May 31, 2026, 9 AM; Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is scheduled to appear before a House Appropriations subcommittee Tuesday, where he could face new questions about the Department of Justice's mishandling of the investigation. In her interview with the House Oversight Committee Friday, Former Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared to shift blame for the mishandling of the files' release onto Blanche, saying she “delegated oversight” to Blanche for the investigation and the release of the files. Bondi also reportedly raised questions about FBI director Kash Patel's role in the files release. Congressman Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the Overisight Committee says the panel will subpoena both Blanche and Patel. Rep. Ro Khanna joins The Weekend to share his thoughts on Pam Bondi's evasive testimony. Washington has long perfected the art of political theater, where outrage is loudly paraded before cameras only to evaporate when accountability is required. On the campaign trail, fiery speeches about corruption and justice come easy—rhetoric designed for applause, not action. Yet when those same figures sit under oath, the fire dies out, replaced by carefully hedged statements and dismissive legal jargon. It's not about uncovering truth; it's about protecting power. That's the script Kash Patel followed to the letter. After crowing about Epstein's crimes for political gain, he turned around and downplayed survivor testimony as “not credible” when speaking before the Senate. The hypocrisy couldn't be clearer. What once served as an applause line became an inconvenient truth, quickly discarded in favor of denial. The mask slipped, the act collapsed, and what was revealed was not a defender of justice but yet another operator shielding the powerful under the guise of credibility.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Jon Herold comes in Wednesday on a slow news day that gets genuinely interesting when a chat member drops a link and Jon discovers 98,000 AI-powered Flock surveillance cameras mapped across the United States, run by a private company that shares data freely with law enforcement and ICE. He had never heard of them. Now he has feelings. Trump's cabinet meeting produced two notable moments: a detailed fraud task force update from JD Vance with Steven Miller claiming that stopping government fraud entirely could balance the federal budget, and Trump's tribute to outgoing DNI Tulsi Gabbard, which Jon uses as another reminder to temper expectations about her upcoming reports. On Iran, Trump said the country is negotiating on fumes with 250% inflation and an economy in free fall, and added that he does not care about the midterms, which Jon connects directly to the hibernation theory. Ken Paxton crushed John Cornyn in the Texas senate primary, making Cornyn the first Republican senator from Texas ever to lose his own party's nomination. SpaceX just received a $2.29 billion contract to build a military satellite network and Jon plays a 2022 Kash Patel clip that makes the whole thing feel less surprising. Steve Schmidt joins "The Jim Acosta Show" with a story that has to be heard to be believed: Kash Patel snorkeling at the USS Arizona, a submerged tomb containing the remains of 1,800 American sailors. The pattern of desecration — Arlington, Dover, Normandy, and now this — never stops, and as we head into the Memorial Day long weekend, he connects it to a broader collapse of the institutions and alliances built on American sacrifice. With Trump at 30% approval and the country starting to push back, Steve and Jim both wonder how much more can be tolerated. The article cites "more than two dozen" people, grants all of them anonymity, and names exactly zero of them. Not one person willing to put their name behind what they told the journalist. If the story is true and Patel is the disaster they're describing, you'd think at least one of those two dozen people would stand up and say so publicly. Instead, we get a wall of shadows. That's not journalism. That's a drive-by.Now, I want to be straight with you about what Patel is actually up against, because this lawsuit — however satisfying it may feel — faces a serious legal obstacle. Patel is a public official, which means he can't win a defamation case just by proving the story is false. Under the New York Times v. Sullivan standard, he has to prove actual malice — that The Atlantic either knew the claims were false when they published them, or acted with reckless disregard for whether they were true or false. That is a brutally high bar, and it's the bar that has killed more defamation suits against media organizations than almost anything else.So here's the question we're going to dig into today: does the complete absence of named, accountable sources — combined with the FBI's on-record denials before publication — give Patel enough to argue reckless disregard? We'll walk through the lawsuit, the legal standard, and what it's actually going to take for Patel to win this thing.Join me LIVE at 11 AM ET as I break it all down!Episode #1297.

