Lauren, Gabe and I highlight the amazing lessons for life and success so eloquently described and intertwined in the Traveler's Gift. It is a visit back in history but the Seven Decisions is extremely relevant today! Are you feeling stuck and need some inspiration then this is worth the listen...and read! Lauren Nanni is a certified Life Coach and owns Life Coaching with Lauren where she focuses on helping women (and men too!) create and LIVE lives they love. She developed her love of coaching at a young age, although she didn't know what it was necessarily called at the time, she felt the profound impacts on her own life and knew she wanted to give back in a similar way. Lauren's mission today is to promote the possibility, show people that they are not stuck where they are, and the option to create a new path is always available. Gabe Adams is a Growth Consultant for Empire Growth Partners as well as Co-Owner of West Bank Golf Club, Downtown Cleveland's first and only golf simulator venue and bar. Should activity coaching for interns look different than coaching for full-time FRs? What's different and what is the same? In this episode, Sarah Ward and Gabe Adams share their thoughts about activity coaching for interns; how to coach in groups, how to keep things fun, and how to set effective expectations. Tune in to this episode and hear more actionable advice and recommendations from our guests today. Highlights: 05:06 – Our recommendation is that they`re focused on getting 100 fact finders per year. 09:33 – Review goals, review their activity, and have them review their production progress to date. The second thing is for them to look ahead at their next month and ultimately visualize the process that it's going to take to achieve. 11:53 – High expectations in general just means that we care about you, we expect a lot of you, and what you do matters. 17:45 – You mentioned the aspect of fun, and I think that is so important, and it's hard to interject that organically but I think that things like music can impact our brain and the way we feel and behave. I have been busting to share this week's episode with you guys and if you've run into me at all since I met Gabe and Adam last December, I have probably already talked your ear off about them. I was lucky enough to meet this lovely couple during my very quick trip to LA as we were on the same shoot together and had a lovely whirlwind few days as a trio. You can probably tell that meeting new people and hearing all about their lives is one of my very favourite things and these two are so fascinating both separately and together, but our time as a trio was short. So, you and me both are hearing all the finer details for the first time and after this chat, I loved them even more. With Gabe being born without limbs and adopted from Sao Paolo Brazil to Utah and both Gabe and Adam growing up in the Mormon faith which came into conflict with their sexuality, these two bring such unique and interesting perspectives to this chat on finding yourself and your yay. Then the story of the finding each OTHER is a beautiful one, with their wedding taking place just before we met launching Gabe into global Tiktok fame and consequently a whole new career. I'll let them tell you the rest themselves - they are wise beyond their young years with such beautiful messages about self-acceptance, embracing your uniqueness and building a strong relationship. I hope you are as inspired and delighted by them as I am.
In this episode, we speak with the fantastic research duo Gabrielle Adams and Leidy Klotz about their work on the science of less: subtraction. Their research on the science of problem-solving has identified this fascinating bias against subtraction. In other words, when we solve problems, we tend to favor adding things over subtracting things, even when subtraction offers a better solution. We have a massive subtraction blindspot. We had a great discussion, exploring all aspects of subtraction, from their research to tips for how teams and individuals can overcome it and why "jeggings" are severely underrated. Enjoy!
