I had a completely different topic I planned on talking about in today's episode but after seeing countless Q&A questions and reflecting on my own experience with today's topic, this felt too important not to talk about today. I see many women specifically come into the Level TEN coaching community that have chronically dieted for years (much like I did) and think the issue is overtraining. Emotions in the Body  with Dr. Joey Mattina When we feel pain, the first thing we think of is the possibility of a physical health condition. It may be an injury, muscle or tissue damage, soreness from lousy posture, and so much more. However, we don't think about how these pains may be emotions in the body—emotions that manifest physically. When you truly tune into your mind and body, you'll understand that your pain is so much more than what's on the surface. In today's episode, chiropractor and healer Dr. Joey Mattina joins us to shed light on the deeper mind and body connection. He explains how stress and trauma manifest as physical ailments in our bodies and how we can access them. Joey also emphasizes the importance of proper breathing in modulating our body's nervous system. Tune in to this episode to know how you can take the first steps in understanding and dealing with emotions in the body! Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode: Learn the top-down and bottom-up approach in accessing our body and brain. Discover how trauma is tied to pains in different areas of the body. Find out what the pain-body is and some ways of dealing with it. The top-down approach is talk therapy, while the bottom-up approach is bodywork and getting into our bodies. As a chiropractor, Joey uses a combination of the two. One of the chiropractic field's major arts is getting the best treatment for something, not merely a physical ailment. A lot of times, nervous system issues tie down to past trauma and stresses in life. Tune in to the full episode to hear Joey's experience uncovering emotions in the body during a myofascial seminar! When the Person is Not Ready Everybody's different. Joey tries to tune into people and their emotions in the body based on his experiences and personal healing journey. He's the most present in life when he puts his hands on somebody. He suffered from abuse when he was a child. He had issues talking about it and having people touch him. When people aren't ready, let them walk through the door, either verbally or nonverbally. People don't respond well when forced. Processing Emotions in the Body It's a lifelong journey. It takes the right time and life experience to be ready to access it. Research has shown that ailments in different areas of the body correspond to different traumatic life experiences. As a practitioner, it's all about matching the patient's vibration to invite a healing environment. How Not to Take in the Subtle Energy of Accessing Trauma As long as he can continue doing the things he enjoys, he stays grounded. With his turbulent childhood, he had always been learning how to process and modulate stress. His practice requires him to change energy every half hour interacting with different people. He knows it will get to him if he doesn't take the time to be with himself. Joey continues to work on setting boundaries. The Importance of Feeling Empowered to Care for Our Health More than cracking, he's more in the realm of helping patients not see him. He views himself as someone who can bring out the best in people, get in their bodies, and heal their wounds. Touching people in the right way and making them realize they can change their life is the power of chiropractic care. Dealing with the Pain-Body The pain-body can be multiple things. It can be a specific traumatic event, a negative pattern you're in, and something that happened before you. The biggest thing is trying to understand where your pain originates. There are many different therapeutic ways to understand your pain. It's about experimenting and finding what works best for you. Acknowledgment is the first step towards healing. The General Theme in Chiropractic Care His objective in his practice is to get patients out of the physical pain they're experiencing. A lot of the general aches and pains are biochemical. Regular bodywork and adjustment are suitable for the actual physical nature of the body. Working with athletes is different from working with the general population because they're dealing with specific torn muscles. When he starts to see people more often than he would like to, that's when it essentially becomes a therapy session. Many aches and pains in the body can also root from not breathing enough and having a tight diaphragm. Stuck Breath Breathing is an automatic function of the body that we don't have to do consciously. It is affected by the nervous system, including the sympathetic fight or flight. When there is constant stress, we get chronic shallow breathing, and the stress hormones stay high. Taking ten deep breaths can help lower your blood pressure and reduce cortisol. A lot of what shows up as physical ailments in the body comes from the nervous system. Taking deep breaths is a way to teach the nervous system how to modulate. What Is Box Breathing? It's a four-second deep breath-in, four-second hold, four-second breath-out, and another four-second hold. Wim Hof has done a lot of this breathing exercise. Box breathing tells the body that things are okay and lowers the nervous system response. The pain you experience under incredibly stressful things may occur because of so much tension in the body. Voicing Out Trauma It's something that lives with you for the rest of your life. So, it's about how comfortable you can get with it. Everybody's going to process it differently. There's no shame in feeling nervous when you start talking about and processing trauma. We all live with different pains; we have unique journeys. Don't be too hard on yourself. Feeling Radically Loved Joey feels radically loved when he's giving his best self to everybody else in his life. While he can't control who loves him, he can control what he's putting into the universe. Being radically loved means fulfilling his purpose. 