Interview by Spitty / spittywill We recently traveled up to New York to link with legendary rapper, producer and songwriter , Diamond D for a special Fat Beats Edition of “Off The Porch”. Currently celebrating the release of his new album The Diam Piece 3:Duo During our chat, he told us how growing up in The Bronx, he had a front row seat to the beginning of Hip-Hop. Diamond D told us how he started out with graffiti tagging, pop locking, and dj'n, all before he ever laid a song down. D shares his influences with us saying that it was the legendary DJ Jazzy Jay that inspired D to actually start producing music. Diamond shares how The Diggin In The Crates crew actually came about and how he met Big L, how he came up with Fat Joe, Grand Puba, Lord Finesse, Buckwild, OC, and Show Biz and shares a story of how he ended up being featured on the legendary A Tribe Called Quest's Low End Theory album, and how that look was the perfect set up for his debut album. He told us about one night at The Tunnel when he had a conversation with Wyclef. That conversation would turn into Diamond D producing "The Score" from The Fugees album of that same title. Diamond D shares a story of when he was in Atlanta and in the car with Pac when he shot at two off duty police officers harassing a black man on the side of the road. Speaking of Atlanta, he also talked about working with the infamous Dungeon Family for the TLC creep remix and Outkast's Southernplayalisticcadillacmusik remix. D also dropped game and gems about taking care of your paperwork and business in this music industry. Things like making sure you have the right lawyers and deals. He also gave us some insight on how producers have to clear samples. As well how producers get creative to avoid all the troubles of sample clearing. D gave us his perspective on how AI in music can be used for good or bad. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Officials revealed a remarkable twist: the car that stopped the fleeing motorcycle suspect was driven by an off-duty deputy who put himself on duty and performed a legal intervention, ending the dangerous pursuit. The focus briefly turned to Dodgers vs. Toronto, Game #3 at Dodger Stadium. The tragic news deepened — Deputy Andrew Nunez was confirmed killed in the line of duty. Meanwhile, LAX faced a ground stop amid Day 27 of the government shutdown, and SNAP funds were nearing depletion. More details emerged: the off-duty deputy's intervention caused a major traffic jam on the 210 East in Upland, as the region mourned the fallen San Bernardino hero.

Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell and attorney Eric Bland now have a fuller picture of the #SquiresGate case in Hilton Head Island after it went viral last week. On today's episode, the gang talks about what it took to get the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office to fire off-duty deputy Master Sgt. Billy Squires after video emerged of him pointing his service weapon at four teenagers in his neighborhood on a Sunday evening while allegedly intoxicated and wearing part of his uniform over his regular clothes. A shocking video depicts the kids begging for their lives and one of them calling out his mom had people across the spectrum and all over the world calling for justice. It took five days for the sheriff's office to terminate Squires even though many of his 11 policy violations were immediately apparent. Mandy, Liz and Eric talk about what it took to pressure the good ole boys into holding one of their own accountable. *Since recording this episode, Live 5 News Reported SLED Chief Mark Keel said, “At this time, there is no evidence to indicate the fire was intentionally set. SLED agents have preliminarily found there is no evidence to support a pre-fire explosion.” Referring to Circuit Judge Diane Goodstein's house fire. ☕ Cups Up! ⚖️ Episode References “Deputy fired for ‘multiple' policy violations, Beaufort County sheriff says” - Live5 WCSC, Updated Oct 4, 2025

She opens up about raising kind kids in a wild world, moving to LA for more family time, and a maybe-someday live “Cheers!” tour. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell and attorney Eric Bland break down what happened Sunday night on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, when an off-duty Beaufort County Sheriff's Office deputy held at least three teenagers at gunpoint. In a chilling (and very unhinged) video, the teen boys, who were reportedly walking in the deputy's neighborhood, begged for their lives and cried for their mom as the deputy is seen pointing his service weapon at them individually, threatening and even dragging them on the ground. Mandy, Liz and Eric share their reactions to the video and discuss all the ways the case seems to be getting mishandled from the beginning — especially the part where BCSO hasn't arrested the deputy and is refusing to release his name as if this were pre-Internet days. Also on the show, Russell Laffitte has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for using his family's bank to help Alex Murdaugh steal money from Alex's clients. And former South Carolina Rep. RJ May — founding member of the state Freedom Caucus — has pleaded guilty to five federal counts of distributing child sexual abuse material … meaning, he's finally admitting that he's JoeBidennnn69. ☕ Cups Up! ⚖️ Episode References Off-duty deputy was caught on camera pointing his weapon at children in his neighborhood - @Mandy_Matney - Sept 28, 2025

This episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosted by Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton, takes a closer look at the unexpected perks of being a police officer (Amazon Affiliate) when you're off duty. From helping a neighbor in crisis to stepping in at the right moment, we explore how the badge carries influence and responsibility—even when you're not wearing it. Here's my USCCA referral link that I mentioned in our show today. Pros of Being an Off-Duty Cop: Immediate Trust in Emergencies – Neighbors and community members turn to you with confidence. Preparedness & Training – Ability to act quickly and provide guidance before official responders arrive. Community Role Model – Sets a tone of service and safety outside of the job. Stronger Neighborhood Bonds – Helping builds trust and relationships with those around you. Personal Fulfillment – Brings pride knowing your skills can directly impact lives beyond the shift. Cons of Being an Off-Duty Cop: Never Fully “Off” – Always being called on can make it hard to relax. High Expectations – Neighbors assume you'll always know what to do, even if it's outside police work. Risk of Liability – Getting involved off duty carries legal and safety risks. Emotional Burnout – Constant readiness can weigh heavily over time. Boundary Issues – Difficult to maintain personal privacy when your role spills into daily life. Why it feels like you're never truly off duty. The pride and purpose that comes with helping those around you. How to manage expectations without becoming the “neighborhood cop.” Navigating the balance between privacy and responsibility. Stories of meaningful off-duty moments that show the good side of wearing the badge.