The pigs are at the trough. Trump's expected overseas real estate income has tripled to $430 million in his second term. Eric Trump is doing deals in China while Taiwan goes unmentioned and Iran keeps arming the people killing Ukrainians and Americans. Nvidia's CEO is being paraded around as the administration floats opening AI chip markets to Beijing. Don Jr. is tied to a drone company that just landed a Pentagon contract — inside a defense budget heading toward $1.5 trillion, a 40% spike with no apparent guardrails on family conflicts of interest. This isn't politics. It's a national security fire sale, and the Angry Middle smells it. This solo briefing connects the dots the legacy press keeps siloed: the foreign income filings, the Saudi-linked licensing deals, the Pentagon trough, Kash Patel's reality-TV FBI tour, and the lesson from Hungary — that corruption, not ideology, is what finally moved Orban's voters. With 45% of Americans now independent and 60% of young people unaffiliated, the rigged two-party system is on notice. The question isn't whether people are furious. It's whether that fury gets channeled into November, into independent veteran candidates, and into the structural reforms — the Raskin list and beyond — that should already be law. -WATCH full video of this episode here. -Join IVA and stand up to Trump's Forever Wars. -Learn more about Paul's work to elect a new generation of independent leaders with Independent Veterans of America. -Learn more about American Veterans for Ukraine here. -Remember Independent is an Attitude. -Learn more about The Headstrong Project for Veterans, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), and Department of Veterans Affairs resources in your area. Michael Wolff and Daily Beast executive editor Hugh Dougherty unpack Trump's bruising return from China, where the man who built his political identity around confronting Beijing now finds himself accused of capitulation, spinning shaky victories while China emerges stronger than ever. Wolff gets inside Trump's mindset as mounting crises close in at once: a worsening Iran conflict with no clear exit, rising inflation and gas prices, ICE raids fueling backlash inside and outside MAGA, explosive questions about Trump family business dealings, and a White House culture driven by grift, loyalty tests, and surreal characters like Natalie Harp shadowing the president with a portable printer full of praise. From Trump Mobile phones reportedly made in China to Kash Patel scandals and billion-dollar settlement controversies, the episode maps out an administration trapped between performance and collapse while Trump searches for a way to declare victory in situations even his closest allies can't explain away. Wolff argues that Trump's mental decline is no longer possible to ignore, pointing to his overnight Truth Social rants, escalating paranoia, and what aides privately fear is behavior spinning further out of control, while Dougherty details why even major media outlets are finally starting to acknowledge it. The conversation also turns to the growing instability inside the administration itself, including Kash Patel's mounting controversies at the FBI, RFK Jr.'s increasingly alarming role in public health, and the quiet panic spreading among Trump insiders as scandals, firings, and public humiliations pile up behind the scenes. Today's Headlines: Trump's personal aide Natalie Harp — dubbed the "Human Printer" by the Wall Street Journal — follows the president around with a printer for his Truth Social posts and is responsible for his midnight rage posting, including the Obama monkeys video, because no one else on his comms team has any visibility into what goes out at 2am. Trump returned from China having spent most of his time complimenting Xi Jinping's height, claiming Xi promised to stop arming Iran while continuing to buy their oil, getting nowhere on tariffs, and receiving a firm warning to back off Taiwan — which makes 70% of the world's semiconductors — with the one concrete outcome being China agreeing to buy 200 Boeing jets, which sent Boeing's stock down 4% because the market wanted 500. Kash Patel, meanwhile, used an FBI work trip to Hawaii to do a "VIP snorkel" around the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor where snorkeling is explicitly prohibited, and is separately being reported to have padded the FBI's arrest statistics by adding people to the Most Wanted List right before they're captured. The FDA commissioner resigned after the administration approved blueberry, mango, and menthol flavored vaping pods over his objections, and RFK Jr.'s chief spokesperson quit the next day for the same reason — flavored vapes being, apparently, everyone's line in the sand. On a darker public health note, ProPublica found that the growing MAHA-driven trend of parents rejecting Vitamin K shots for newborns — not a vaccine, just a blood-clotting intervention — has led to a measurable increase in infant deaths from preventable brain bleeds. Greg Kelly Reports | May 14, 2026 - Trump's China trip is framed as a flex of American leverage, with Xi rolling out full-pageantry treatment while the delegation arrives loaded with business power, military weight, and no Biden-style family baggage. - Biden's old China relationship is cast as something closer to compromise than diplomacy, with Hunter's presence and Joe's endless bragging about Xi used as proof that the family business always shadowed the state business. - Comey and the intelligence class are portrayed as a self-appointed ruling caste, openly treating elected leaders as temporary nuisances while framing permanent bureaucrats as the only people fit to govern. - Kash Patel is defended as the rare FBI outsider actually qualified for the job, while the backlash against him is presented as pure deep-state panic over losing control of the bureau. - A supposed raid on Tulsi Gabbard's orbit turns into a warning sign either way: whether the story is inflated or not, the episode argues the real fight over declassification, intelligence secrecy, and internal sabotage is very