In this episode of the show, Binksy, Baldy, Jamie and Stu look back at week 1 of IPL 2025 through a stock market lens. Who are we buying? Who are we selling? And what are we watching with our fingers poised ready to pounce in the coming weeks? We start on a positive note, highlighting a balanced RCB side unbeaten at the time of recording thanks to a bowling attack featuring the quality of Josh Hazlewood and a top order that's firing thanks to Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Rajit Patidar and co. In the Buy section of the show there's also praise for Sai Sudharsan, MS Dhoni and wicketkeepers in general. We're watching the impact player performances and how that's impacting games and batting lineups. We're selling a star-studded Mumbai Indians batting lineup featuring Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and friends because we can't understand why they're continuing to struggle, and watching closely to see how much tinkering do with their teamsheet, tactics and batting lineup with the likes of Curran, Dhoni, Jadeja and Ashwin who could all slide up and down the middle order. To round out the show, there's chat about whether teams will score 300, how home ground advantage could play a role and if it is too early to be worried about Pat Cummins and his SRH bowling attack. We'll be back in your feed later in the week with more of a game review style show. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Jamie, Baldy and Stu kick off the IPL 2025 coverage by previewing the fortunes of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings. We start with a Baldy explainer, and a quick chat about the impact of the mega auction, before moving straight into the team previews. We discuss what excites us about our chosen teams, whether that's particular players or team storylines, and whether they'll be in title contention come the business end of the tournament. First up is KKR, in which Binksy asks why they aren't favourites with the betting agencies, highlights the importance of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine again, as well as the talented Indian bowling core featuring the likes of Varun Chakravarthy, Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora. There's also a word on Ajinkya Rahane taking over as captain. Next is Sunrisers Hyderabad, in which Stu gets excited about songs, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, the power-packed batting lineup and bowling reinforcements, before asking whether this team can go one better in 2025. For the Rajasthan Royals, the absence of Jos Buttler is the question on our minds. Without him and others, they look weaker and the betting agencies have written them off. But can Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and co. make those odds look silly when the winners medals are handed out at the end of May? The Mumbai Indians are up fourth, and Baldy proceeds with caution when discussing their favouritism with the bookmakers. Will the star-studded batting lineup featuring Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and friends deliver in 2025? Or will the absence of Jasprit Bumrah - for how long? - be too difficult to overcome with the ball in hand? To round out part one of our preview, Jamie takes a look at CSK, highlighting the plethora of options their allrounder-packed squad provides them. What role will Rachin Ravindra play? Will MS Dhoni continue his six-hitting exploits? And when the team does settle on a best XI, will it be strong enough to take them to the final? We'll be back in your feed again at the end of the week with the second episode of our IPL 2025 Preview. In this episode of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy daily review, Baldy and Stu review the Group A clash between India and Pakistan, and look ahead to the Black Caps' upcoming match against Bangladesh. It was a fairly comfortable Indian victory in the end in what shaped as an important fixture for both sides. Babar Azam flashed his quality early on, but Hardik Pandya and the Indian spin trio chipped out wickets whenever they were needed. Despite a couple of quality deliveries to dismiss Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, once Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer built a partnership, it became clear the 240 was never going to be enough, with Kohli sealing his hundred, the win and India's spot in the semi-finals with the last shot of the match. In this episode of the Top Order Podcast, Binksy, Jamie, Baldy and Raj discuss some of the major talking points from the past week, including the England v India T20 series, Australia's innings victories in the tests against Sri Lanka & India, plus a Sachin Tendulkar/Steve Smith stat-off to finish. We start the show by discussing Australia's WAshes victory and the fallout for an England side that has performed well below their own expectations. Will there be changes at the top? There's also praise for Alana King, Annabel Sutherland, Beth Mooney, Ash Gardner and more. Next up we move to India's T20 series with England. The show was recorded before India's crushing win in the 5th match, but the discussion around England's mixed performances shone through. There are question marks around the finishing and concussion substitutes, but plenty of positives for Varun Chakravarthy and also Hardik Pandya's leadership. After that we move to another big Australian victory - the innings win against Sri Lanka at Galle. We talk about the manner of the victory and the dominant performance, but of course Baldy is always looking for improvements from this Australian team. Usman Khawaja and Josh Inglis went big, but should Sam Konstas have played? How well did the Aussie spinners bowl? And what was Dhananjaya De Silva doing? To round out the show, it was a good old fashioned head-to-head battle as the boys discuss the records of Sachin Tendulkar and Steve Smith after the latter passed 10,000 runs. How good was head coach Gautam Gambhir in his first press meet as head coach? First things first, full marks for his punctuality. He sat down to address several questions with chairman of selection committee Ajit Agarkar before India departed for the tour of Sri Lanka. One of the most interesting things to emerge out of the press conference was the reasoning for India appointing Suryakumar Yadav ahead of Hardik Pandya as T20I captain. Was injury concerns the only reason why India decided to snub Hardik Pandya? Ajit Agarkar mentioned ‘feedback from the dressing room' as one of the main reasons behind India naming Surya as Rohit Sharma's successor. Are you convinced by these reasons?  