5 Powerful Quotes [07:26] “What's super interesting about it is everybody's different. And, you know, I'm always learning every single day. I can only--I just do the best I can based on my experiences and things that I've been through in my own healing journey.” [09:39] “I'm still processing but but you know, it's a lifelong journey. But yeah, I you know, I think a lot of people when something like that happens, we tucked it away, we compartmentalize and it's something that's you know, we just try to not think about it and it lives in there.” [11:35] “If someone comes in and they're cheerful and joyful, I try to match that. Because when you match somebody else's vibration, you get in sync, and you can then sort of you invite this healing environment.” [12:35] “I find that as long as I can continue to do the things that I know, bring me joy, or my meditation, I stay very grounded.” [17:07] “I just think that touching people in the right way physically, but also just sort of, you know, leaving them with something that says, “Oh, shit, I can change my life.” And, and that's very powerful to me.” About Joey Dr. Joey Mattina, DC, is an LA-based expert chiropractor. How is it better for my church if I'm not getting laid?” That makes no sense whatsoever.” In her most recent book, “Shameless: A Sexual Reformation: A Case for Not Feeling Bad About Feeling Good (About Sex)“ she writes about the complicated relationship people have with sex and pleasure, and Christianity’s often distorted reality of that.Listen on to our conversation and to learn how to sift through life’s mixed messages about faith and pleasure to find what brings you personal meaning.Enjoy! What if I told you orgasmic living could be available to you and your body in every moment? Our society has defined and confined the energy of the orgasm to the bedroom. I’m here to invite you to know that we can rescue the orgasm from being trapped only in the bedroom and coax and nurture it into every aspect of our daily living. I know for some of you this may seem impossible to even imagine.  I know what that feels like because I was someone who lived completely disconnected from my body for the first THIRTY years of my life.  I had no idea what orgasmic living was, or that is was available to me. I thought it was something that resulted from two bodies in a bed, after reaching that sweet spot, and that was that.  At this time in my life I never included my body in anything and I wasn’t comfortable exploring what my body wanted or needed, or even enjoyed. Everything changed when I finally allowed my consciousness to explore this part of my existence, and started to commune with my body. It was this shift and the tools I used that I would like to share with you. Orgasms are more than that elated feeling that erupts from our bodies at the end of sexual engagement. The essence of the orgasm, and the beginning of orgasmic living, is an energy that we can all harness in our everyday lives. My weekly show, Orgasmic Living, encourages women to activate the orgasmic energy within, break out of their shells and really change their lives, starting with the magic that is available with your body. Watch this episode here: Or listen here: How Do You Activate Orgasmic Energy in the Body? It is important to first know that the consciousness of the orgasm is the very energy of your life, and the essence of who you truly are. It is the energy related to total presence and complete awareness; the consciousness of your body and your unique attributes. Orgasmic energy is about welcoming in all of those sensations that your body has to offer you. They are gifts that are biologically available and attainable when you are ready to receive them. Activating orgasmic energy in your body means connecting with yourself, right here, and right now. Are you ready? What About Orgasms? Can I still have them AND live orgasmically? What if orgasms aren’t possible for me right now? Orgasms are amazing, and we all deserve to experience them, however they are not necessarily required for Orgasmic LIVING. What I’d more like to draw your attention to is what occurs physically, mentally and emotionally at that moment you experience an orgasm. It is a moment in which everything fades from your mind, the worries of tomorrow, and the depression of the past. You are very much in the present, feeling the euphoric sensation take over your body. In this moment, you are more in touch with your body than at any other time. What’s to say you can’t have that kind of connection with yourself, 24-7? Would this be of interest to you? What Makes YOU Orgasmic? With the focus taken off the singular event and placed more on the energy of the orgasm, you can use it as a sort of compass and start to identify what brings you happiness, joy, and pleasure, outside of a sexual orgasm. How do you feel in those moments? Are you choosing these kinds of joy in your everyday life, or are you pushing them to the side as a result of your crazy schedule? Become present with where you are right now with your body, with choosing orgasmic energies daily and just notice where you’re at now, and where you’d like to go now that you know something else is possible. Your whole life can be one, massive orgasmic experience. You can find a way to exist in a euphoric presence that is still conducive to a productive job, happy family, and satisfying sexual engagements. You are only given one body in this life – treat it with acceptance, understanding, and awareness. You will find that everything else falls into place.

