Picking Up the Pieces • Sunday Service #toddcoconato #sundayservice #pickingupthepieces #remnant Website: www.PastorTodd.org To support this ministry: www.ToddCoconato.com/give Beloved, today we gather with hearts open to God's transformative power, embracing His promise of restoration. Each of us, at some point, faces setbacks and seasons of downturn, much like I experienced in 2011. Yet, God's word assures us that these moments are not the end of our stories. Today, we will explore how God stops every assignment of hell against us and how we will not only recover but thrive again. God is Our Refuge and Strength "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1 NKJV) Restoration Promised by God "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you." (Joel 2:25 NKJV) Thriving Once Again "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV) Overcoming Through Christ "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV) Renewed Strength to Rise Again "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)

Everybody has a story…Scott's could help save a life. The after effects of suicide are devastating and the grief can feel unbearable. Scott Cramer was left to pick up the pieces after his wife chose this, after suffering with mental illness. Scott used writing as a healing process for he and his teenage daughters and collectively they published Daily Dad… Picking Up the Pieces. The book is the heart wrenching account of a father faced with an unknown future with two traumatized teenage daughters after losing his wife to suicide. It provides insight into the process of healing, power and connection and how one must look into the inner self to change the universe around oneself. In Episode 1608, Sean Woodley goes off on the Toronto Raptors' suffering their worst loss in franchise history, a 133-85 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves with a depleted 8-man roster to push the Raptors' losing streak to 15 games, a result for which the seeds were planted all the way back at the start of the Raptors when the team's front office opted to waste the first half of its season with indirection and uncertainty. Off the top, Sean chats about how things did not have to be this way for the Raptors, and why even though the losses of Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl may have been unavoidable and out of the front office's control, so many things could have been done to avoid those players going out being the death knell for any kind of competitiveness for the Raptors this season. It's a joke! Next, Sean chats about some of the stand-out performances against the Wolves, both good and bad. Lastly, Sean runs through The Good (the comedy of Malachi Flynn scoring 50 points on Wednesday night), The Bad (30 different players suiting up for the Raptors) and The Hmmmm (Vince Carter going to the Hall-of-Fame and what it means for his potential jersey retirement) to round out the show. TW: While Joan does not go into specific details, this episode does contain mentions of her experiences of abuse, and we wanted you to be aware of that before listening. Our guests often share the traumatic memories their experiences in life have left them with. But today's guest shares what it's like for there to be pieces missing when she tries to recall her past. Joan Ulsher is a writer, philanthropist, retired U.S. Army Major, and an award-winning child advocate. During her own childhood, Joan survived abuse and experienced the foster care system firsthand. Today, she says many of her formative years feel like “Swiss cheese” because of all the holes in her memory. Joan tells her story in a memoir entitled Misplaced Childhood: A True Story of Resiliency and Child Advocacy. In this conversation, you'll hear how Joan has navigated her mind blocking out childhood memories, how her advocacy efforts have changed her inner narrative from that of a victim to that of a survivor, how finding Christ has given her life new purpose, and so much more. Elan Babchuck is a rabbi and co-author with Kathleen McShane of Picking Up the Pieces: Leadership After Empire. In pursuit of leaving behind a world that is more compassionate and connected than the one he found, Elan serves as the Executive Vice President at Cal, the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership. Over the years, Elan has guided over 150 successful startups along with many of his own. An avid TedX speaker, Elan has also been public in The Atlantic, The Guardian, and Washington Post. Despite the Exodus' creation thousands of years ago, religious organizations continue to operate under the shadows of the pyramids the Israelites once built. In Picking Up the Pieces: Leadership after Empire, Elan believes that these leadership models reward consolidation of power at the expense of the freedom below. This, he argues, is not the way of the gospel, and attributes previous leadership failures to their empirical structure. Elan calls for a leadership models where power is shared, rather than hoarded. Picking Up the Pieces: Leadership after Empire speaks to leaders who are ready to shift from over-functioning patterns, and instead share power so that it multiplies- leading their people fully engage in the life-giving promise that awaits them.
0Picking up the Pieces – Brian Regan joins Chris Boyd and Jeff Perry for this episode to discuss Brian's recently written article titled “Picking up the Pieces”. Brian starts off with his straightforward commentary of what he calls the “Cult of Private Investments”. The dialogue shifts to the debate of hiring a financial advisor compared to simply buying index funds. The trio next offers their thoughts on why high yield savings accounts are so popular and when it is prudent to use one. Brian next shares his thoughts on why Municipal Bonds are not that attractive in most circumstances. To conclude this segment Chris, Brian and Jeff dig into investment returns and how they are compared and should be compared against a benchmark. Torrential rain - far exceeding expectations - fell in the hills behind Napier and Hastings... and swollen rivers breached their banks. In Whirinaki, on the coast near the Esk River mouth, the floodwater rose rapidly. Resident, Todd Smith, went door-to-door helping rescue his neighbours and get them to safety. Smith spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
Bayern Munich's title hopes this season took a major hit and morale could be at an all-time low under Thomas Tuchel. So...now what? Bayern Munich needs to regroup and figure things out ahead of its midweek match against Lazio in the Champions League and a Bundesliga tilt vs. VfL Bochum. What we can we expect? Let's discuss: How Bayern Munich can start to fix things, but there is a risk that some parts of this squad are beyond repair. It is time for Tuchel to re-think this strategy in using Harry Kane. Is a rebound against Lazio in the works? Yes, but if the Bavarians fail, it will tell us all we need to know about this team's mentality under Thomas Tuchel. Thomas Müller is proving he is the ultimate company man this season (in a good way). Why would Matthijs de Ligt want to hang around Bavaria under a coach, who has no use for him?

The Browns are back! The first episode of season 6 begins back at the cul-de-sac. The Browns don their hard hats to walk through the homes, even though their loans are still not approved. Then it's time for the first of many My Sister Wife's Closet meetings to discuss the "What Women Want" Expo in St. George Utah. The family celebrates Solomon's 1st birthday. The expo is not a success and Janelle and Christine question their commitment to this "hobby business." The episode concludes with, you guessed it, a trip to the cul-de-sac with the whole family. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the weight of grief and loss as a single parent, struggling to find the right words to comfort your children, then you are not alone! You may be avoiding difficult conversations or trying to shield your children from your own pain, which can lead to a lack of emotional connection and understanding. If you're feeling like you have to be strong for your children and not showing your own vulnerability, then you are not alone! It's okay to seek support and guidance as you navigate your own grief and help your children process their emotions. Tim, a resilient single father to four daughters, bravely shares his story of overcoming grief and loss following the tragic passing of his children's mother in 2017. His journey reflects the challenges of single parenthood, highlighting the significance of open communication and support in difficult circumstances. Tim's approach and dedication to his children's well-being serve as a source of inspiration for others facing similar experiences, showcasing the strength and resilience required to nurture meaningful parent-child relationships amidst adversity. Power of Forgiveness in Parenting Fostering forgiveness in parenting provides a healthier and calmer family dynamic. When parents acknowledge their mistakes and ask for forgiveness from their children, it humanizes them and teaches kids to own up to their own mistakes as well. Throughout the process of forgiving and being forgiven, children gain a deeper understanding about compassion, empathy, and accepting one's imperfections.
One in twelve children will lose a parent or sibling by the time they reach age 18. Experiencing grief of this kind is unbearable at any age, but in children it can present differently and may require more of a tailored approach. We speak with child therapist Natasha Daniels to get a better understanding of this emotion and how there can be different variations of grief depending on the severity of the life event.
