Episode 111 highlights the great basketball career for Murray State hall of famer, Herb McPherson, who played for Coach Cal Luther from 1964-67. Out of Gas City, Indiana, McPherson was a two-time All-OVC performer and left the Racers as the No. 3 all-time scorer with 1,513 points, which is still in the top-15 today. In 1966, he set the MSU single game scoring mark with 44 points in against Middle Tennessee at Racer arena. His record stood for nearly 30 years until Marcus Brown scored 45 points in 1995. A 30-year veteran of teaching and coaching at the high school level, McPherson was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.

Herschell Turner shares his story about his life in both basketball and the world of art. After playing for Shortridge he went on to play at the University of Nebraska, he was the first black American to play basketball at Nebraska and achieved legendary status as a Cornhusker. Now legally blind, Herschell went on to play several years of professional basketball including the 1967-1968 Pittsburg Pipers who went on to win the first ABA Championship. He shares what it was like to be black in those tumultuous times in the 50's and 60's. Ralph Taylor - 1965 IHSAA Boys high school state champion with Indianapolis Washington, Indiana All-Star, and Purdue Boilermaker joins us for over an hour of conversation and shares his memories of this great game of basketball in Indiana. Ralph Taylor is in his 12th season providing color commentary for home games. Taylor played for Purdue in 1967-68 and 1968-69 and was a member of the 1969 national runner-up team. The Indianapolis native is a past member of the Purdue Athletics Advisory Council and presently serves on the Big Ten Advisory Commission. Ralph is a Member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. He also had a chance with Coach Butcher to coach against some of the best coaches in Indiana: Jim Jones at French Lick, Guy Glover at Bloomfield, Joe Todrank at Barr-Reeve, Gunner Wyman & Gene Miller at Vincennes, Charlie Denbo at Orleans, Danny Bush at Bedford, J R Holmes at Mitchell & Bloomington South, Stan Neal at Washington,Tom Beach at Forest Park, and many more. Coach Biggs worked several weeks of summer camp for several years for Gene Keady at Purdue. His summer program was operated by Bruce Weber, who went on to Illinois, etc. Coach Biggs would usually see Bob Knight come to watch a time or two, each year when they played Bloomington North, or he was scouting someone. He would usually stop by the dressing room and say, "Hello" to Jack. His son, Ryan went to camps for several years at IU, Purdue, and to the camp, Larry Bird & Jim Jones had at French Lick with several sons of Celtic players. Ryan was also in the "Small Town" video, made by John Mellencamp at IU.
