On Todays show James Dwayne Tim and Elder Jimmy Wayne Williams delve into theological discussions, particularly focusing on the concept of holiness and sanctification. Jimmy Wayne Williams explains that holiness is about being set apart for God, guided by the Holy Spirit, and not necessarily about avoiding all mistakes. He emphasizes that true sin involves rebellion against God, not just making mistakes. The discussion also touches on the importance of personal effort in pursuing holiness, the role of the Holy Spirit, and the distinction between intellectual control and spiritual guidance. The participants debate the nature of sin, the role of the Holy Spirit, and the importance of understanding doctrine through scripture and personal study. The discussion centered on the concept of Sola Scriptura, emphasizing its role as the sole, infallible source of authority. Participants debated the importance of aligning teachings with biblical principles and criticized traditions that contradict scripture. They discussed the historical context of the Catholic Church's practices, including the prohibition on priests marrying, and the need for spiritual focus over political influence. The conversation also touched on the interpretation of Revelation and the importance of discipleship. Additionally, they mentioned practical matters like church services, nursery facilities, and local businesses, highlighting the personal and communal aspects of their faith.

Andrea Stolpe is a renowned, multi-platinum creative consultant whose methodology for songwriters and music artists has been taught worldwide. A writer with 20+ years of experience in the music industry, Andrea has written for such artists as Faith Hill, Julianne Hough, and Jimmy Wayne. She has turned her experience into award-winning online courses and live events as well as numerous articles, books, and resources. As one who has followed and learned from her for years, I really enjoyed speaking with Andrea. She shared lots of practical songwriting advice musicians from any genre can use. Andrea shared her story and how she continues to hone her songwriting craft. We spoke about the vulnerability and openness songwriting requires, as well as how to grow by working with collaborators.  Listen on Apple, Spotify, YouTube Takeaways: Simplicity is key in songwriting, focusing on the core elements of melody, lyrics, rhythm, and chords. Focus on expressing yourself authentically. Write songs that have substance and meaning, rather than relying on cliches or low-hanging fruit. Collaboration and production can enhance a song's message and impact. Take the time to reflect on your songs and identify areas where they may need improvement or refinement. Feedback from others can be useful, but it is important for songwriters to stay true to their own instincts and not try to wear other people's ideas as their own. Specific details in lyrics can create a vivid and relatable experience for listeners, but it is important to find the right balance between specificity and universality. Songwriting retreats provide a supportive and collaborative environment for songwriters to connect with others, overcome creative blocks, and make progress in their writing. The creative process is a journey of exploration and reaction, and it is important to embrace both the creative and critical aspects of songwriting. Having the right tools and techniques can help songwriters overcome challenges and make their creative process more efficient and effective. When John and Cherie Arscott first set foot in Africa to provide hearing aids to children, they never anticipated the ripple effect it would have on their lives. Their story, rich with compassion and the pursuit of community betterment, takes center stage as they join us on Ambassadors of Hope. We traverse the Arscotts' philanthropic journey, from the profound impact of their mission trips to their unwavering dedication to Place of Hope. Cherie opens up about the serendipitous events that led to their involvement and how the narrative of Jimmy Wayne propelled them further down the path of giving. Their advice for the philanthropically inclined and Cherie's insights into her role as Angel Mom president underscore the personal growth that accompanies acts of charity. We engage in candid discussions about seeking out organizations that resonate with our core values. We confront the reality of