The show covers various political topics including Donald Trump's tariffs proposal on Mexico and Canada due to the fentanyl crisis, Trump's potential intervention in the Ukraine-Russia war, and the critique of Trump's potential new Department of Government Efficiency led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. Additionally, the episode touches on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's rumored separation, McDonald's policy changes, and Curtis Sliwa's update on illegal aliens in New York City. Personal reflections on Wendy Williams' health issues and listener call-ins from Patricia and Jacqueline are also featured. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Edward Durr is being called a dangerous man. Why? Because he, a mere truck driver with a miniscule $3,000 war chest, had the audacity to run for state Senate in New Jersey, beating out the entrenched incumbent, a professional politician with immense power, a thirty-year history in Government, and a $300,000 campaign budget. When he takes office in January, he wants to fight for more gun freedoms and fewer taxes. Isaac talked to him about his reasons, his goals, and the lessons he's learned along the way. In today's final hour, Dom Giordano announces his 2021 Local Person of the Year after a week-long event in which he asked for listeners to both nominate and vote on who they believe deserve the title. After tabulating the votes, it was determined that Dr. David Damsker would be awarded the Local Person of the Year, but regrettably due to politics, Dr. Damsker was unable to join the Dom Giordano Program to accept the award. Giordano plays back clips of Dr. Damsker, further explaining reasons behind the nomination and award, and tells how notable the other nominees were, reflecting upon the years of Edward Durr, Steve Keeley, and Clarice Schillinger. Then, after playing his Money Melody for the day, Giordano moves into a discussion about the political scene both nationally and locally, discussing the chances of Dr. Oz in the Senate race and other Republicans who have thrown their hat into the ring. TRUCKING COMPANIES CHEATING ELD'S. There are plenty of trucking companies that are erasing driver logs in order to give the drivers fresh hours to run on. When interviewing drivers, we have been told several times that their company will reset their hours so that a load can be delivered and a fresh load can be picked up. Although a carrier may reset the logs and show on their end that driver is compliant. The main company that holds the driver logs has record of everything that goes on. This will prove to be a carriers downfall if a D.O.T. audit takes place on the log company itself. The log companies records will not match up with said carriers, resulting in huge fines. Ed Durr a trucker from New Jersey just became a law maker in the senate Edward Durr a 25 year truck driver, spent less than $200 on his campaign and beat a long standing senator. Durr beat Steve Sweeney the senate president and has become senator-elect. Now that the trucking industry has a voice in the senate, we are in hopes that someone will finally give truck drivers a break. Truck Driver Fired for refusing to run over on hours A Houston trucking company crane masters will have to pay the former driver $24,000 in total for back wages and interest. The surface transportation assistance act was created to protect truck drivers from being bullied into driving tired and over the regulated hours. You can read the full story here. In the final hour of today's Dom Giordano Program, newly elected New Jersey State Senator Edward Durr joins Giordano for the first time since unseating political powerhouse and State Senate President Steve Sweeney in the recent election. First, Durr thanks Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli who conceded to Governor Phil Murphy after losing the election, telling the Ciattarelli was the opposite of a selfish candidate, helping with Durr's campaign at every turn. Then, Giordano and Durr contemplate the political temperature of South Jersey, with Giordano asking Durr why he believes he won, which he attributes mostly to Gov. Phil Murphy's policies. Also, Durr lays out the roadmap of what he hopes to accomplish in office, discussing both the incredibly high taxes in New Jersey and overbearing Coronavirus edicts set forth by the Murphy administration. This episode is FILLED with a truckload of news from around the country that directly relates to what's happening in today's supply chain and current political environment. Then Aaron and Michael provide an overview of what's in the $1.5T Infrastructure bill and what it has to do with the trucking industry before discussing what the Biden administration's vaccine mandate's impact could be for businesses under 100 employees. Then they shout out Edward Durr, a truck driver who now has a state senate seat in New Jersey after spending significantly less on his political campaign than his opponent. THEN they dive into the recent move into the brand new PDQ America office and the experience of bringing on 5 new employees into the business - all while moving a lot of freight this week. Enjoy!
