I sat down with Andrew Herr to unpack what flying really does to your body and how to fix it with simple, science-based steps. Andrew has coached fighter pilots, Navy SEALs, and busy executives, and he built a travel system that treats jet lag like a solvable problem, not a life sentence. We break down why pressure changes and lower oxygen in the cabin drive inflammation, why that brain fog and puffy feeling show up even on short hops, and how circadian rhythm, light, and meal timing fit into the picture. We get into domestic versus international travel, when you only need a “mini” protocol, and when you need the full reset. You will hear exactly how to set up sleep the first night, when to use light or block it, how to time magnesium, omega-3s, and melatonin, why small protein-first meals beat grazing on junk, and why fasting can help some people but not everyone. You will also learn how to read your own signals, why some frequent fliers think they are fine when they are not, and how to test whether something actually helps you. If you want to land clear-headed, sleep that first night, and feel like yourself again, this episode gives you a plan you can run on your very next trip.Key topicsWhy flights trigger inflammation, even on short routesCircadian rhythm basics, light timing, and sleep setupDomestic vs international playbook, what changes and whyProtein-first eating on travel days, hydration, and walking after mealsWhen fasting helps and when it backfiresBlue light blocking, battery-powered alarm clocks, and a bedroom setup after you landHow to test if a tool or supplement is working for youWhere Andrew's timing protocol came from and how the app personalizes it without guessworkTimeline Mitopure Gummies: GET 20% Off Now!

Reforming SNAP. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program—formerly known as food stamps—is designed to address nutritional gaps for economically disadvantaged Americans. But critics argue that SNAP's lack of selectivity when it comes to ultra-processed foods stokes the current epidemic of obesity and metabolic disorders. Nutritionist Carolina Schneider, MS, RD, joins us to discuss an opportunity to reform SNAP. She makes the case for emphasizing fresh, minimally processed food as eligible for purchase under SNAP. Also, she urges inclusion of vitamin D under SNAP benefits because of the pervasiveness of vitamin D deficiency, especially among SNAP recipients. Escuchar audio

Currently I'm in the last month of my CBO protocol and have also completed the 14 day detox and 7 day intestinal cleanse . All will be completed before I leave for Europe. Thank you, Lisa         Susy: Hi dr Cabral, my minerals and metals test showed that my zinc is optimal and copper is very low even after supplementing with zinc and copper and the DNS for 3 months. But I've noticed that copper is usually not recommended on its own by an IHP. However I've heard some practitioners say that zinc can inhibit proper copper absorption or at least take longer to get optimal levels of copper if taken with zinc. What are your thoughts on that? Or is it possible to get to much zinc if I keep taking it together?                                                                                                                                               Bettina: Hi Dr. Cabral, My husband recently purchased a testosterone supplement he came across—probably via Instagram—and I wanted to ask your opinion on the ingredients. Thanks for your help on this :-)                Svetlana: Hello Dr.Cabral, after reading your book and listening to your podcasts I've made many positive changes to my lifestyle, one of them is taking the DNS for breakfast. I'm losing weight now (desired), but it takes me very long to finish the shake and I'm wondering if that's not a good thing in the long run since it keeps my insulin levels up without a break to my digestive system until lunch. It makes me feel very full, sometimes can't finish it until noon when I start it about 8:30am. At lunch time I'm still full and end up skipping lunch and eating supper at 5, no food after 7pm. I only put about 13oz of coconut water (or coconut milk mixed with water), 1 tbsp chia seeds, small handful of aronia berries and about 1/4 cup cauliflower in it. Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows!   This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track!   Check out today's questions:    Ashley: Hi Dr. Cabral, love what you've done for the health industry - so much so that I recently graduated as an IHP L2 and will be attending RHS this Fall! I'm writing as I've been experiencing itchy, stinging hives on my face (typically around the chin, mouth and lower cheek area) for 6 months; once the inflammation on the hives settle down I'm left with what appears to be a whitehead. If popped, the skin becomes extremely dry and peels off within 24hrs. I experienced this once in 2018 after a TBI, but worked with a ND (since retired) that resolved my symptoms w/ gut work. I intend to complete the big 5 to asses what's happening, likely followed by a DCD and CBO protocol but would love your thoughts to ensure I'm on the right track and if you have seen these symptoms before. THANK YOU!                                     Tricia: Hi Dr. Cabral - Earlier this year, I had a food sensitivity test done. My bloodwork came in showing above average to tomatoes. The results were 4.7 mcg/ml and anything great than 2 suggests a sensitivity or intolerance. I've been drinking your greens powder every morning and then realized it does have tomatoes but I'm guessing it is a very small amount. Do you think I'm okay to continuing drinking the green powder? I'm working on reducing inflammation in my body. I'm going to retest later this year with your kit. Your test is much more extensive. Thank you!                                                                    Tricia: Hi again, Recent bloodwork showed my Omega 3: EPA at 2.8% by wt is above average. They consider anything above a 2.3 too high. Have you ever seen this before? Not sure why my balance of Omega 3 fatty acids are shifting towards EPA. I was taking your fish oil but have stopped temporarily. All other numbers for Omegas are in range. My total Omega 3 is in range at 7.5. Omega 6-total in range at 39.4. AA/EPA Ratio in range at 4. Homocysteine is 7.7 mcg/dl in range. Omega 6/3 ratio is 5.2. Can I get your opinion please? I know you can't diagnose or treat. I just want your opinion of what it could be and what I should do. Should I continue to take fish oil? I do eat Wild Salmon about 3 times a week. My HS-CRP is 4.1. Thanks for any guidance.                                        Jenny: Hi Dr Cabral - Weighted vests seem to be the latest fitness craze. What is your opinion of them? Thank you!                             Belinda: Please I have ovarian cyst and PID for over four years and I have been taking antibiotics and it's not helping, what should I do           Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions!    - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3501 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept?