real. Jason Kander and Ravi Gupta break down the escalating chaos surrounding Trump's handling of the conflict with Iran, as Marco Rubio struggles to explain the administration's goals and new reporting raises alarms about the long-term consequences of Trump's reckless foreign policy. They analyze Trump's rambling comments on inflation and the economy, along with a striking Robert Kagan piece arguing that Iran may have strategically outmaneuvered the United States while Trump projects weakness abroad. Kander and Gupta also dive into the implications of a major Virginia Supreme Court redistricting ruling and what it could mean for Republicans' efforts to cling to power through manipulated maps. Plus, they discuss Trump's unhinged late-night social media spree targeting Obama, Clinton, and other political enemies, growing concerns about his mental fitness, Kash Patel's combative Senate performance, and new polling showing Americans increasingly rejecting Trump and Republicans on immigration. Ayman Mohyeldin is in for Nicolle Wallace. Ayman covers Donald Trump's state visit to China as the war in Iran continues. New reporting from the Washington Post says that U.S. intelligence has found the Chinese government to be using the war in Iran as an opportunity to undermine the United States. Later, Ayman covers the breaking news from the Associated Press that FBI Director Kash Patel took part in what government officials described as a “VIP snorkel” around a Pearl Harbor memorial. This comes after a string of stories about Patel's frequent drinking and erratic behavior during his time as FBI Director. Thursday, May 14th, 2026 Today, Kash Patel is lying about his success stats at the FBI; the Pentagon is considering changing the name of the war in Iran if the ceasefire fails which is a weird headline given there was an active naval blockade this whole time meaning there can't have been a ceasefire; a bill to end the war in the Senate failed because Fetterman voted against it; Cindy Burbank won the Democratic nomination for Senate in Nebraska and we'll tell you why that's interesting; Justice KBJ is asking the public to support judicial independence because it's under attack; Brad Raffensperger has been hit with multiple death threats; Rand Paul's son William hurled antisemitic insults at Rep Mike Lawler; and Allison and Dana deliver your Good News. This time John's monologue is 2 fold. First he talks about the Trump Mobile "T1" gold smartphone which is still unreleased and has faced non-stop delays, missing its initial August 2025 launch date. Trump is still promising to ship units soon and the website continues to accept $100 deposits on the $499 device. Second, he discusses Miami residents filing a federal lawsuit over land gifted to Trump by the state of Florida for use as his Presidential Library and skyscraper hotel; and the very wrinkly 22 ft golden statue of Trump erected at his National Doral golf course in Miami which local pastors immediately claimed is NOT idolatry. Then, John jokes with actor and podcast star Bob Cesca. They chat about Trump's pregnancy push, his reflecting pool renovation, and the wonders of NY Mayor Zoran Mamdani. Next, Desimber Rose and Dillon Naber Cruz (AKA The God Squad) are back to talk about Trump's gold statue and Trump's big prayer festival this Sunday; according to organizers, it's intended to honor America's Christian roots and rededicate the nation for its 250th anniversary. Then winding it up, legal analyst Dr. Tracy Pearson is back to chat about Kash Patel's goofy testimony lying his pants off before the Senate appropriations subcommittee and Trump's visit to China.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

- A CIA whistleblower blows open the COVID origin cover-up, with Fauci cast as the central liar who buries the lab story to protect himself and everyone tied to it. - The media is accused of choosing trivia over scandal, obsessing over a White House ballroom while downplaying fraud, FBI wins, and the deeper COVID reckoning. - Kash Patel turns a Senate hearing into a counterattack, brushing off drinking smears and hitting back at Chris Van Hollen with his own taxpayer-funded bar tab and El Salvador stunt. - Los Angeles becomes the live test case for Democratic decay, with Spencer Pratt framed as the outsider exposing Karen Bass as incompetent, rattled, and politically hollow. - The broader thesis is relentless: from judges to late-night hosts to big-city politicians, the left no longer persuades, governs, or even hides its dysfunction — it just keeps performing collapse in public. The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal joins Himmy to critique Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for refusing to partner with Marjorie Taylor Greene on efforts to cut military aid to Israel while calling Greene a "white nationalist, even though AOC previously partnered with Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton to sanction China. He argues that AOC's refusal is a calculated effort to prioritize identity politics over the desire to stop genocide. He adds that while AOC claims to care about outcomes, she voted against Greene's amendment to strip $500 million from Israel's Iron Dome, voted "present" on another weapons package, and only belatedly called the Gaza massacre a genocide after being confronted by activists. Max contrasts Greene, who "gave up her political career" by defying Donald Trump to stand against genocide and the Epstein class, with AOC, who "protected the architects of genocide" and has now "fully morphed into Nancy Pelosi Jr." He concludes that AOC is an "empty vessel" for calculating strategists who want to use Palestine to win over young voters while preserving imperialism, and that if she runs for president, she will maintain the cold war with China and Russia despite her progressive branding. Plus segments on the UN's shocking reversal on doomsday climate predictions and Trump advisor Kevin Hassett raving about increased credit card spending. Also featuring Stef Zamorano, Tony Heller and Mike MacRae. And a phone call from Kash Patel!
