Love Anarchy
Ep. 191 - Cuddle Puddle: A Platonic Intimacy Experience

Love Anarchy

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 6, 2025 43:01

Send us a textIn this episode, host Andrea Atherton welcomes guest Jessica Langley to explore the transformative power of platonic touch, with a special focus on the cuddle puddle—a communal, heart-centered space for safe, nurturing, and non-sexual touch. In a world where physical connection is often limited to romantic relationships, the cuddle puddle offers a radical alternative: a space where people can relax, be held, and experience the deep healing that comes from simply being in gentle, consensual contact with others. Jessica shares how these experiences help regulate the nervous system, release stress, and foster a profound sense of belonging.Andrea and Jessica dive into the nuance of what makes the cuddle puddle so powerful—not just in offering comfort but also in helping participants find their voice regarding boundaries and self-advocacy. In this space, individuals learn to ask for what they need, whether it's a hand to hold, a back to lean on, or a space to simply be present. By practicing clear communication and consent, participants build confidence in expressing their desires while also becoming more attuned to the unspoken language of others. Reading body language, sensing energy shifts, and respecting silent cues become second nature in this deeply intuitive and connected experience.Throughout the conversation, Andrea and Jessica highlight how the cuddle puddle is more than just a comforting embrace—it's a practice in emotional intelligence, energetic awareness, and relational growth. By engaging in platonic touch with mindfulness, people cultivate a deeper understanding of their own needs while learning to honor the boundaries of others. If you've ever longed for an authentic, platonic connection in your life but didn't know where to start, this episode will open your eyes to a whole new way of embracing the power of touch, communication, and energetic presence.Jessica LangleyEdenology website: https://www.edenologyco.com/cuddle-puddle?fbclid=IwY2xjawHzdi5leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHVCruVSgJ2aV17RSGw1EV8FKBT__sZM_83oG1JGfXDV0Xs669Np5IBETKw_aem_fJqRQMxtOAJNBcsX1wQR5Qbooking link: https://www.wellnessliving.com/rs/event/edenology_holistic_wellness?k_class=729862&k_class_tab=52783https://versicolorcoaching.com/cuddle-puddlehttps://versicolorcoaching.com/Intsagram: @jessicathesexwitch4o30-minute Consultation with Andrea https://www.andreaatherton.com/booking-calendarAndrea Atherton Websitehttps://www.andreaatherton.com/Love Anarchy Websitehttps://www.andreaatherton.com/podcasthttps://loveanarchypodcast.buzzsprout.comLove Anarchy Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/loveanarchypodcast/Andrea Atherton Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/andreaatherton-17/