loss and how it fuels our passion to extend support to children in need, shedding light on the transformative nature of philanthropy. The Arscotts and Lisa Inman McDulin, Southern Palm Beach County Director of Advancement and Campaigns reveal the intricacies of our work with Place of Hope, focusing on how true generosity not only benefits the recipient but also enriches the giver's life. It's a narrative about the journey of personal development as much as it is about the impact of our actions within the community.Lastly, we transition to the indelible imprint philanthropy leaves on successive generations, as illustrated by the profound experiences of John and Cherie's son, Tyler. His interactions with children in need and the joy it brought to both parties exemplify how the values of giving are nurtured from a young age. We encourage families to incorporate charity into their lives, emphasizing the importance of leading by example and evaluating a charity's efficacy. Join us as we celebrate the beauty of selflessness and the legacy of generosity that John, Cherie, and their family aspire to leave behind.TakeawaysGiving back to the community instills critical values and leads to sustained happiness.True giving should be devoid of conditions or expectations.Choosing a charity that uses its resources wisely and involves the whole family can create a meaningful impact. The power of a supportive group can inspire and uplift individuals.Legacy and long-term sustainability are important considerations in philanthropy.Title Sponsor: Crypto Capital Venture | Follow Dan Gambardello's on Twitter (@cryptorecruitr)Looking for assistance  in south Florida? Thriving Beyond Belief with Cheryl Scruggs

"Imperfect follower of Jesus and really imperfect mother to two amazing human beings! Grateful to be able to do what I love!" - KLG New York Times bestselling author Kathie Lee Gifford reveals heartwarming, entertaining conversations between people and personalities who both agree and disagree about who Jesus is, his role throughout history, and his presence in our lives today. For decades Kathie Lee has had deep conversations about her faith with anyone who is interested in talking about it. What she discovered early on is most people are very willing to talk about Jesus: atheists, agnostics, Scientologists, Jews, broken-hearted Catholics, confused Baptists, Pentecostals, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Hindus alike. While some of the people Kathie Lee has spoken with do not share her belief that Jesus is the Messiah—as prophesied for centuries by prophets in the Hebrew scriptures—they nonetheless have a universal fascination with Him. This singular man who lived more than two thousand years ago, and never traveled more than one hundred miles from where He was born, managed to change the entire world. Even the way we delineate history (BC/AD) comes from His short thirty-three years of life. In The Jesus I Know, Kathie Lee shares cherished conversations that she's had with others who find Jesus to be an ancient historical figure who somehow continues to be an undeniably magnetic, relevant presence in the modern world. Those conversations include actors like Kristin Chenoweth and Cynthia Garrett, with stories of Craig Ferguson and Kevin Costner, newsmakers and news personalities like Kris Jenner, Megyn Kelly, Jason Kennedy, and Janice Dean, performers like Chynna Phillips Baldwin, Brian Welch, Jimmie Allen, and Jimmy Wayne, hitmakers like Louis York and David Pomeranz, as well as those coming from other faith traditions. Using Kathie Lee's favorite Scripture passages as scaffolding, these thought-provoking exchanges will bring His teachings to life before your very eyes. Many successful people start from humble beginnings. But country music star Jimmy Wayne’s early life can only be described as horrific. As a child he was abused, abandoned and caught up in a foster care system that did him more harm than good. On this episode of “Aim Higher,” Jimmy and I talk about how these experiences shaped both his music and writing careers and his desire to raise awareness about foster kids—since the elderly couple who finally fostered him provided him the chance to complete his education. In his bestselling book, “Walk to Beautiful,” Jimmy says that his foster mom “changed every cell in my body.” His story inspired me, and I think it will inspire you, too.

