Food waste isn't a new story. So why cover it again? Well, in the UK, we are still wasting over 10 million tonnes of food a year. That's food that could have been sold, eaten, cooked and enjoyed. Clearly this is a problem that isn't going away. But crucially, we have a new government who have said that a zero waste economy is one of their top priorities for the environment. What will this mean for food waste? And is it individuals, or businesses, who can really make a difference? In this programme, Leyla Kazim goes after some new answers. Does the answer lie in the design of our fridges, for example? Or in making it law for supermarkets to tell us how much food they waste? Along the way, she meets the people who have made it their life's work to help us cut waste, from dumpster divers to fridge enthusiasts. Ever wondered where all the unsold food from supermarkets goes? Matt Homewood, AKA The Urban Harvester, went to find out one night in his home town of Copenhagen, Denmark, and what he found shocked him. He began 'dumpster diving' every night and sharing pictures of his food swag on social media. Leyla hears how these posts began to go viral and were the start of Matt's activism to put the spotlight on supermarket food waste. Food waste is often talked about in terms of redistribution to charities or food banks. But that isn't the only answer, finds Leyla, when she visits Katy Newton, founder of Wasted Kitchen in Kent and a finalist in the BBC Food and Farming Awards 2024. Katy buys or trades for the surplus food she uses to make her takeaways, ferments and deli salad boxes, which go back on sale at the food hall next door. Katy explains why she wanted to counter the narrative around food charity and help people be more confident in the kitchen along the way. Leyla hears an update from Wrap, the organisation that runs the UK's official food waste scheme, to find out what action has been taken so far and whether they would support a law to make food waste reporting legal. She asks the same question to the new government, before calling on journalist Ian Quinn, chief reporter at trade magazine The Grocer, for his take on what's happening in the industry. Online there is a growing network of influencers helping people eat everything they buy to save waste, but also, save money. Two of the most popular, Elly Pear (another finalist for this year's Food and Farming Awards) and Max La Manna, meet in Elly's kitchen in Bristol to share their best food waste tips and approach Elly's fridge, ready-steady-cook style, to cook lunch with last night's leftovers. Talking of fridges, at her home in London, Leyla hosts PhD researcher Emma Atkins for one of Emma's unique ‘fridge sessions'. Emma's research looks at our relationship with the fridge, how its design can hinder our food waste efforts, and how fridge history is linked to over-buying of food. She quizzes Leyla about her food waste hotspots and explains how we might be hampered in our food waste efforts by the objects and systems around us. Presented by Leyla Kazim and produced by Nina Pullman for BBC Audio in Bristol.

We sat down with Team USA's World University Games coaching staff for swimming, including head women's coach Jacy Dyer, head men's coach Peter Richardson, and Director of Swimming Ian Quinn. Without funding from USA Swimming on this trip, the staff has had to do everything on their own, including selecting a coaching staff and roster as well as completely funding the trip themselves. Each member discusses what that has looked like so far and what it will look like moving into the Games. If you're interested in becoming a sponsor of Team USA going to the World University Games, email Ian Quinn at iquinn@unca.edu

S5:E07 - Jess and Jared recap and discuss “Together or Not at All." This one starts with some current events from a month or two back, and we rail on Jeph Loeb after an interview with Peter Shinkoda about his time on Daredevil and the Netflix Marvel shows, where we learned Loeb was openly racist, and discriminated against Asian actors. We now know for a fact that much of the quality and thoughtful work on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was in spite of Loeb's toxic, racist influence, and in no way because of it. And Mo, and the crew that she brought together with Jed, are even more appreciated, knowing what they were working with. We also mention learning the actor who played Gabe Reyes, in addition to not using a wheelchair, isn't Latinx, so there's another gross case of white