Do you remember that film about a bunch of stop motion chickens pulling off a Great Escape-ish escape from the chicken farm where they'll all eventually become dinner? Well, Netflix certainly does, and they've invested in bringing the sequel to your television screens some 23 years later.   Paul and Wayne have checked it out and at least one of them is not chicken in voicing their disdain for the film. We were joined this week by Darren Atkinson, drummer from iconic Brisbane Band Ups and Downs, Darren, formed Ups and Downs with his brother Greg, and John Flade in 1983. Peter Shaw joined shortly after and they added keyboards with Trevor O'Neil in 1987.Darren talks openly on their journey, which saw high acclaim with their single Perfect Crime, which led to a move to Sydney. A journey that saw them release incredible pop songs, in their signature jangly guitar style, signing with major labels and the relationship with labels and their fans. They were nominated for ARIA and Coundown awards. Their journey continues until this day, releasing music.Braggy was relegated to the small screen due to the internet gremlins sabotaging our connection with the Agnes Water recording hub. This was a track that never stopped moving on our judges lists and while ranked here in the First Five will most definitely rank in your rotation much higher. For me it was like listening to heavy metal underwater, and you can here more about how each judge felt next week in our "Underground Recap Sessions". Moving on tto a submission that will make you smile. Not while banging your head, but while bobbing it. Zapruder Point brings a fun bar song to the Countdown, and along with its simplicity comes some great lyrics, and a comfortable feel. Finally wrapping up our August First Five with a is what has been called a departure from the Metal we've been used to. An Atlas to Advance ends the show with perfect production, an grand epic feel, and more.
