Hagar Chemali (Former spokesperson for the U.S. Mission to the UN) is back in studio with host Ron Steslow to map the widening gap between the Trump Administration's declared aims in the Iran war, and the murky reality now shaping the region and the world. First they discuss the state of the war with Iran and the supposed negotiations in which the two governments are describing opposite realities—and what it would mean for the US to “finish the job.” Then, they widen the lens to China, tracing the argument that the campaigns against Iran and Venezuela are less about those countries than about choking off Beijing's energy supply. Finally, they turn to the information domain and the Singham network, a Chinese Communist Party-aligned financing infrastructure that has funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into American left-wing protest infrastructure and the deeper question it raises: how can a liberal society defend itself against foreign information warfare without surrendering the values it is fighting to protect? In Politicology+, they discuss Trump's appointment of Bill Pulte—a political enforcer with zero intelligence experience—as interim Director of National Intelligence and why it's essential to understand what was going on behind the scenes in the lead up to Tusli Gabbard's resignation. The information front has been central to the Iranian government's war effort. For an external audience, there is an innovative online strategy that has consisted of AI Lego, memes and hip hop diss tracks directed at Donald Trump and the MAGA base. But this coexists with more brutal domestic tactics: crackdowns, arrests and internet blackouts. The result has been the Iranian authorities making use of the internet for PR internationally, while simultaneously preventing the Iranian people from openly accessing the net themselves. Contributors: Ali Hashem – Correspondent, Al Jazeera English Mehran Kamrava – Professor of Government, Georgetown University in Qatar Tara Kangarlou – Journalist & Author, The Heartbeat of Iran Maral Karimi – Lecturer, Toronto Metropolitan University On our radar The killing of Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil unfolded in the manner that so many Israeli assassinations of journalists in Gaza have - minute by minute, hour by hour, in a pattern that has become shockingly familiar. There's the surveillance, the strike, the obstruction of rescue and then, the denial - Israel's insistence that it does not target journalists, medics or rescue workers. Meenakshi Ravi reports. Pakistan's peacemaker moment and the missing stories Pakistan has found itself at the centre of one of the world's most consequential stories - by hosting talks between the United States and Iran, brokering ceasefires, earning the very public praise of Donald Trump and making headlines around the world. But this PR moment is obscuring a great deal, including an undercover war with Afghanistan and a crushing cost-of-living crisis at home. We speak to Amber Rahim Shamsi about the domestic politics behind Pakistan's diplomatic moment in the sun. Featuring: Amber Rahim Shamsi – Pakistan Editor, Nukta
Warren Kinsella is an Ontario-based lawyer, author and consultant who has joined us many times before. Today, he's here to talk about his new book, The Hidden Hand, which explores the global information war and how propaganda and disinformation are shaping public opinion. It also looks at Canada as a key battleground in that fight, including rising antisemitism and online influence campaigns.
Jon Herold opens with a candid discussion on info war fatigue, questioning whether constant noise and conflicting narratives are intentionally designed to wear people down. He breaks down the growing divide between Trump and major influencers, pushing back on claims that they made him politically relevant and arguing the opposite. The episode explores early moves by Democrats to lay the groundwork for another impeachment using the 25th Amendment, alongside broader speculation about how midterm election narratives are being shaped in advance. Jon also touches on ongoing uncertainty surrounding Iran, as well as economic concerns like rising housing costs and surging gold prices. Throughout, he emphasizes the importance of staying grounded and learning to separate signal from noise.
Jon Herold reacts to the sudden shift from fears of a “civilization ending” conflict with Iran to a proposed ceasefire and peace negotiations. He breaks down Trump's latest statements, including tariff threats and a potential joint economic venture in the Strait of Hormuz, while questioning the consistency of the narrative. The episode focuses heavily on the public and media reaction cycle, highlighting how quickly influencers and commentators escalated from panic to criticism. Jon suggests that much of this may be intentional, designed to provoke reactions and expose underlying agendas. He closes with a broader reflection on information warfare, urging listeners to remain critical thinkers and avoid emotional manipulation in an increasingly chaotic media environment.
Jon Herold opens the Monday edition of The Daily Herold by addressing a weekend shake up within the Badlands community after Brad and Abbey abruptly departed the network without explanation. Jon explains that while people moving on is normal, the lack of communication surrounding their exit was disappointing and sparked confusion across the Badlands ecosystem. He reiterates his philosophy that hosts are never censored for their opinions and are accountable only to their own ideas and the audience that chooses to engage with them. From there, Jon turns to the latest political developments, including President Trump's recent press conference and a series of Truth Social posts that he says illustrate how the information war is being fought in real time. He also examines ongoing conversations about the 2020 election and why media outlets continue pushing narratives that the country should simply “move on” from the controversy. The episode expands into discussions about election integrity legislation, polling narratives, economic signals like oil prices, and geopolitical developments involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. Throughout the show, Jon reacts to headlines, audience comments, and emerging stories while emphasizing skepticism toward media narratives and encouraging viewers to think independently as the news cycle continues to accelerate.

