcoming Broadway run of Shatner's World: We Just Live In It, a possible Star Trek TV series pitch from Bryan Fuller and Bryan Singer, the TNG Remastered Season One trailer and more new surrounding the TNG-R project, and some movie news and rumors. We also dip into our mailbag for some listener thoughts on our recent discussions of “Blood Fever” and “Regeneration.” Oh… and did I mention our mind scanner?
Blood Fever. The Original Series episode “Amok Time” established the Vulcan mating ritual known as pon farr, the effects it has on male Vulcans, and the rituals surrounding it. When Voyager launched in 1995 it was the first series since TOS to feature a Vulcan as part of the main cast, and so it was inevitable that the writers would revisit this biological trial. When the time came, however, they threw in an unexpected twist. In this episode of The Ready Room we're joined by our Voyager series editor Charlynn Schmiedt as we discuss the third-season episode “Blood Fever” and how Voyager handled the touchy subject of the pon farr. In news we cover Priceline killing off Shatner, the ThinkGeek Electronic Door Chime, real-life transparent aluminum, Star Trek Who Wants to be A Millionaire?, updates on the TNG Remastered project, and IDW's Star Trek Ongoing #5 “Operation: Annihilate!” Plus we take another dip into our bag of rejected Star Trek IV plots and Greg auditions for the role of “Sound Effects Guy” on Star Trek: The Original Series.