In church it was hymnals sung by choir, at home his father would introduce him to artists such as The Allman Brothers and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Being interested in music growing up eventually led to the tinkering of pianos that were at church or in the homes of family members, and also playing the trumpet for a few years in Middle School and Junior High. At the age of 13, he began to learn to play the guitar on a century-old classical guitar that his grandfather, Jim Lane Garrett, bought for him at an auction almost a decade earlier. At 17, after being involved with a band at his church for sometime, he started writing songs and playing with groups that weren't church bands. Since then, he has been playing locally in Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding areas, and has been invited to compete at the International Blues Challenge twice. Singer/songwriter Rory Feek has written multiple #1 country hits for other artists, including Collin Raye's "Someone You Used to Know,” Clay Walker's "The Chain of Love," Blake Shelton’s “Some Beach,” and Easton Corbin’s “A Little More Country Than That.” Other songs from his catalog that have landed in the Top 20 are Tracy Byrd’s “The Truth About Men,” Blaine Larsen’s “How Do You Get That Lonely,” and Jimmy Wayne’s “I Will.” Additionally, his songs have been recorded by Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Mark Wills, Waylon Jennings, Charley Pride, The Oak Ridge Boys, John Michael Montgomery, Terri Clark, and Lorrie Morgan. In 2008 Rory formed the duo Joey + Rory with his wife, Joey Martin Feek, for the CMT show Can You Duet. Their popularity led to an ACM award for Top New Vocal Duo of the Year, their own TV show, eight successful albums, and a handful of charting singles, including the self-penned songs “Cheater Cheater” and “That’s Important to Me.” Rory’s identity as a storyteller extends beyond his songs to include screenplays, TV scripts, and a popular blog, which earned a loyal following as he shared his family’s pain, triumphs, fears, and deep personal faith during Joey’s battle with terminal cervical cancer. The duo’s final album, Hymns That Are Important to Us, was released in 2016, less than a month before Joey passed away at age 40. It debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart, was certified Gold, and earned the duo a Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album. Rory’s memoir, This Life I Live, chronicles his spiritual journey, his love story with Joey, and his disarmingly vulnerable musings on his role in what he calls “God’s larger story.”

“I'm having the time of my life. I have a love affair with music, but being able to entertain people is what I get out of it.”So says Country artist Jake Clayton, the gifted singer, thought-provoking songwriter and talented multi-instrumentalist who is attracting the attention of Country fans and radio programmers everywhere with his hot new single, “What Not to Do.” Jake is the rare artist who is able to enthrall a packed house with not just his vocals, songs and showmanship, but with his amazing instrumental ability as well. Playing over 20 instruments as an in-demand Nashville session musician, he is now stepping out on his own to take his place among the greats of Country music. “What Not to Do,” a song about the consequences of poor decision-making from his album By the Light of the Moon, is an uptempo, guitar-and-fiddle-driven romp that brings Charlie Daniels to mind. But Jake's highly-recognizable tenor is all his own, inviting comparisons to Garth Brooks, The Eagles and Tim McGraw.A native of rural Mexico, Missouri, Jake was raised by musical parents who sang professionally in the area. He was given his late grandfather's fiddle – which he still plays to this day – when he was 13. But he wasn't able to stop there, soon taking up just about any instrument with strings or keys, including banjo, organ, pedal steel guitar and more, while developing his singing and stage chops. “I learned about playing music by watching VHS tapes of concerts that really captivated me, like Garth's show in Central Park,” he recalls. “But most importantly, they showed me how an artist entertains an audience.”As he learned every instrument in sight, Jake also began to understand the importance of delivering captivating vocals and crafting a good song. “The Dixie Chicks picked great, but their songs and their harmonies were powerful, too,” he remembers. “That's when I started to take singing and songwriting more seriously.”At 17 Jake was fronting his own shows. “I actually had my own theater in Missouri for a couple years, an old restaurant we converted into a venue where I could perform,” he recalls fondly. “I was doing mostly classic Country for older people who understood and loved music, which was great. Because of my age I really didn't do bar gigs much. Then I took a fill-in job playing fiddle with The Oak Ridge Boys at 19 and moved to Nashville when I was 20.”Jake has since been a utility man in the live bands of Tanya Tucker, Collin Raye, Jimmy Wayne, Joey & Rory and Jamie O'Neal, and travelled for several years with singer Sunny Sweeney on two major tours. And in 2015, Sweeney enlisted Jake and his own band to support her on Miranda Lambert's 