Information warfare expert and Emmy Award–winning documentary producer Scott Kesterson joins the program to discuss his work alongside the Five Eyes and leading neuroscientists, developing information warfare defense systems. Kesterson explains how advanced psychological and information-based operations are being used today, how powerful these systems have become and why the battlefield is no longer just geopolitical—but digital, cognitive, and personal. We explore how information warfare shows up online and in everyday life, and what individuals can do to recognize, resist, and protect themselves in an environment increasingly shaped by manipulation and narrative control. You can follow Scott Kesterson and his work at https://Bards.FMSee exclusives at https://SarahWestall.Substack.com

Welcome to Season 8 of the MG Show — a high-energy, pro‑MAGA episode that mixes commentary, audio clips and on‑the‑ground reaction after what the host calls a stunning U.S. military operation in Caracas. The episode features a play-by-play of President Trump's January 3 press conference and a detailed excerpt from General Raisin Cain's briefing on the operation (dubbed "Operation Absolute Resolve"), which the show frames as an audacious extraction of Nicolás Maduro and his wife and a decisive move against narco‑cartel networks. Topics covered include the alleged Venezuelan narco‑terrorism network and indictments in the Southern District of New York, tactical details of the military mission (air, land and sea assets, special operations and joint‑force integration), and how the host interprets these events as the collapse of an "old guard" and the revival of a Monroe‑style doctrine for the Western Hemisphere. The show repeatedly ties these developments to broader themes: information warfare ("InfoWar"), psychological operations, and what the host describes as long‑running infiltration of U.S. media and institutions. Guest references and clips: the episode plays audio from President Donald J. Trump and General Raisin Cain, and includes commentary about public figures talked about on the show (Patrick Byrne, General Flynn, Kash Patel). The host uses these voices to argue that recent events vindicate the show's long‑running skepticism of establishment narratives and alternative media networks. Key talking points and claims: the host asserts Infowars and similar outlets have been compromised, frames the Maduro operation as evidence of a new phase of U.S. global posture, and urges listeners to recognize and resist coordinated confusion from mainstream and social platforms. There are repeated calls to action for listeners to dig for truth, push back on misinformation, recruit others into the movement, and engage on alternative platforms. Audience and platform notes: the episode contains live audience shoutouts, premium membership appeals (the “red castle” / Rumble premium), and practical guidance about donation channels (web browser vs. app fees). The host highlights distribution channels (Rumble.com/MGShow, Brighteon, Rumble, redstatetalkradio.com) and complains about content removal on platforms like TikTok even for mainstream interviews. Extras and tone: the show mixes serious national‑security commentary with populist rallying, humor (a Spanish sketch imagining Donald Trump as president of Venezuela), product spots (a MyPillow promo), and frequent audience engagement. Expect combative rhetoric, conspiratorial framing, patriotic appeals, and a mix of sourced audio with the host's opinionated analysis — designed to inform and mobilize an audience that already aligns with MAGA and the show's worldview. What listeners can expect: a spirited Season 8 opener that promises follow‑up coverage, investigative threads about alleged institutional infiltration, continued commentary on foreign policy and law‑enforcement actions, and ongoing calls to support the show financially and spread its message across platforms.

Media expert Stuart Brotman joins the program for an eye-opening conversation about the growing crisis of censorship and control in America. As an advisor to four U.S. presidents and one of the nation's leading authorities on media law and free expression, Brotman brings a unique and deeply informed perspective on how our digital environment is being shaped behind the scenes.Together, we dive into Section 230, the shifting legal landscape, and how the justice system is struggling to catch up with the power of today's tech giants. We confront the real-world consequences of these failures, including my own case: a smear campaign and explicit, defamatory associations that appeared on the front page of Google Search—damaging not only to me as a journalist, but to every American who depends on a fair and safe information ecosystem. This conversation is a clear warning: what happened to me can happen to anyone, and the public deserves transparency, accountability, and the right to their own reputation. To go deeper into these issues, you can purchase Stuart Brotman's groundbreaking new book here: https://www.skyhorsepublishing.com/9781510786752/free-expression-under-fire/See exclusives and more at https://SarahWestall.Substack.com

Source: reuters.com The original proposal, advanced under the Biden administration in 2023, was scrapped earlier in 2025 amid fierce pushback from the banking industry, which argued it would impose unjustified hikes in capital requirements—potentially up to 20% or more for large banks—hampering lending and economic growth. Bowman, appointed under President Trump, described the redo as an effort to "rightsize" these requirements for larger banks, making regulations more effective and efficient without weakening safety standards. Does This Affect Gold? Yes, the Basel III Endgame revisions are broadly viewed as positive for gold, potentially boosting demand for physical gold as a reserve asset. Under the updated framework, physical gold is reclassified as a Tier 1 asset—equivalent to cash or U.S.