washing. May and Enoch are both captured by some giant hook/claw machine grabber, and taken away suddenly. Daisy and Sinara have battled in the arena, May is on Earth's surface, and Fitz, Jemma, and Daisy are escaping to Fitz's ship. Fitz is super sweet with Daisy, and it makes what's coming even more difficult to watch, and Jemma's earbud implant goes off and Fitz helps remove it while Daisy, powerless from the Kree's inhibitor, takes on a Kree with hand to hand combat. They watch the ship explode, and need a new strategy. Kasius is distressed by his new scar, and his brother looks at him like he's crazy. Sinara is still mad at Kasius for using her like a weapon that could be discarded, understandably. Also, totally randomly, but "Anton Ivanov" was named "A.I.," soooo, that's a thing. Coulson and Mack watch them take Tess's body after the Kree had her killed to make a point. Kasius tries to appeal to Sinara, and uses their relationship, to help him placate his brother until he leaves. Daisy, Jemma, and Fitz escape in an elevator, but when it's stopped they have to escape out of the top. Cut to May running from "Roaches" on Earth's surface, severly injured and still standing, and she's saved from the alien predators by...Enoch, sentient Chronicom, and trusted friend! Enoch explains he's with Fitz, and there to help, and May remembers him from the diner they were taken from to be sent to the future. Humans are getting their throats slit by Kree warriors pursuing Fitz, Jemma, and Daisy, who notice the open escape hatch, and follow. Yo-Yo and Mack help Flint deal with Tess's death, and Mack volunteers to talk to him, since he's Super-Dad. Kasius and his brother have a conversation where we learn that Kasius was shamed by running from battle instead of trying to die for his family honor, and punished by running the humans on the Lighthouse. Fitz opens up the walls and discovers the secret to the Lighthouse's gravity...Gravitonium from Season 1, and Ian Quinn. A Kree warrior comes in, and Fitz ends up shot, and they pretend to surrender for a moment, until Daisy beats his ass, and they flee in the haze from a busted pipe, and runs into Deke. Deke meets Fitz for the first time, and he has a plan to help them, but Daisy is reasonably skeptical. Mack bonds with Flint, offering to be there for him, and stopping him from turning himself in out of guilt, while encouraging him to use his powers to help others. Mack continues to be the best dad, and leader, ever. The team reunites, and Fitz explains how he got there from the past "the long way." While the team members catch up they notice that Flint has "turned himself in," but he actually used his powers to kill a Kree soldier with his rock controlling power. Sinara tries to use Flint as bait, and the team comes rushing in for him. Coulson shoots Sinara, and Mack hits the Kree on the head with a gas can, and they start shooting wildly. They've barricaded themselves in Grill's factory, arguing what to do next, and they decide to go to Earth's surface. Flint blocks the door with his rocks, but the Kree are shooting through the walls. Deke thinks to use his anti-gravity belt to help them escape up the rock chute, and they narrowly escape as Sinara and her men enter the room. Flint has a great hero moment, deciding to stay and help everyone left on the Lighthouse station from the fallout from their escape, and Mack and Yo-Yo join him while the rest of the team figures out how they'll get back to the past/present. Fitz tells Mack that he left a bunch of S.H.I.E.L.D. weapons hidden in a wall, and Mack complains that it's on the level infested with "Roaches." Coulson fanboys like crazy, flying a spaceship. Kasius's brother taunts him, saying he would take Sinara from him, and Kasius killed his brother in retaliation. He sneered that Sinara isn't a piece of property, and we learn that Sinara had helped Kasius flee combat years before, and they plan together to earn their way out of the Lighthouse and his lower position in their culture. This is the most likable Kasius is in the entire season, showing his true respect and appreciation for Sinara, and illustrating his situation. Fitz and Jemma's alone time is interrupted by the ship crashing to Earth's surface, and May wakes up on the Zephyr, and before her is standing the precognitive Inhuman Robin, now an old woman. Rising Tide: An Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Podcast Ep#21 [Ragtag] Okay. First off sorry this episode is a week late. Technical dificulties and I