On Thursday July 5th, 2018 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will be joined by author Stephen Flowers, Ph.D. to review and discuss the new revised edition of "The Fraternitas Saturni" (2018). This being the fourth version of the original copyrighted in 1990, and including previously unpublished material making this rendition sensational in occult circles. Flowers traces the FS from its beginning, with Crowley and the O.T.O. inspiring Gregor Gregorius in 1925, through its activities in the Wiemar era, its suppression by the Nazis, its revival after WW II and its eventual split into three bodies after Gregorius died in 1964. We are introduced to the "Adonism" of Franz Sattler (Dr. Musallam) a neo-pagan Venus-Adonis cult (!) that included Wilhelm Quaintscher and Franz Bardon who carried it with them into the Frateritas Saturni. We revisit the infamous FOGC black lodge from Frabato, and the Weida Conference in which Crowley attempted to take over organized occultism in Germany. Most importantly Dr.Flowers presents a detailed analysis of the Gnostic and Luciferian philosophies and doctrines behind the Saturian Gnosis. He outlines their cumbersome 33 degree system and their training program; much of it very similar to Franz Bardon's work. Of course the FS is most noted for its sex magick and we have one of those rituals provided. Quite frankly, this book raises as many questions as it answers, but It is well documented with references to works in German that some of us are going to want translated. In this episode, Rocky, Mayur, Abhinandan and Prashant visit the wild wild west of India: Uttar Pradesh. As the gang wonders where to begin, Rocky decides to go someplace that’s “done to death” and talks about why it still stands ground: Tunday Kababi in Lucknow. While Rocky, Abhinandan and Prashant cannot stop gushing over the delicious food, Mayur enlightens listeners about how the famous kebab place came to be. Rocky says Tunday has a taste that’s unmatched anywhere else in the world, which is what makes it the legend it is today. From Tunday Kababi, which was born at the behest of a king’s farmaaish, the group heads towards a present-day king, Nawab Jaafar Mir Abdullah’s royal kitchen. Here, apart from being fed some exquisite Raan Ke Kabab Musallam and Parche Kebab, the team learns, from the king himself, some important lessons on the respect that must be bestowed on food in verbal discourse. Lucknow is also home to Gyaan Vaishno Dhaba, which is famous for its home-style food, and Pandit Raja Thandai, credited with having served thandai to none other than Atal Bihari Vajpayee. They also attend a dangal, stuff themselves with sweets at Ram Asrey Sweets, and go on a quest to find the much-recommended Rahim Ki Nihari. My guest today is Naira Musallam PhD and co-founder of SightX, one of my absolute favorite companies in the industry right now. Welcome to the Happy Market Research Podcast. [00:47] Thank you for having me and thanks for the shout-out. [00:50] Yeah, of course. Well, thanks for creating technology that is adding a ton of value to the market research space. Tell us a little bit about SightX. [00:58] Yes, So, SightX came about to solve for the problem that many in this space experience, and that is one for the fragmentation. The idea that you have to rely on multiple tools to be able to go from collection to cleaning, to formatting, to restructuring, to uploading into another platform. We thought we can do a little bit better by streamlining the process one. So, it is a technology that fits for the needs of 2019 and to also solve for the issue of expertise. The world that we live in really expect everybody nowadays in the space to be experts in what they're doing, to get it right, to get it deep, to get it fast with the massive amount of data. And so, how do you do that? Like how do you deliver better, faster, deeper with outdated technology? So, we said we're going to just develop a technology that enables people to deliver on these expectations. [02:28] I think that there's a couple of points that I’ve separated out, right? One is the disparate number of tools that are required in order to do a research project. On a qualitative basis, there's approximately six to eight tools that are used just to recruit people. It's really funny… Between Excel. Anyway, that's a different topic. But my point is that… Well, Stacey Walker, Head of Insights for Adobe told me, ”I'm sick of all the tools. I don't want to hear about another new tool,” which is really interesting, right? So, the ability to be able to consolidate your work into a single platform means that you're getting consistent data structures, consistent ways of interacting with that data, analyzing that data. It should create a tremendous amount of velocity improvement. [03:19] Yeah, I fully agree and sympathize with the sentiment of not wanting to see one more tool. Look, I always tell people nowadays we have so many options, right? It's more about how are you experiencing it and how are you getting there. So, to even take it out of market research, I say you want to go from New York to California. Do you want to ride on a bus or do you want to take a helicopter that is waiting outside of your home, right? Like for me, these are like the analogies, like these are the tradeoffs and these are like the solutions, quite frankly, that we have to continuously and think about. How do we do better?