For a location , they renovated an old milking barn. Most recently, they started canning during the pandemic. This was an initially forced transformation of their business but it has worked well. First to be tasted is their Drysdale Cider, made with 4 different culinary apples, golden delicious, granny smith, fuji and gala. It classifies as a dry cider on the dryness scale. Juncture Taproom Juncture Taproom is celebrating its 6th anniversary. He has been planning this celebration for a long time. NorCal Beer Geeks and Humboldt Cider have made a collaboration called Sally's Jamaica. It is flavored with Jamaica flower like the refreshing Mexican beverage which is made from Hibiscus flowers. It makes a light and dry apple cider. They are bringing in all the musicians and food vendors who are with them all year too, for the celebration. Juncture Taproom is located at 4357 Montgomery Drive, at the corner of Mission. Russian River Brewing Co. is open in Santa Rosa on 4th St. and at their big Windsor location. Click the logo to visit their website for up-to-date hours, menus, beers and more info. They are also tasting the Cherry cider, flavored with two kinds of cherries, Montmorency for tartness and Morello for color. This won gold at GLINTCAP, the Great Lakes International Cider Competition, which is the biggest cider competition in the country. It won despite their fear of heat damage before the tasting. Visit our sponsor Victory House at Poppy Bank Epicenter online, for their latest viewing and menu options. NorCal Beer Geeks collaborates with VetConnect, to help veterans with all kinds of personal services, including helping them navigate available services, because sometimes some veterans are not even aware that they are eligible for certain services. The last Humboldt Cider product tasted today is the Gravenstein Cider, made with fruit from old trees in northern California, which used to be more abundant, and which produce the best cider out there. Chris Dreyer is the CEO and Founder of Rankings.io, an SEO agency that helps elite personal injury law firms land serious injury and auto accident cases through Google's organic search results. His company has the distinction of making the Inc. 5000 list five years in a row. Chris began his career with a History Education degree and landed a job out of college as a detention room supervisor. The surplus of free time in that job allowed him to develop a side hustle in affiliate marketing, where he grew to manage over 100 affiliate sites simultaneously, allowing him to turn his side gig into a full-time one. When his time in affiliate marketing came to an end, he segued into SEO for attorneys, while also having time to become a top-ranked online poker player. In addition to owning and operating Rankings, Chris is a real estate investor and podcast host, as well as a member of the Forbes Agency Council, the Rolling Stone Culture Council, Business Journals Leadership Trust, Fast Company Executive Board, and Newsweek Expert Forum. Chris's first book, Niching Up: The Narrower the Market, the Bigger the Prize is slated for release in late 2022.  In this episode, we discuss: Chris's start as a part-time marketer and how he fell into working with law firms. Annie Ladino is a Colombia-born, Chicago-grown chica with a heart of gold and lightworker goals! On today's episode she shares her story from working in fashion and on celebrity cover shoots for a famous magazine, to her struggles with purpose, health and trauma, to living her life with connection higher source thanks to work with plant medicine, ritual, and a path of reciprocity. About Annie: Annie Ladino is a certified Astrologer, Kambo Practitioner, Crystal Healer, and Psychedelic Spiritual Integration Coach. Born in Bogotá, Columbia, Annie has deep ancestral roots connected to the rituals of Yagé, one of the oldest forms of Ayahuasca. At the age of three, she and her parents relocated to the United States where she would grow up in Chicago with a profound love of fashion. Her passion and talents took her to New York where she went on to graduate from FIT before landing her dream job at Elle Magazine. Annie worked closely with Susan Miller, which sparked a deep love and on-going study of astrology. After 13 years of working as a stylist in the fashion industry, Annie found herself suffering from Lupus which inspired her to turn her eye for style inward to focus on inner beauty and healing. Within two months of deepening her work with Kambo, Annie discovered that she no longer had symptoms of this autoimmune disease. For many years, Annie has served under the tutelage of incredible healers, and is honored to continue to hold space for others along their spiritual journeys. Although Annie has sat with many different medicines, she believes that the true way to heal is through integration-- the connection and the return back to one's own wholeness. POINT BREAK turns 30 in a couple months and what better way to celebrate an absolute classic than to riff on it! On this episode we talk about everything that turns this movie into something uniquely sublime: Patrick Swayze's legendary, intoxicating turn as Bodhi; Keanu Reeves' still-green take on Johnny Utah; Gary Busey's all-time role as Agent Pappas; and Kathryn Bigelow's ingenious direction and writing that elevated this movie to a classic that's still talked about today. Plus Bryne makes a case for this being the most Saggittarius-centric movie of all time. We also talk about the point of view of this movie and how its platonic love story between the two leads and how that may have hurt its chances with the heterosexual male of 1991. The skydiving scenes, the iconic foot chase, the robberies. THE SURFING MONTAGES. It's all here. Ride with us. How do you make the "ask"? Maybe it's simpler than it seems. On this episode of the Grounded Content podcast I talk to my friend Matt B. Davis.  He's not an expert in marketing, or personal branding, or networking. He's the podcast host who created Obstacle Racing Media, a podcast & media business that has grown from a hobby to a full time job.  One that supports his family. He and I talk about this stuff a lot - about what we do to be successful in the independent media world, to market our shows (and for me my client's shows,) to market ourselves, and our products. What works, what's sketchy? What's the latest BS being peddled out there? The reason I really invited him on is because he calls me out on my BS. This episode is really a "spirited" conversation between friends. It may be more conversational than some of the others, but there are some solid tactics and take aways in there too. On this episode Kristin talks about clarity. She explains why clarity is so important and how it helps achieving our goals. If you're trying to create more clarity in your life or business, Kristin recommends you start with a “big picture vision”, and from that vision you can narrow down goals that you can pursue. Episode Highlights 01:30 - If you're seeking more clarity with your goals, start with the vision 03:25 - Our visions are our roadmap 05:05 - First rule of creating a vision is to treat it like a draft, the second rule is to dream as big as you can dream 07:10 - When creating a vision make a list of wants which is going to be your “why/Y” and your motive to pursue the vision 09:42 - The clearer the goal that you set, the more successful you will be achieving it Connect with Kristin https://www.instagram.com/meetkristinburke/ (@meetkristinburke) on Intsagram and on her website kristinburke.com

Kelly Sayre teaches situational awareness to women so they have the confidence to move forward and live life on their own terms. Her teaching is offered through speaking engagements, classes, one-on-one consultations and online training programs. Just because it's always been done a certain way, doesn't make it right. For years, the world of self-defence has been taught from a man's point of view. What if there's a better way? A viewpoint that takes into consideration the way women see the world and takes their natural strengths in to account? That's where Kelly comes in - her company is a disruptor of the self-defence industry and challenges the status quo.
