The Religious Potential of the Child is not a “how-to” book, complete with lesson plans and material ideas. Instead it offers a glimpse into the religious life of the atrium, a specially prepared place for children to live out their silent request: “Help me come closer to God by myself.” Here we can see the child's spiritual capabilities and perhaps even find in our own souls the child long burdened with religious information. This is a re-release of Ichimon Japan episode 28. On this episode of Ichimon Japan we ask: How do Japanese names work? Topics Discussed How people in Japan normally state their family name before their given name The complicated history of naming practices in Japan Commoners being prohibited from using family names during the Edo Period The Meiji era laws that mandated every Japanese person take a family name The reluctance of some people to take a family name during the Meiji Period The fact that many (most?) people with the surname Satō (佐藤) are probably not descended from samurai The fact that many commoners were given last names based on the geographical features of the area in which they lived The story of how the Furo (風呂) family supposedly got their family name from Minamoto no Yoshitsune The most common family names in Japan in 2019 How many Japanese family names there are The prevalence of rare Japanese last names The regional nature of some Japanese family names The convention of naming boys based on their birth order How it's easy to forget people's first names in Japan Some of the factors people in Japan consider when naming a baby Asking people in Japan about the kanji they use for their given name as a way to spark conversation The phenomenon of siblings having related names Interesting names in anime The practice of picking a baby name based on the way a name is written How much it usually costs to have a shrine pick a baby name for you What a seimeihandanshi is What it might cost you to have a seimeihandanshi pick a baby name for you A list outlining the most popular baby names in Japan of 2019 The Japanese naming convention of tōriji How shorter names have become common in Japan in recent years How female names that end in -ko used to be more common And much more! Note: Just for the sake of clarity, I'd like to point out that the story of the Furo family name did not occur during the Meiji Period (actually it probably never even occurred in the way it is normally told). However, because the story was introduced alongside the changes of the Meiji Period it's possible to be left with the impression that there was a connection there. There is no direct connection. The story was simply brought up as an example of the many interesting ways in which people in Japan acquired last names. Penetapan Keputusan Menteri Kehutanan Nomor 52 Tahun 2026 menandai era baru transformasi sumber daya manusia di lingkungan Kementerian Kehutanan melalui pendekatan Corporate University (CorpU).

Can you believe this is the final episode of 2025? It feels surreal to be closing out another year of the City Girl Savings Podcast—211 episodes of financial education, mindset shifts, and real conversations about building the life you want through better money management. If you've been tuning in all year…whether this is your very first episode or you've listened to all 50+ episodes released in 2025…I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Truly. Your support, your listens, your shares, your reviews, your messages about how an episode changed your perspective... they all mean the world to me and the entire CGS team. This podcast started back in January 2022 as a way for me to share what I've learned about money, mindset, goal-setting, and creating the life you want on your own terms. Over the past four years, it's grown into such a powerful space for women to learn, grow, take ownership of their financial futures, and realize they're not alone in their money struggles. As we close out another incredible year, I've been reflecting deeply on what 2025 has taught me—not just as a money coach working with clients every week, but as a woman navigating her own financial journey, personal growth, health challenges, business evolution, and life transitions. So in today's final episode of the year, I'm sharing five powerful money lessons that 2025 taught us, along with practical ways to apply each one in 2026 so you can reach brand-new levels in your financial journey. And because I'm passionate about the transformation that happens when you have support and guidance, I'm also sharing how working with a money coach can help you implement these lessons with clarity and confidence. Grab a notebook, open your Notes app, or get ready to screenshot some key takeaways, because these five lessons are the perfect foundation for the new year ahead. Here's What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why discipline beats motivation for lasting financial results The role of mindset in determining your money success or struggles How financial systems create freedom instead of restriction Building accountability through money coaching and support systems Real client success stories: credit score increases, debt payoff, mindset shifts The power of imperfect action over waiting for perfect conditions The Perfect Year-End Reflection: After 211 episodes and countless client transformations, these five lessons represent the most powerful shifts that create lasting financial change. Whether you crushed 2025 or struggled through it, these insights will help you enter 2026 with clarity, confidence, and a concrete plan for growth. Here's a glance at this episode: [02:29] Discipline Over Motivation: Why the hard days make the biggest difference in your financial progress. [05:10] Mindset Transformation: How money coaching rewires your relationship with money, confidence, and self-worth. [09:27] Systems Create Freedom: How financial organization eliminates stress and creates lasting peace with money. Wow, how is it that another year is almost behind us? The older I get, the more I feel like time is just flying by, and if you're not intentional about making the most of your time, you'll get left behind chasing goals you never quite reach. This reality feels even more true as I reflect on 2025 and look ahead to what I want to accomplish in 2026. In the spirit of making the most of my time and staying intentional with my progress, I'm a firm believer in the power of planning, setting, and reflecting on goals…both personal goals for my life and business goals for City Girl Savings. But here's what makes goal-setting even more powerful: accountability. Sharing my goals publicly with the CGS community holds me accountable to actually working