Today's Headlines: Trump had a full episode between 1am and sunrise Tuesday, posting dozens of times about the 2020 election, the reflecting pool, and Barack Obama — before waking up and telling reporters he doesn't think about Americans' financial situations "at all." He also disowned his favorite pool guy after the reflecting pool paint job came out bubbly, uneven, and full of holes, despite having previously bragged about this being the greatest pool contractor in history — he then flew to China to meet Xi Jinping, bringing 16 CEOs including Elon Musk and Tim Cook, to meet with the country actively helping Iran win his war. On the war front, the Pentagon is considering renaming the conflict "Operation Sledgehammer" — not just rebranding, but a legal strategy to restart the 60-day congressional authorization clock — while Hegseth told Congress the $29 billion war could resume without their approval, which even some Republicans found uncomfortable but not uncomfortable enough to act on. Meanwhile on Capitol Hill, Kash Patel denied the drinking allegations before Congress and offered to take an alcohol disorder test only if Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen takes it with him, which is a choice. In Epstein files news, Democrats held a field hearing in Palm Beach where Epstein survivors testified, including one woman appearing publicly for the first time only because her name was published unredacted in the files, who revealed Epstein was assaulting her while in prison and that she couldn't report it because her visa was tied to him — one of at least 55 people whose immigration status was connected to his estate. In a completely under-covered story, the former mayor of Arcadia, California pleaded guilty to acting as an illegal foreign agent for China after running a fake local news site publishing pro-China propaganda on government directives. And finally, Stephen Colbert's late night show ends next Thursday, closing out with Seth Meyers, John Oliver, and both Jimmys — which was a good TV moment in an otherwise chaotic week. Because Donald Trump has so thoroughly hijacked the Department of Justice, the public can no longer be confident that a criminal investigation or indictment is legitimate. The default assumption is that official DOJ actions are about servicing Trump's needs for validation, power, or retribution—like the latest seashell-related charges against Comey. Acting AG Todd Blanche acts like a mobster, wears his partisanship on his sleeve, and appears to be breaking the law himself. And at the FBI, Kash Patel presides over a smaller and demoralized and distracted staff, which leaves Comey worried for the safety of our country. Plus, the prospects for accountability post-Trump and the stepped-up investigations into journalists reporting news the administration does not like.James Comey joins Tim Miller.show notes Comey's new thriller, "Red Verdict" Just announced: San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and our own MAGA culture expert, Will Sommer, will join the gang on stage at Bulwark Live: San Diego on May 20. FBI Director Kash Patel squared off with Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen today and it got ugly. Senator Van Hollen asked Patel about “The Atlantic” article alleging excessive drinking on the job and Patel fired back, accusing Van Hollen of “slingin’ margaritas” with a “gangbanger.” Patel was referring to a meeting the Senator had with a mistakenly deported man, where margaritas were placed on the table, but Van Hollen denied drinking them.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Congressional Republicans plan to spend $1 billion in taxpayer money on Trump's ballroom, claiming the money is necessary for "security" — and creating a huge political problem for themselves. The president and his cabinet make a show of ignoring the pain Americans are feeling at the gas pump, as the US and Iran circle around an underwhelming peace deal. JD Vance's 2028 stock slides as Republican voters turn their attention to Marco Rubio. Dan and Jon discuss the latest, including how Democrats should respond to a new wave of Republican gerrymandering in the South and a new report from The Atlantic that Kash Patel has been handing out personalized bottles of bourbon while on the job. Then, Tom Steyer stops by the studio to talk to Lovett about his race for California governor.
Trump gives us a billion reasons to hate his ballroom, Kash Patel is drowning in leaks, and RFK Jr. will have to pry our pills from our cold, tan hands. Then Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney tackle life's big questions and predict the next great Saturday Night Live host. And Lovett is on one when we take a look at our Second Thoughts.
