“As delegates gather in London for the annual Grain Market Outlook Conference today, David Eudall and Peter Collier of AHDB’s Market Intelligence sit down to review the latest market data. David and Peter discuss global issues, with lower prices resulting from trade surpluses meaning plenty of export competition for cereals. Meanwhile it’s a varied picture for oilseeds with plenty of soya beans coming from the US but a significantly reduced rapeseed crop across Europe. Turning to the UK, David and Peter are almost knocked of their chairs by the sheer size of the UK barley crop, piling on the pressure to find export opportunities but with Brexit looming finding demand is going to be a big challenge.