fucked up royally. So thats my bad. But its here! Minus.. some stuff that sucked... anyways... In a series of flashbacks, a teenage Ward is seen meeting Garrett at a juvenile detention facility, where he is being held after trying to burn down his family's home. After agreeing to join the secret organization Garrett says he works for, Ward is left in the wilderness alone, forced to survive for months until Garrett returns. Garrett eventually tells him about Hydra's presence within S.H.I.E.L.D., and Ward agrees to join. In the present, the team connects Project Centipede, Garrett, and others to one commonality: Cybertek. Coulson and May infiltrate Cybertek to activate Skye's trojan she left on the hard drive, only to find file cabinets instead of mainframes. However, they learn that Garrett was the first subject for "Project Deathlok", which began in 1990. As such, Garrett's implants are failing. With a few months to live, he is desperate to complete the Project Centipede serum in order to save himself. Coulson's team finds the Hydra base in Cuba, but Garrett's men have already left, with the exception of several Centipede soldiers. Ward captures Fitz and Simmons, who had split from the others to find the Bus, but Fitz is able to use an EMP device to short out Garrett's body. The dying Garrett orders Ward to kill Fitz and Simmons, who hide from him in a locked room. Ward struggles with following through on the orders, deciding to eject the room into the ocean. Raina injects Garrett with the synthesized Guest House drug to work with his Project Centipede serum. Initially, the drug seems to cause an Extremis reaction, before Garrett stabilizes and claims to "feel the universe". In Washington, D.C., Ian Quinn proposes the sale of Deathlok soldiers to the US government, using Mike Peterson's assassination of a Colombian drug lord as evidence of the program's success.
Rising Tide: An Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Podcast Ep#18 [Providence] This week we bring on our newest and best fan onto the show! We also discover things about Ward and the Clarygar (Garret The Clearvoyaint) Plus Patton Oswold guest stars on this episode of Providence! Ward frees Raina from her confinement and introduces Garrett to her as the Clairvoyant. Despite her initial disappointment that Garrett does not actually have any powers, he tasks her with conducting research on the Guest House drugs for Project Centipede, which was secretly backed by HYDRA. Meanwhile, Colonel Glenn Talbot (Adrian Pasdar) contacts Coulson and informs him a military team is en route to the Hub. Not trusting Talbot, Coulson leaves with the team and Triplett. He orders Skye to erase the identities of all the team members, including Ward. However, when Coulson collects the team's badges, he discovers a hidden message with coordinates in the Canadian wilderness. There they discover the hidden S.H.I.E.L.D. base, Providence, run by Agent Eric Koenig (Patton Oswalt). Coulson learns from Koenig that Fury is alive but is told to keep the information secret. He also learns from May that Fury did not oversee the T.A.H.I.T.I. project. Elsewhere, Ward and Garrett infiltrate the Fridge, freeing its prisoners and stealing weapons including the Berserker Staff and the 0-8-4 from Peru. At the HYDRA base, Raina informs Garrett that the hard drive containing all of Skye and Simmons's research is specially locked with a password only Skye holds, prompting Garrett to send Ward to Providence to obtain it. Later, Ian Quinn is brought to the HYDRA base. Though angry at Garrett for Quinn's imprisonment, his ire is softened when Garrett shows him that he has Quinn's gravitonium, which was retrieved from the Fridge.

It's time to make some "T.R.A.C.K.S." to the Italian countryside. Coulson and the team are after an important package headed towards Ian Quinn, and their bringing it by train. But it can be hard to accomplish your mission if your team gets separated by "night night" juice. (Now in grenade form) When they all meet back up, their mission turns from acquiring the package to rescuing Skye, as she suffers a series injury at the hands of the creepy millionaire, Quinn. All while witnessing the origins of Deathlok. Jay and Josh will relive this episode from several points of view on this week's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Case Files. Andrew and Rod are going solo this episode, but that doesn't stop them from having an in-depth discussion about "Seeds" and what it could mean for the future of the show.
