The Chiefs are relishing in their victory against the Highlanders in last nights clash, ticking up vital points as the Super Rugby season slowly draws to a close. Their 42-12 win came at the expense of injured fullback Damian Mackenzie, who was knocked out in the second half after copping a boot to the chin, while the Highlanders lost Caleb Tangitau to a non-contact knee injury at the end of the match. The result shifts them back near the top of the ladder, putting them on track to host the playoffs as the end of the season draws near. The Chiefs have made it to the grand final three times in the past, but have yet to claim the title, and first five Josh Jacomb told Piney if they're lucky enough to reach the final then they'll have to address it, but also understand that it's in the past. “All we can focus on is what's in front of us.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

One-hundred-and-sixty-two years ago, we started a podcast. Well, actually, it wasn't quite that long ago. We started Inside Trader Joe's in 2018, thinking it would be a five-episode opportunity for us to tell our story from our point of view. And now here we are, eight years and more than 100 episodes later. Our crystal ball did not reveal this future, and yet, as we look back on those original episodes – the First Five, if you will – we're struck by how much remains the same. We're still all about the products, our Values still guide us, we're definitely dedicated to not taking ourselves too seriously, the store is still most definitely our brand, and we take great pride in being good neighbors, in every neighborhood Trader Joe's. Take a little walk down memory lane with us as we revisit the First Five. And keep listening for more – just like you'll always find new products in your neighborhood store, we always have more stories to tell! Transcript (PDF)

Step back into one of New Zealand’s most thrilling sporting moments with the latest episode of Kärcher’s “Blast from the Past.” ACC Head G Lane, Kieran Read, and Dylan Cleaver transport listeners to Eden Park on October 16, 2011, the night the All Blacks faced off against Australia in a Rugby World Cup Semi-Final that captured the nation’s imagination. This wasn’t just another game; it was a clash loaded with history, anxiety, and the hope of ending a 24-year World Cup drought. The Wallabies arrived as formidable opponents, having recently beaten the All Blacks and claimed the Tri-Nations title. New Zealanders feared this Australian side more than any other, and the pressure was immense. The All Blacks, missing key players like Dan Carter and relying on the young Aaron Cruden at First-Five, had to dig deep. The tension was palpable, both on the field and among the 60,000 fans packed into the stadium. From the opening whistle, the match delivered drama and excitement. The crowd’s reaction to Quade Cooper set the tone, and early All Blacks dominance was highlighted by Israel Dagg’s dazzling run and Ma’a Nonu’s unforgettable try. Tactical battles played out across the pitch, with New Zealand successfully neutralising Australian threats like David Pocock. Off-field stories and moments of levity added to the atmosphere, but the focus remained on the relentless pursuit of victory. The win in this semifinal was more than just a step toward the Final; it was a cathartic release for New Zealand rugby, breaking the “chokers” label and transforming the team’s mindset. The All Blacks’ performance showcased resilience, skill, and composure under pressure, setting the stage for future triumphs and inspiring a new generation of fans...Blast From The Past is brought to you by the legends at Kärcher! Liz and Sarah discuss feeling invigorated by the new slate of projects they’re working on. Right now they’re basking in a creative bubble — the hard part comes later. In The Craft (& Fain), they share wisdom from one of their favorite producers, Michael Goldstein — to make a TV pitch land with executives, the Pilot and Season One should each have two or three “oh shit” moments. Next, Liz and Sarah announce The First Five, a new Substack offering in which they critique the First Five pages of scripts from annual subscribers. This week’s Hollywood Hack is inspired by Sarah’s journey into gardening — the Vigoro 3-tier stackable planter. Then Sarah shares a recent Celebrity Sighting. She and Violet saw Megan and Yoonchae from the group Katseye in the audience at the Blackpink concert. Finally, Liz recommends the book Wild West Village by Lola Kirke.