What Does Fish Oil Do To Your Health And Vision?

Have you ever wondered what fish oil does to your health and vision? Over the years, Professor Brian Peskin’s specialty has become essential fatty acids. However, he doesn’t like the term because “acid” is in it. Instead, he calls them Parent Essential Oils (PEOs). It’s the most powerful anti-inflammatory there is. It’s also a vasodilator, so it gives you increased blood flow. The benefits go on and on. Fatty acids, which can be found in fish oil, are tied to almost every biochemical reaction in your body. Essential Fatty Acids | Fish Oil And Eye Health   What Are Essential Fatty Acids? All anybody needs to know about this, to begin with, is that there are two essential fatty acids: parent omega-6 and parent omega-3. Your body can’t make either of them. If you don’t get them from food or from supplements, you’re very short. What Are the Benefits of Essential Fatty Acids? You may say, “Big deal. I’m short on these. Who cares?” For starters, every one of your 100 trillion cell membranes has 25 percent to 33 percent of these, so they are actually the brick and mortar of every cell. They also lead to making the biggest anti-inflammatory your body has, PEG1 or prostaglandin series 1. What Is Fish Oil? Fish oil is DHA and EPA. What people don’t realize is DHA and EPA are used very little in the body. The brain and central nervous system do use them. Outside of that, it’s next to zero, so the daily requirement is no more than 15 milligrams. The average recommendation today is 20 to 500 times over what the body actually needs. Why Does It Have a Fishy Smell? What everybody needs to understand is that DHA and EPA have five and six double bonds. The more double bonds there are, the faster the substance turns rancid. This is the fish smell in the supplement section of the supermarket. That is rancid oil. How Does Fish Oil React in the Body? It turns out DHA and EPA become rancid spontaneously at room temperature, never mind 98.6 in your body. At 70 degrees, they’re rancid. DHA and EPA are in fish to keep the membrane of the fish fluid in freezing water. You have to ask yourself if you are living in freezing water. Of course, the answer is heck no. You’re living in something way above freezing all the time. Should I Take Fish Oil? That is grave cause for concern because the eye nervous system in the brain has about 14 percent DHA and EPA in it. If you overdose it by taking the fish oil supplements the way they’re prescribed most commonly, you’re going to put too much into the tissue. Professor Peskin tells us that there’s no reason to take any fish oil whatsoever. All the 21st-century science shows your body makes plenty of it from the parents. This has been one of the big things in medicine. Professor Peskin gives us many examples and studies showing most people are looking at outdated, wrong analytical measurements. We have been given the wrong information. In the past, they made estimates that were much too high, so people thought you needed a lot of DHA and EPA, and you don’t. Is Krill Oil Good for You? If you ever look at a krill, it is this wicked small shrimp. It’s great food for a whale, not a human being. Humans don’t eat that. First thing when you hear where we’re getting this from, look at it. Would it be food for a human? The answer is no. It is less dangerous than the oil from fish because there are less DHA and EPA in it. It’s less of a poison if you want an answer to what it is. It’s still absolutely wrong and it’s not needed at all. What Are the Risks of Taking Fish Oil? Fish oil increases the risk of colon cancer. This was discovered on August 26, 2010 during cancer research. Researchers gave mice a high dose of fish oil, it made the colon cancer worse, and the lead investigator was shocked. They thought it would help the mice, but it made them worse. Fish Oils Decrease the Immune System Response Listen in as the professor explains how fish oils decrease the immune system response.
