For the 10th time in his illustrious 21-season NBA career, LeBron James is getting accustomed to a new head coach. The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly hired former NBA player and current podcast co-host, JJ Redick, on a four-year contract. This bold move brings a coaching rookie into the spotlight, tasked with managing a team that has struggled to meet its championship aspirations since their 2020 title. With LeBron comes immense expectations and pressure, which has historically led to a revolving door of head coaches. From his early days in Cleveland to his championship runs in Miami and back to his current stint with the Lakers, LeBron has experienced a diverse array of coaching styles and philosophies. Let's take a trip down memory lane and revisit all the coaches LeBron has played under:Paul Silas (2003-2005): LeBron's first NBA coach, known for his old-school approach and mentoring style, helped LeBron win the 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year Award.Mike Brown (2005-2010): Led the Cavaliers to their first NBA Finals appearance in 2007 and secured multiple 60+ win seasons but was eventually let go in hopes of retaining LeBron.Erik Spoelstra (2010-2014): Despite initial friction, Spoelstra guided LeBron and the Miami Heat to four straight NBA Finals and two championships, solidifying his reputation as one of the league's top coaches.David Blatt (2014-2016): Hired before LeBron's return to Cleveland, Blatt's European coaching style never quite meshed with the team, leading to his mid-season dismissal despite a 53-29 record and a Finals appearance.Tyronn Lue (2016-2018): Promoted from assistant coach, Lue led the Cavaliers to their historic 2016 NBA Championship, though the team struggled to maintain that success, leading to LeBron's departure to LA.Luke Walton (2018-2019): Struggled to integrate LeBron with the Lakers' young core, resulting in a disappointing season and Walton's eventual dismissal.Frank Vogel (2019-2022): Brought a defensive-minded approach that led the Lakers to their 2020 NBA Championship in the bubble, but later struggled with team dynamics and the ill-fated Russell Westbrook trade.Darvin Ham (2022-2024): Managed to bench Westbrook and lead the Lakers to the Western Conference Finals, but consistent underperformance led to his firing after two seasons.J.J. Redick (2024-?): The newest addition, and LeBron's podcast co-host, now faces the challenge of bringing the Lakers back to championship contention in a high-stakes environment. From seasoned veterans to fresh faces, each coach has brought something unique to the table. With Redick now at the helm, the Lakers are betting on a new dynamic that leverages his close relationship with LeBron.Join the conversation on Real Talk with Kingsley Ogwudire as we dive into LeBron's journey through these coaching changes. What does this mean for the Lakers' future? Will JJ Redick be the key to unlocking another championship? Share your thoughts and let's discuss!

Just before the All Star Break, the Bucks have seen enough and have fired Adrian Griffin, and are reportedly hiring Doc Rivers as his replacement. On this episode of Road Trippin', Richard, Channing and Allie discuss how Griffin's firing draws parallels from David Blatt and the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, and why Doc Rivers makes sense to lead the multiple stars on the Bucks roster. Also, the crew discusses the dominant performance by Joel Embiid after he scored 70 points, and debate if he is the front-runner for MVP when we give out our mid-season awards. ► YouTube!

