A composite episode containing many CWB Segments. After a brief introduction from yours truly, I play a cut from an often overlooked and forgotten documentary about the 2000 election, before basting the senses with a great Noam Chomsky clip on the two party political system – a telling clip where he sites international organizations begging America to “try and act like a civilized country”. From there I speak on the notion of power as seen by the Moderate Left and the Radical Left; I speak about Joe Biden’s symbolic nature, Andrew Yang’s ascension and Tulsi Gabbard’s removal from the 3rd debate stage. I try to connect these last three concepts to the chess board idea I began building in the first two episodes. I play a couple very important clips in between these segments, the first is from Status Coup while the second is from Mi Casa Su Casa. The clip from MCSC may be the most impactful as it contains an article which connects many prominent Democratic officials to “the club” talked about by the late George Carlin. There is a bit more in the episode but I’ll allow you to discover that for yourself. Enjoy!
Johanny Cepeda-Freyitz owner of ‘Mi Casa Su Casa” says SCORE became a part of her business after she already opened her restaurant. Her restaurant was open for several years when the economy tanked and she needed help and ideas to stay alive and continue to grow. She says, “What I remember most about SCORE is they were there, they listened and they gave me great advice”. Johanny got homework assignments. She was asked basic questions about finances and pricing. SCORE mentors were a great sounding board for her to talk through business issues. She was impressed that they didn’t know her at all but gave freely of their time to help her through a difficult part of her business journey. She says they gave her confidence and hope during an economic crisis when she was wondering if she should throw in the towel or keep going. That was 5 years ago and now she is celebrating 9 years in business. Johanny says, “One of the things I learned was not to be scared or embarrassed by what I was going through as a business”.

Martin McNair is a mastermind for a lot of reasons. I admire him because he trained his mind to overcome struggle. As a young man, Martin struggled with addiction and a criminal mentality. Authorities sent him to prison when he was in his mid 20s. Rather than allowing the prison to define him, Martin took fate into his own hands. He educated himself. He disciplined himself. He created a plan to ensure that when he returned to society he would return strong, with his dignity intact. The first of Martin’s plan was to remain sober. Then, he focused on earning a sustainable income. He cleaned for a living. Then he launched a series of business that brought more financial stability. For the past several years, however, Martin has been living as the change that he wants to see in the world. By building the nonprofit “Mi Casa Su Casa,” he helps people who’ve served multiple decades in prison. Martin and his team providing housing and wrap-around services that include anger management, substance abuse, and job training. He’s an impressive guy, showing that anyone can overcome struggle. They simply must have a plan, and follow the path of masterminds. At Martin’s facility, he advocates for leadership, which his team defines as follows: Lead by example Establish priorities Accept responsility Develop procedures Exercise good judgment Remain calm Sacrifice when necessary Help those in need Integrate the strength of others Position yourself to win Those who would like to connect with Martin can reach him through the organization at the following addresses: Mi Casa Su Casa 411 Millington Avenue Baltimore, MD 21223 Phone: 443-219-7855 m.mcnair@mycasaliving.org
