On this episode we talk about one of the most dramatically interconnected men in conspiracy lore; a man who had more fingers in more pies than Mr Kipling and who was responsible for more rock than Dwayne Johnson. The king of cocaine and the reason anyone had something to toot throughout the 70s and 80s in America; this episode we are talking about Barry Seal. You may have heard of Barry from the 2017 Tom Cruise movie 'American Made'; but he is much more than some haphazard drug mule that was coopted by the CIA for nefarious black ops; he was a tour de force as an aviator and, so it transpired, as an international arms and drugs dealer. He dealt with the top tier of both sides from Pablo Escobar to George HW Bush and operated at a level where Presidents and State Governors knew him by name (and even got him off a few crimes now and then) His ultimately death is still a mystery; like, we know who shot him but the real question is WHY? Barry was so deep into so many dark corners of what we now call the Deep State operations and was a cash cow with the cocaine and arms dealing that he probably has a dossier as tall as the twin towers on all the movers and shakers behind the scenes. In this episode we talk about all this and more with comedians Gerry McBride and Damian Clark. You know Gerry from the episode on Chris Benoit and Damian joined my for the Port Arthur Massacre episode. Laughs and facts all through this one and there are loads more to come! It's been a long and tough time for those working in the entertainment industry. They were the first to shut down, and will be the last to get back to work. [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/08/18125941/DannyDamo_1808.mp3"][/audio] Irish entertainers have had to pivot their entire career and two people who have made hay while the sun shone was Danny O'Brien and Damian Clark. The garden giggers are back on stage and they joined Dermot and Dave to chat about their return to the festival circuit with the Fiestaval Street Arts, Comedy & Music Festival and the Ringsend Comedy Festival. The two also paid tribute to the late Sean Lock, and explained why they need the Government to act now on the entertainment industry. You can catch Danny and Damian's chat by clicking play above.

TRUE CRIME -On this episode we talk about the catalyst for disarming the Australian population and an event that was so destructive to society at the time; it is used as the yard stick to measure the severity of all mass shootings until just very recently; this time we are talking about Martin Bryant and The Port Arthur Massacre.Port Arthur was a mass shooting perpetrated by one Martin Bryant in April 1996 where 25 people were wounded and 35 people killed at the hands of Bryant and a variety of firearms and other methods. Bryant was a local oddball and a very wealthy man but was of 'diminished capacity' according to locals. A chequered upbringing and early life, mixed with some convenient accidents and suspicious deaths of wealthy close friends of Bryant's; paints a picture of a ruthless man who would kill to get what he wanted. But the truth is far from this simple and clean cut. Accusations abound of US and Israeli military personnel carrying out the shooting and the whole operation being a false flag in order to trigger the national disdain for guns and their supported abolition in Australia from the mid 90s onward. Some other very interesting twists and turns in this case make these accusations and conspiracy rumours actually seem plausible. _____________________________Joining me on this episode is comedian Damian Clark and you can find all his stuff on his website here https://www.damianclark.com or follow him on Instagram for the craic https://www.instagram.com/damianclark/ where he shares his cartoons and stand up clips and its all really very good! Andrew Stanley is an Irish stand up who has appeared at numerous festivals worldwide including The Cat Laughs in Kilkenny, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Sydneys Cracker Comedy Festival with hour long shows. These included a show with Australian comic, Damian Clark, called I Dare Ya, which went on to become a hit TV show on Irish station RTÉ 2. He also took part in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow in 2009 and the New Zealand Comedy Festival in Auckland in 2010. He was invited to the prestigious Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal where he performed alongside Ardal O'Hanlon, Colm O'Regan and Neil Delamere as part of the O'Comics show. A few years ago I toured The States with Andrew taking in KC, LA, NY, SF, C and B ( you can guess where the last two are and it's not Cincinatti and Buffalo). Where ever we went he developed an immediate rapport with the audience and blew them away with his improvisational crowd work. We chat about his technique and how the scene has changed since our different times starting out in comedy.

We chatted about his early Dublin days, being a fish out of water here in Ireland like myself, and then I found out about his amazing 2015 Edinburgh show about his phone being stolen. Its a super interesting tale. Plus we came up with a novel snapchat idea that may take off. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