2015 Certified Platinum Tour. Opportunities like this have made it possible for him to be part of opening slots with such Country music headliners as Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, George Strait, and many more.As an in-demand studio musician, Jake's credits include playing violin and cello on Thompson Square's #1 single, “If I Didn't Have You,” and playing fiddle, dobro and lap steel on Sunny Sweeney's critically acclaimed album, Provoked. He was the featured dobro player on Joey & Rory's Inspired DVD and TV special, and he recorded and co-produced the theme song for The Sportsman Channel's Legacy Trails TV. Jake also recorded an acclaimed instrumental album, Barnyard Stomp, which was distributed by Rock guitar legend Steve Vai's Favored Nations label. As a solo artist, Jake has opened for Charlie Daniels, Jon Pardi, and Jerrod Niemann. He's seen his childhood dreams come true as he's graced the stages of Madison Square Garden, The Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame and other legendary venues.Jake is a natural singer, with a distinctive voice that is right at home on today's Country radio. “My vocals are one of the reasons I get hired to work with other artists, besides the fact that I play so many instruments,” the gregarious artist says. “I've been influenced by the best. I could listen to Don Henley sing the phone book, and Garth, of course, really knows how to deliver a lyric. I love Collin Raye, and Jared Leto from the band 30 Seconds to Mars. And I learned so much from being on the road with Tanya about how to do things inside a melody, and how to connect with people.”Every song on By the Light of the Moon was written or co-written by Jake, whose songwriting heroes include some of the legends of Country as well as today's most successful young writers. “I'm a fan of Kacey Musgraves' writing, and I really love Sunny's writing,” he says. “I think Bob DiPiero (David Nail, Martina McBride) is one of the greats. I love Tom T. Hall. And you can't beat Marty Robbins, who was the pinnacle of what an artist and writer should be.”Jake and his band play about 50 shows a year right now, and he looks to do more with the success of his new single. “We play all over the country and have been received really well everywhere we go,” he says. “While I still play for other artists, I see myself doing less and less of that in the future, because my main goal is to continue to release my own music and to give people a show they won't forget. We're all about the music and getting it out to the fans.”

Jimmy Wayne, country music singer, and songwriter joins host Deirdre Breakenridge on Women Worldwide. Jimmy is the author of the New York Times best-selling book, Walk to Beautiful, The Power of Love and a Homeless Kid Who Found the Way. In his memoir, Jimmy shares how he survived life on the streets and as a foster kid, bouncing in and out of the foster care system. Jimmy was able to overcome great adversity in his life and now uses his country music platform to help children everywhere. On the show, Jimmy shares what it was like to experience life as a child growing up with uncertainty, and in different homes. He had to cope with an environment filled with violence, drugs, stress, and rejection. Jimmy learned to survive taking the advice of his granddad who told him to “get out there and work.” Through a strong work ethic, Jimmy earned money wherever and whenever he could. His message now is for people (especially men) to get out there and to give an hour of their time to boys in the foster care system. These kids are often labeled as "troubled or bad kids" but they really need guidance.  Through his own experience and the help of caring educators and influential women in his life, Jimmy changed his course and now speaks across the country raising awareness about teens who age out of the foster care system and become homeless. A little more about Jimmy Wayne … Jimmy is known for hits songs including "Stay Gone", "I Love You This Much," and "Do You Believe Me Now.” In 2010, Jimmy walked halfway across America to raise awareness for kids aging out of the foster care system. He has helped to get a legislative bill passed extending the age of foster care to 21 in both Tennessee and California. He is also the author of the novel, made-for-TV movie and hit song, Paper Angels, an inspirational holiday story about a child in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. You can learn more about Jimmy on his website and connect with him on Twitter @JimmyWayne and on Facebook.

In 2007 he realized there was to much talent to handle sufficiently on just one label so he created The Valory Music Company with Artists like Justin Moore, Jimmy Wayne, Jewel. Scott has since started a third label with Universal Republic, Republic Nashville, and is now home to some of country’s biggest stars, like Reba, Rascal Flatts, and Martina McBride.  The success of those artists and Taylor Swift helped propel the label to the top spot as Billboard’s Top Country Album Imprint in 2009, recognition for being the highest-selling label group on Music Row.  With all the serious work of running a label, though, it’s always fun to check out the lighter side of the business…like shooting a music video out on the farm
