“Ustanovljena novemba 2013 po steklenici viskija. Monowi Twins je pijana ideja, ki je šla predaleč.” Tako na predstavitvenih straneh o nastanku dua pišeta Andi Kolgot in Sanja FC. Pijanost in daljnosežnost ideje sta bili v tem primeru nadvse produktivni. Odprtost duha, ki jo lahko prinesejo takšna stanja, je sprostila ustvarjalni vrelec. Minilo je le leto in novembra 2014 je bil spisan, uglasbljen, posnet ter zapakiran celovečerni prvenec “Hush Now”. Letos spomladi mu je sledil nekoliko trši EP “Then There Were Three”. Oba sta polna zmerno temačnih izletov v pristno americano. Od jeznega, glasnega bendovskega zvoka do intime bendža in glasu. Od prašnih postrockovskih razdalj do z godali poudarjene bližine. Sanjin glas po razsežnostih glasbe Monowi Twins pluje mirno, zanesljivo, lepo. In polno. Melanholija je v zavidljivem ravnotežju. “Navdih sva našla v dark americani, glasbenem žanru, ki je značilen za jug ZDA in je soroden klasičnemu countryju z ne tako klasično liriko. Svoje pesmi lahko opiševa kot zgodbe o rečeh, o katerih se ni primerno pogovarjati ob kavi, so pa (žal) kljub temu del vsakdanjega življenja,” sta zapisala. Med svoje vzornike odkrito uvrščata Nicka Cava, zasedbo 16 Horsepower norega Davida Eugena Edwardsa in poetiko režiserja Davida Lyncha.