Also, Gautam Gambhir has backed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to play until the 2027 ODI World Cup. Can the two seniors push it until 2027? Did Gambhir make a U-turn with this statement?  And what to make of Shubman Gill's appointment as the vice captain in ODIs and T20Is. Does he deserve an automatic spot in the shortest format?  Akshay Ramesh, Kingshuk Kusari and Alan Jose John discuss the much talked about press conference in the latest episode of the Sledging Room podcast. Just when Hardik Pandya was poised to take over as captain of the Indian team, reports from the Indian media suggested that the BCCI was rethinking and re-evaluating its options. Suryakumar Yadav was floated as a strong option because of his consistency in fitness and his record with the Indian team in the Australia and South Africa series. The discussion continued the selection panel's tradition of making very late adjustments to the squad. Just like Rinku Singh was not included at the very last minute in the Indian T20 World Cup team, Pandya's position as Rohit Sharma's successor in the T20I side has been put in doubt. In this episode of the Sledging Room podcast, Kingshuk Kusari, Alan John, and Debodinna Chakraborty discuss the onset of Gautam Gambhir's era in the Indian team and how it could be one of the most exciting periods for viewers in the country's cricket history. Gautam Gambhir has a big personality, and it is expected that his on-the-face attitude will be injected into the Indian side. If that happens, India could be an absolute force to reckon with in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, set to be played later this year in Australia. But before that happens, India has to get its house in order. There are questions about the transition, the absence of a new support staff for the SL series, and who, between Suryakumar and Hardik, will take over the Indian side after Rohit Sharma's retirement. In this episode of the show, Raj and Stu look back at the final four games of the Super 8 stage at the Men's T20 World Cup with one eye on the semi finals, which will see India take on England and South Africa vs Afghanistan. We start the show by discussing India's win against Australia, which sent the Aussies home. There's huge praise for Rohit Sharma's impressive performance, plus a brilliant catch from Axar Patel, a remarkable swivel from Hardik Pandya and a Kuldeep Yadav googly to get excited about. For their semi final opponents, England, it was a much cruisier stroll into the knockout stages, with a hat trick from Chris Jordan and the power hitting of Jos Buttler taking them to a dominant win against the USA. Are they shifting into top gear at the right time? Will it be enough to defeat India? From there we move to two nail-biting finishes - South Africa almost choking but then coming through when it mattered most against the West Indies, and then Afghanistan finding a way in between the rain against Bangladesh. Can this new South Africa be relied on? Who thought the dream was over when Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen collapsed in a heap? How did Rashid Khan not win player of the match? Will Gurbaz be available? Do fairytales come true? And Gulbadin fell over!!!!!! We are planning to record regularly throughout the next phases of the tournament, so expect to be in your feed every few days through to the final match - our next show will be a review of the semi-finals/look ahead to the final. In this episode of the show, we look back at a busy week of games at the T20 World Cup, which saw India and the USA beat Pakistan, Afghanistan beat New Zealand, plus Australia and South Africa take control of their groups. We start the show by discussing the low-scoring thriller between India and Pakistan, which saw Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and others shine as India roared home to secure a crucial victory in Group A. We discuss Saurabh Netravalkar and USA's Super Over tactics, whether there's still a chance for Pakistan and wonder why teams are unable to turn good batting starts into big scores. In Group B we heap praise on Scotland's performances so far, before turning our attention to the marquee matchup between Australia and England. Baldy enjoyed David Warner's control of the powerplay, Binksy couldn't understand England's tactics and Adam Zampa's consistency came into the spotlight. As attention turned to Group C, it was Stu and Raj's turn to show their frustration, as we looked back at an uncharacteristically poor performance by the Black Caps, particularly in the field. We talked team selection, build up, whether they can bounce back against the West Indies or if their tournament is as good as over already. To round out the show, we try to predict who will make it out of Group D, with South Africa taking charge and the Netherlands perhaps the most impressive of the other sides so far. Have you seen a more dominant campaign than this? KKR looked like champions and played like champions, winning the IPL 2024 trophy in style. They won 9 out of 14 matches in the league stage and hammered the SunRisers in Qualifier 1 to progress to the final. Let's not talk about the title match! It was one of the most one-sided tournament finals, definitely the most one-sided IPL final. Shreyas Iyer became only the fifth Indian captain after MS Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya to win the IPL trophy. For Gambhir, it was a sensational return to Kolkata as the team's mentor. And for Pat Cummins, it was the first major tournament defeat as captain. Many Indian fans joked about SRH choking on Sunday, wondering why another team led by Cummins did not choke on November 19, 2023. KKR's dominant run brings us to this question: Who should take credit for their triumph? Should it be Gautam Gambhir? Yes, he deserves a lot of credit for the glorious run. Having taken over as the mentor, Gambhir brought role clarity and kept