"Highlights": This is a special episode that highlights 5 different episodes with examples of the variety of topics that we go through on this podcast! It starts with problem-solving within an executive group in the NBA Player's Association team and how they approach problems that players have to deal with throughout the season. This was episode #23 with Matteo Zuretti that was recorded in New York at the NBPA headquarters. The next highlight is a clip from my conversation with Coach Andrej Lemanis and his wide ranging experiences with culture-building. He talked about his authentic style of coaching and how he tries to get his message across to the players by giving them ownership and staying humble. One of my biggest highlights was from a very special episode with David Blatt, which was EP#35. In this short clip he talked about his view on the importance of 'Cultural Competency' when coaching in different environments and getting to know the nuances of each culture in order to connect better. Furthermore, I've added a highlight from a very recent conversation with one of the most successful Executives, Maurizio Gherardini. This clip is from EP#36 where he talked about the importance of constant communication with the Head Coach in order to find the right path together. The final highlight-clip is from my biggest and most important episode (EP#20) thus far this past year with Šarūnas Jasikevičius where he talked about the roles of his Assistant Coaches as well as all the nuances of being a Head Coach in the decision-making process. As we all settle into the Lakers' offseason, big questions - and there are many - rumors and reports are already circulating about the direction the team might go in replacing Frank Vogel. One nugget reported by Sam Amick at The Athletic? LeBron James would be interested in the Lakers hiring former Warriors/current ESPN broadcaster Mark Jackson. Now, this is highly unikely (Jackson was a rumored candidate after the Lakers canned Luke Walton, and even when the Cavs fired David Blatt), but the concept raises interesting questions about how the Lakers need to approach the coaching search. Because while Jackson is hardly the perfect candidate, that guy doesn't exist. It's very unlikely the Lakers will have access to the creme de la creme of uber-elite coaching options. So they need to be very clear on what they want, why, and who can deliver on their top priorities. From there, they have to match that coach with a roster that accentuates those strengths. That certainly didn't happen this season. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Stanley Johnson's exit interview revealed a lot about how the Lakers mismatched players and roles. Getting the right mindset to play the right role isn't always easy for decorated pros. SEGMENT 2: Johnson also noted how skillsets on the Lakers didn't quite mesh, either. Understanding why, and getting a more coherent construction for next year's roster, is critical. SEGMENT 3: The Lakers seem (very, very) unlikely to hire Jackson, but just the idea raises all kinds of interesting questions about what the Lakers would look for in their next coach. Mike Tannenbaum joined ESPN as an NFL Front Office Insider in April 2019. A former NFL executive with more than two decades worth of experience in team front offices, he now appears on a variety of ESPN platforms, including NFL Live, SportsCenter, First Take, and Get Up!. Tannenbaum also contributed to ESPN's coverage of the 2019 NFL Draft, serving as an analyst on ESPN Radio alongside Dari Nowkhah, Ian Fitzsimmons, Chris Canty, and Jim Nagy. Prior to ESPN, Tannenbaum worked for several NFL franchises, most notably as executive vice president of football operations for the Miami Dolphins (2015-18), and executive vice president and general manager for the New York Jets (2006-12). Under Tannenbaum's leadership, the Dolphins made the playoffs in 2016 for the first time in eight seasons, and the Jets advanced to the playoffs in three seasons, won four playoff games, and made two AFC Championship game appearances. Tannenbaum's tenure as general manager of the Jets marked the most successful seven-year period in franchise history. Between executive roles with the Jets and Dolphins, Tannenbaum represented head coaches Steve Kerr (Golden State Warriors), David Blatt (then with the Cleveland Cavaliers), and others serving as an agent and principal at Priority Sports and Entertainment from 2013-14.

A Lisansı'nın dokuzuncu bölümünde Buğra Balaban ve Cem Pekdoğru, Efes ve Fenerbahçe formalarıyla dokuz EuroLeague sezonunu ardında bıraktıktan sonra basketbola veda eden Ermal Kuqo'yu konuk ettiler. Los Angeles Clippers'taki scouting görevlerini, 1998-99 sezonunda kurulan Rüya Takım'ı, Conrad McRae'nin hayatındaki önemini, ABD'deki “junior college” deneyiminin ona neler kattığını konuğumuzdan dinledik. Chris Beard, Bobby Knight, Bill Self gibi özel koçların da rol aldığı bu Amerika hikâyelerinden sonra Avrupa'ya döndük; Gianluca Basile ve Nikos Zisis'in kalp kıran üçlükleri, 2005 Panathinaikos serisi, David Blatt'in ilk İstanbul macerasındaki Belgrad krizinin iç yüzü, Oktay Mahmuti'nin antrenman yoğunluğu ve EuroLeague Oyuncular Birliği ELPA'in fonksiyonu, bu geniş sohbetin diğer uğrak noktalarıydı.
A Lisansı'nın sekizinci bölümünde Emre Gürkaynak'ın yokluğunda Buğra Balaban, 2006-2014 yılları arasında Efes ve Galatasaray gibi EuroLeague kulüplerinde asistan koç olarak görev almış Emir Alkaş'a ligin son yıllardaki değişimi hakkındaki fikirlerini soruyor. Avrupa basketbolunda yoğunlaşan maç takviminin coaching üzerindeki etkileriyle başlayan sohbet, “öğrenci” oyunculara, Bootsy Thornton-Jordan Farmar mukayesesine, bir “topçu” olarak Bryant Dunston'a kadar uzanıyor. David Blatt'in basketbol tutkusuna dair anekdotlar, Sloukas-De Colo dinamiğinde işlemeyenler, Derrick Williams'ın yarattığı problemler, kadrosunu koruyan Anadolu Efes'in avantajlarıyla bugüne bağlanıyoruz...
