Celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, Zach and Chris kick off another year of Everything Action Commentaries with I, Frankenstein.Aaron Eckhart stars as Frankenstein's Monster aka Adam Frankenstein, who, following the events of the Mary Shelley novel, becomes embroiled in the eternal war of gargoyles and demons. 200 years after his creation, Adam takes it upon himself to hunt down and destroy demons but his methods put him at odds with the gargoyles, led by their queen Leonore (Miranda Otto). A plot by the demon prince Naberius (Bill Nighy) to use Frankenstein's resurrection science to unleash an army of undead demons threatens both gargoyle and humankind. While watching the movie, Zach and Chris talk about how the opening is shockingly accurate to the Frankenstein novel, the similarities to Underworld (which makes sense as Kevin Grevioux helped create both), Adam's training regime, the overly conspicuous gargoyle and demon deaths, tracking resurrection as a percentage and more. You can watch I, Frankenstein on Max and watch along with the Everything Action crew.We want to hear your comments and feedback. MERRY SHAQMAS EVERYONE! We kick off a pod tradition with the First Annual Shaqmas Celebration on ADHD-DVD as returning guest and FED Talks host E.J. Feddes brings an unseen film from his collection with our man Shaquille in the lead role. It's 1997's Steel, written and directed by Kenneth Johnson, and starring Shaquille O'Neal, Annabeth Gish, Judd Nelson, Richard Roundtree, Irma P. Hall, Ray J, Steve Matilla, Kevin Grevioux, and John Hawkes. Shaq has a Superman tattoo so why not cast him as a hero that is explicitly tied to Superman, a character who does not appear and is in fact never mentioned in this film even once. Join us this Christmas and every Christmas going forward for another dive into the acting ouevre of Shaq! Plus, Hayley and EJ both have theatrical field reports on The Boy and the Heron, and Hayley spreads Shaqmas cheer with a lovely gift-giving ceremony. Additional works discussed in this episode include Jack & Jill, Barbie, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Wonka, The Thing, The Rocketeer, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Spawn, Green Lantern, Baby Driver, Underworld, I, Frankenstein, Man of Steel, Spider-Man 3, The Outer Limits, The Flash, Shaq's appearance on Dr. Phil's podcast, Shaq's Big Challenge, and Shaq Vs. among others. If you'd like to watch the film before listening to the show, it is not currently available for streaming in Canada but can be rented for $5 on YouTube and Amazon. We'll be back next week to close out the year with the New Years Eve at the Alamo actioner Assault on Precinct 13 -- and we do stress that's the 2005 vintage with Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne, and not the 1976 John Carpenter original. Until then, merry Shaqmas everyone and we'll see you at the movies!

Those Freaky Foals are Likin' Those Lycans!! Sorry. It's a prequel and Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy are featured prominently and Dixon and PJ had a fun time but basically Becky's not sure so they talk about it and what not for some of the episode and stuff, and also PJ knows some facts about movies. Makeup FX and production design legend Patrick Tatopoulos slides into the director's chair, series creator Kevin Grevioux returns to the supporting cast, and Michael Sheen gets boned on a cliff. I hope your having a good day thank's for reading all of this :) Hey

Critics largely said it sucked, but fans turned this Kate Beckinsale vampire-werewolf flick into a five-movie franchise. Derivative exercise in style or howling good time? We're breaking it down.
According to Len Wiseman, he and his pals had been planning an Underworld trilogy right from the start with the third film being a prequel laying out the foundations of the vampire/lycan war. If that’s the case, why does this feel so sloppy? Join us – Pete Wright and Andy Nelson – as we continue our Underworld series with the third film, Patrick Tatopoulos’ 2012 film Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. We talk about the problems with the foundation of the rules Wiseman, Danny McBride, and Kevin Grevioux set up right at the start, which they don’t seem to have any problems with breaking or making convoluted. We chat about the performers and how they’re bringing good performances to their roles, even if they’re not written that well. We look at the effects and how for the most part, they really do feel like a step up. And we debate the storyline and try to figure out just when some of these elements actually were taking place. It’s an entertaining film but an overly problematic one. We still have fun watching it even if the problems outweigh the successes. Regardless, it’s a great one to chat about so check it out then tune in. The Next Reel – when the movie ends, our conversation begins! Host Jo Reed and AudioFile’s Jonathan Smith discuss this deliciously grisly full-cast recording that captures the campy horror of EC Comics’ 1950s stories. The cast features Phil Proctor, Denise Poirier, and an outstanding performance by Kevin Grevioux as the Vault Keeper, whose rumbling voice and wicked laugh nearly steals the show. A multilayered soundscape including creepy period music and carefully engineered sound effects (footsteps that advance ominously out of the darkness, screams that echo in an abandoned house) contributes to the unsettling atmosphere that marks each tale. And since it's Eisner Awards season, Sean and Derek decided to discuss the nominees for this year's Best Webcomic category. As listeners may remember, last year the guys were quite critical of the Eisner Awards judges. While they finally took the long-overdue step in separating webcomics from digital comics, they nonetheless seemed to have no clear understanding of what defined a webcomic. They included webcomics in the Best Digital Comic category, and digital comics in the Best Webcomic category. This year, the judges seemed to have correctly understood the distinctions, although Sean and Derek still have questions as to the parameters and qualifications as to the choices and decision-making process. Then again, theirs may not be to wonder why, but to discuss critically the webcomics under consideration. And the guys have a fruitful discussion concerning this year's nominees: Awaiting a Wave, by Dale Carpenter and Nate Powell (The Weather Channel Digital) Brothers Bond, by Kevin Grevioux and Ryan Benjamin (Webtoons) Dispatch from a Sanctuary City, by Mike Dawson (The Nib) The Tea Dragon Society, by Katie O'Neill (Oni Press) Welcome to the New World, by Jake Halpern and Michael Sloan (New York Times Sunday Review)
