Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Errol Spence will all this weekend exhibit what is left of themselves. Even if it turns out to be very little, that should still be enough for Joshua and Fury to triumph against Kristian Prenga and Mariusz Wach respectively. If the point of those exercises is questionable then the task that awaits Spence is, by comparison, somewhat formidable. He takes on Tim Tszyu in Australia in a bout set at 160lbs. Will Spence show he still has what it takes at 36 or will he become the latest athlete to realise that time is the cruellest opponent of them all? Elsewhere, Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn reminded everyone how much noise they can make and how hard they can appear.  Thanks for listening and for your support, amigos.   Learn more about your ad choices. Send us Fan MailBoxing doesn't change because fans argue online, it changes when the business forces fighters to pick a direction. We start with Devin Haney facing a real crossroads: negotiate the WBO mandatory with Keyshawn Davis, risk a purse bid, or vacate and chase a bigger moment. We talk through what each option signals, why timing matters, and why a “dangerous fight” isn't always the same as a “sellable fight.” Then we get into the matchup boxing fans keep demanding: Haney vs Shakur Stevenson at 144. We break down the style clash, the weight talk, and the core question of how rounds get won when both guys are elite technicians. We also address what Shakur has shown lately on the front foot, why his accuracy changes the scoring optics, and what the Ryan Garcia fight did to the public conversation around Haney's defense and durability. From there, it's the big headline: Shakur Stevenson signing with Zuffa Boxing. We dig into what “what's next” really means, how Saudi funding and platform alignment can make cross-promotional fights easier, and why belts might become optional when the bag is massive. We close with the wild side of the sport: Teofimo Lopez vs Rolly Romero, Tank Davis' next move and star power, Floyd Mayweather headlines, and the Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn twist that puts Zuffa right back in the title picture. If you're into boxing news, fight breakdowns, and the behind-the-scenes politics that decide the schedule, hit subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave us a review.

We're ready for a heavyweight title showdown in an unusual place, the Pyramids of Egypt, as Oleksandr Usyk is back in 2026 to defend against a kick boxing champion. We cover over the full card and lots of fight news too on the "Big Fight Weekend Preview Podcast!"Host T.J. Rives is back with insider Dan Rafael to go over it all and give their takes and predictions. They start with Saturday's Ring magazine DAZN PPV card in Giza, EgyptOleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven, 12 rounds, for lineal/WBC heavyweight title. Will this be a joke/easy work for Usyk or does Verhoeven get lucky and make it interesting? Also, Hamzah Sheeraz vs. Alem Begic, 12 rounds, for vacant WBO super middleweight title. Sheeraz is a rising star in search of a world title and could be a future opponent for Canelo down the road.Next, Shakhram Giyasov vs. Jack Catterall, 12 rounds, for vacant WBA “regular” welterweight title. And, Frank Sanchez vs Richard Torrez Jr., 12 rounds, IBF heavyweight eliminator. A big step up for Torrez in level of competition. Also, Friday night's Golden Boy DAZN card in San Jose, California Rising Amari Jones vs. Vincenzo Gualtieri, 12 rounds, IBF middleweight eliminator. Dan has big expectations for Jones in this one.Next, some newsDuring Ryan Garcia's appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on Monday, he announced he is fighting Conor Benn on Sept. 12 in Las Vegas. It may be happening, but we doubt that date and same time as the Canelo PPV in Saudi Arabia.Next, Dan is reporting that Zuffa Boxing is planning its first American card outside of Las Vegas for July 26in NY, where Edgar Berlanga, Richardson Hitchins & Sergey Derevyanchenko will all be on the card.  Also, William Zepeda and Lamont Roach Jr., who have had a deal in place for weeks, will meet for the vacant WBC lightweight title in the headliner of a Golden Boy card on August 1, probably at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The card will also be an edition of “The Fight” series and simulcast from DAZN on TNT in the U.S.  MVP Promotions has banned Claressa Shields from all its future events after she got into a physical altercation with MVP fighter Alycia Baumgardner during the MVP-promoted MMA card topped by Ronda Rousey-Gina Carano on Saturday nightt. Can't we all get along? And, finally, a few words on the death at age 81 of significant manager Dennis Rappaport, who co-managed Gerry Cooney to the heavyweight title shot vs. Holmes in their mega fight and managed Oleg Maskaev to the WBC heavyweight title in 2008. Though not yet formally announced, Ryan Garcia has signalled that a showdown with Conor Benn, at welterweight, will happen in Las Vegas on September 12. It seems certain to be one of the year's biggest and most lucrative contests albeit a divisive one given their chequered pasts with drug-testing agencies. It's set to occur on the same day that Canelo Alvarez returns, in Saudi Arabia, to challenge for a super middleweight belt against Christian Mbilli. Does this mean that Turki Alalshikh is plotting another all-conquering weekend extravaganza? Closer to home, in Doncaster, Dave Allen's place in the heavyweight landscape was again revealed when he was pulled out in three rounds against Filip Hrgovic. The result was predictable, but again brings into focus the role of referees, trainers and doctors when it comes to stopping a fight. In This Week we go back to 1990, a new decade in its infancy and two of the finest fighters of the time – Pernell ‘Sweet Pea' Whittaker and Azumah Nelson – making their cases to be recognised among the leaders of the sport. Tyson Fury makes his latest return from retirement on Saturday night with a tough but very winnable match-up against Arslanbek Makhmudov.Back in January 2025, Fury called time on his career for the fifth time after back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk but he's since decided to fight on, and a win over Makhmudov would set him up for either a trilogy meeting with Usyk or a long-awaited tussle with British rival Anthony Joshua – or potentially both.

Send us Fan MailSkipping a week sounds harmless until you come back and realize boxing never stops moving. We kick things off with a real-life reset: California's laid-back vibe, the gut punch of seeing Skid Row up close, and a Tennessee detour that somehow ends with us getting humbled by “hot chicken” we had no business challenging. Then we do what we came to do and start catching up fast. From there, we dig into Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman for the WBC super welterweight belt, why Thurman looked like a guy fighting uphill from round one, and what inactivity does to timing and legs when you're no longer the young version of yourself.
