Send oss gjerne tilbakemelding på gunstein.skomedal@uia.no.Sjekk ut våre nettsider grunnstoffene.no for en periodisk oversikt over podcastepisodene.
Arbejdede Lee Harvey Oswald alene i 1963? Hey Guys! We know you missed us. Well we are here to make your miserable week better. James and Aevry discuss Powerbottoms, California, Black Timberlands, A very hungry monkey, wank pods, and electing Sex workers. Enjoy!
Check out the video episode! Webster's dictionary defines the number 251 as "the natural number between 250 and 252", but it is so much more than that. It's also the second number after 249 and the second number before 253. It is also the mass number of the element Californium which was discovered in a wastebasket of a green room the day after a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. But perhaps most importantly, the 251st episode of Star Trek is "Timescape" in which Data outright calls Deanna Troi a ho, and what, my friends, is better than that? So find your closest robot friend and get ready to call out the closest hussies as we discuss:- Celebrity Gossip Pipeline- Satellite TV- Flaggots- Non Fan ComplaintsCelebrities! They're like a whole different species to us plebeians. How could we possibly understand their lives? With a bevy of 24/7 information on them! What are they eating and drinking? Who are they going out with? What kind of dump did they take last night? Any info you want on a celebrity is now available for the low, low cost of your soul. Every peek of a tabloid or TMZ news post chips away at your essence. Go read a book or learn a trade with all the time you spend wondering what brand of deodorant Jennifer Lawrence buys.Stuff from space is awesome. Bar none. Spaceships. Aliens. Symbiotes. Phasers. TV. Except that last one. Don't get me wrong, the concept of getting your TV from a satellite in space is sweet, but it comes with some severe disadvantages. Turns out the weather is in between here and space, and since satellite already is geared towards those outside city centers who can't have cable run to their house, you're now stuck in the middle of nowhere without TV because of a little cloud. And I guess the satellite people think that folks out in the country are worrying 24/7 about not being able to go to the store to buy things if their wagon breaks down because approximately 78 percent of its programming is trying to directly sell you something.People can't just not like things anymore. They have to stop everyone else from seeing it, instead of using the tools they've been given to not see it themselves. They are the kid in elementary school that tells the teacher because the comic book you're reading says "damn" in it. The kind of person that calls 911 on a jaywalker on an empty street. The crazy vegan that throws their food at the employees because something they didn't order has eggs in it.Non-fans don't have rights. I'm sorry, that's just how it is. I have no reason to be upset if they made Slimer hot in the new Ghostbusters movie because A) I'm a grown man and Ghostbusters is for children and manlets and B) I have no stake in it! If I threw a hissy fit about it, I'd be getting mad just to get mad, and you don't want to be that kind of person. There are too many other things to actually be mad about than things you don't actually care about. All this and more on this week's episode! Today's word is Californium. It's not what you think.
Back this with awesome discussion about beekeeping (what else?!), the most-insanely valuable rare earth elements, and for the main topic: radiation. Picking up where Rob left us wondering about ‘what is radiation’ last time while exploring the periodic table, he explains what it is, isn’t, and how deadly it can be or not be.
[SPOILERS] We open on Wendy Willoughby in her daughter, Clara's, bed mourning her premature death. Signor Romanzo shows up and we learn that he has the power to materialise like a hologram before certain individuals he has control over. We also, more shockingly, learn that Wendy herself used to be part of the House of Wonders! Romanzo reveals that he does not think Clara is actually dead, and that he needs to find a crystal of Californium to find Clara and harness the full might of his mystical powers. Once romanzo disappears, Wendy finds a series of letters written by Clara, impersonating Wendy... or rather Wendy's old name — Josephine. Dazed and in shock, Wendy makes her way over to Alicia's house for a BDSM meeting. However, when faced with no sympathy or condolences, she freaks out and curses out the other ladies in attendance. The chapter ends with her storming out of the house, destroying Alicia's flowerbeds, and heading for the beach that keeps being referenced for some mysterious reason...Crowbarred contributions (aka ding ding dings)Speech: I walk around like everything is fine, but deep down in my shoe I know my sock is sliding off.Phrase: Cringe syringeCreditsPerformers: Sophia Hotung, Huber Rodriguez-Tejada, Veronica Grace TaleonAuthor: Huber Rodriguez-TejadaTheme music: Bubamara by the Bubamara Brass BandIntro voiceover: Adam Spencer Hosted on Acast. This podcast discusses exciting innovations in neutron production: How Phoenix generates neutrons with a thousand times less nuclear material than a reactor and includes the safety of an “off-switch.” Why this technology is essential to the medical, air travel, and aerospace fields. How in addition to radioisotopes in medicine like the molybdenum 99 production, Phoenix can produce neutrons with tremendous flexibility key to industrial needs. What else Shine Medical plans to make, including isotopes with therapeutic potential for diseases like cancer. What else Phoenix is working on including an electronic machine to replace the difficult-to-handle isotope Californium 252. Even Sengbusch, PhD, MBA, and president of Phoenix, discusses the history of Shine Medical and Phoenix and how their work to produce neutrons through new technology leaves the danger and limitations of nuclear reactors far behind. Greg Piefer, founder and CEO of Shine Medical was unable to join the conversation because of travel issues, but Dr. Sengbusch discusses both companies and what they accomplish. Shine Medical spun from Phoenix in 2010 to focus specifically on radioisotopes in medicine. Phoenix produces neutron generators that Shine then uses for isotopes useful in medical technology imaging procedures. Phoenix focuses on molybdenum 99 production, which has been the workhorse in nuclear medicine. Currently only two places worldwide manufacture molybdenum 99, and Phoenix will soon be able to make this isotope without a nuclear reactor. When it decays, Moly 99 emits detectable gamma rays that work as markers for imaging techniques. For example, it can attach to heart-specific glucose and then provide organ information through imaging. It can also attach to cancer cells and give a clear image for cancer detection.