toward them instead of letting them sit in a journal collecting dust. It also gives you real-world examples of how entrepreneurs balance personal wellness goals with business growth targets, manage financial priorities while building wealth, and adjust expectations when things don't go as planned. In this transparent episode, I'm sharing my complete personal and business goals for 2026, along with honest progress updates on the goals I set for 2025…the wins, the misses, and the valuable lessons learned along the way. From maxing out my Roth IRA to managing a short-term rental property, from improving profit margins to taking a podcast break for mental health, I'm pulling back the curtain on what it really looks like to run a business while prioritizing personal wellness. My hope is that you finish this episode feeling empowered and inspired to set and reflect on your own 2026 goals, whether they're financial, health-related, business-focused, or all of the above. Here's What You'll Learn in This Episode: Balancing ambitious financial goals with realistic expectations Investment strategies: maxing out retirement accounts (Roth IRA) Real estate investment lessons from managing a short-term rental property Business finance: increasing profit margins while managing revenue fluctuations Health and wellness goals for entrepreneurs and busy professionals Managing screen time and reducing social media-induced anxiety Prioritizing nervous system regulation and work-life balance Setting business revenue and profitability targets for sustainable growth Radical Transparency for Accountability: This isn't a highlight reel—it's an honest look at what worked, what didn't, and how an entrepreneur balances million-dollar net worth building with mental health priorities. Use this as your roadmap for setting realistic, meaningful goals that honor both your ambitions and your wellbeing. Here's a glance at this episode: [03:37] Health Goal Progress: Hitting 12,000 daily steps 90% of the year and evolving fitness goals with naturopathic support. [06:43] Real Estate Reality Check: Palm Springs Airbnb lessons—prioritizing memories over profit and managing investment expectations. [11:35] Email Growth Strategy: How City Girl Savings tracks newsletter subscribers and sets baseline metrics for growth. [16:42] 2026 Life Goals: Planning a courthouse wedding and 3-week European honeymoon adventure! [18:51] Nervous System Regulation Priority: Why slowing down and reducing stress is Raya's top personal focus for 2026. Rate, Review, & Follow: Did you love this episode? “Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it.” Proverbs 22:6 “In the absence of a faith environment where the child may live, of which he feels himself a part and in which he feels himself almost held, we risk cultivating hothouse flowers in the atrium, which are incapable of enduring the severity of the external climate. On the other hand, without a place where the child can come in touch with the religious reality in a way and at a rhythm suitable to children, there is the danger the child will pass by great things without ever being able to grasp, interiorize, and make these realities his own. The initiation of a child into Christian life is not a work that can be fulfilled by the catechist alone, nor by the parents alone, It is the whole Christian community that proclaims Christ, and the child must enter into contact with the entire Christian community. The catechist's work – valuable as it is- must be sustained and confirmed by a community that lives what the catechist proclaims.” Sofia Cavalletti, The Religious Potential of the Child page 30-31 Submit a Podcast Listener Question HERE! The atrium is a community in which children and adults live together a religious experience that facilitates participation in the wider community of the family, the church, and other social spheres. • The atrium is a place of prayer, in which work and study spontaneously become meditation, contemplation, and prayer. • The atrium is a place in which the only Teacher is Christ; both children and adults place themselves in a listening stance before his Word and seek to penetrate the mystery of the liturgical celebration.” - 32 Points of Reflection of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Submit a Podcast Listener Question HERE! The training room is changing, and it's not going back. In this episode, I sat down with Phil Friedman, the founder and CEO of CGS Inc., to explore how AI, avatars, and immersive simulations are rewriting the playbook on workplace training. With over four decades at the helm of CGS—a company he built from scratch after immigrating to the US—Phil brings a perspective shaped by both technological evolution and global business experience. The heart of our conversation centered on Cicero, CGS's AI-driven platform that blends artificial intelligence with extended reality to create dynamic, real-time role-play simulations. Far from just another e-learning tool, Cicero tackles one of the biggest blind spots in workforce development today: soft skills. From objection handling in medical device sales to flight attendant training and fast-food onboarding, the platform is being used to scale training faster, cheaper, and more effectively than traditional classroom or online methods ever could. What really stood out was how Phil views this as a moment of acceleration rather than disruption. AI isn't here to replace human trainers or eliminate roles; it's a tool that can deepen learning and speed up how people acquire both interpersonal and job-specific skills. In a world where young workers are more comfortable with gaming engines than whiteboards, the immersive, responsive nature of AI-powered simulations offers a natural fit. Phil shared compelling stories from industries like healthcare, aviation, and fast food, where training time has been slashed from months to days. But more than the metrics, it's the idea that training can now adapt in real time, simulate unpredictable human behavior, and offer meaningful feedback immediately that points to where we're headed next. As AI and XR technologies converge, what will it mean when every employee can have a personalized, just-in-time coach at their fingertips?

AUDIOBOOK: Audiobook – Now Available on Audible CGSUSA is excited to offer you the audio version of The Religious Potential of the Child – 3rd Edition by Sofia Cavalletti, read by Rebekah Rojcewicz! This book serves as a companion to the second volume, The Religious Potential of the Child 6 to 12 Years Old. The desire to have this essential text available in audio has been a long-held goal for many. The work of many hands has combined to bring this release to life as an audiobook.