the team focused on the ultimate prize. Then there is coach Chandrakant Pandit, who has added the IPL crown to his decorated trophy cabinet. How much credit should Shreyas Iyer, the captain, deserve? A lot. The India batter had a difficult period before the IPL, losing his central contract and battling an injury. However, he never let that affect his leadership on the field. He stepped up with the bat in crunch situations and looked calm and composed. Should Shreyas be a future candidate for India captaincy? In the latest episode of the Sledging Room Podcast, Akshay Ramesh, Saurabh Kumar, and Kingshuk Kusari reflect on KKR's run. We have also picked our IPL 2024 Team of the Tournament. Tune in! Sunil Gavaskar shredded Virat Kohli's arguments into pieces. In one of the most straightforward pieces of television commentary, the legendary India batter lashed out at Virat Kohli, who had questioned his critics and the credibility of people who spoke about his strike rate. Kohli has often stressed the importance of not listening to outside noise, but it seems the superstar batter lets criticism affect him. In a strongly worded post-match interview midway through the IPL 2024 season, he attacked his critics and questioned people 'sitting in a box' and talking about his strike rate. Gavaskar's takedown of Kohli's comments has also exposed the toxic nature of a section of fans on social media. How can you go and question Sunil Gavaskar's credentials as a cricketer? Well, here's a simple question to all toxic fans: When did you start following the game? At the same time, another question arises: Is Gavaskar targeting only a few? Why go on a rant against Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli? Why not talk about Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav? Meanwhile, is there any point in questioning MS Dhoni's batting position for CSK? Why is so much noise about what the former wicketkeeper, who is in the twilight of his career, is doing for the Super Kings in what probably is his last IPL season as a player? India has named a 15-man squad with four reserve players under Rohit Sharma's leadership for the T20 World Cup 2024. While the top order is heavily stacked with experienced veterans like Rohit, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar, the squad is completed by four spinners, three pacers, and two wicketkeepers. There was a joy for Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal, but despair for Rinku Singh, one of India's brightest T20 finds, who was dropped to reserves when the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee finalized India's squad in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Before the IPL began, Rinku was a top contender for the T20 World Cup squad, known for his finishing skills akin to MS Dhoni's. In his 15 T20Is for India, he's scored 356 runs at an impressive average of 89 and a striking rate of 176.23. But the star finisher was dropped to the reserves when the final squad was announced. It remains to be seen who will fulfil the finisher's job in the World Cup in Rinku's absence, as Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja have both struggled recently. One of the wicketkeepers, either Sanju Samson or Rishabh Pant, will have to do it. Shivam Dube has earned his maiden call-up with first-choice all-rounder Hardik Pandya named vice-captain. With spin likely to play a significant role in Caribbean conditions, Chahal's inclusion could prove vital. However, the composition of the final lineup, particularly regarding the batting order, remains a decision for the team management. Concerns also linger over India's pace bowling stocks, with Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh not being in the best of their forms in IPL 2024. Will India miss Rinku Singh's services, and how will the final playing XI shape up once the tournament begins in the Carribean? Saurabh Kumar, Akshay Ramesh, and Sabyasachi Chowdhary discuss how strong is India's T20 World Cup squad in the latest episode of Sledging Room Podcast.

Hello Shreyas, welcome back on Audiogyan and also a welcome as my co-host And for today's episode which is also my domain of designing Digital products, we have a perfect guest and a common friend, Hardik Pandya. He is a Design leader with an innate love for building products with good design. Currently He is a Senior Vice President, Design of The Unacademy Group. Previously a Design Lead at Google Search, G Suite and Google Cloud, Ola and more.   Questions How did you get into Design? You are a lateral entrant? What were early days like? Can you walk us through your journey towards being a lead designer? Were there things that came fairly naturally, like taking ownership and initiative, and were things you had to deliberately learn? In No Career Conversations in Isolation, you write “The way to get to the work you want to be doing in the future is earning the trust of your manager. Are there any stories or examples you can share where earning that trust unlocked the opportunity you were looking for? Now that you are heading teams, how does your typical day look like? Do you happen to work hands-on still? From where and how do you hire? Do you look for talent laterally? How do you spot talent? Junior / nerdy / geeky / high end colleges / pedigree? Is hiring a gamble? What are some traits you look for when you're hiring a senior designer? How do you actually tell if they possess those traits? What are some common mistakes you see designers make with portfolios? Who have been your best hires and why? Which background did they come from? A lot of hiring conversations tend to be very backward looking i.e the work they've done, the situations they've been in and so on. But, I believe the real alpha, especially from a company's point of view is being able to gauge what they can do in the future. What's your take on this and how do you try to identify potential in designers? What skills do you expect from designers for the future in the world of AI? The IPL ‘fan wars': Why is Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya getting booed at every venue? | In Focus podcast

The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is seeing a rather unusual controversy – Indian fans have been booing, and in some cases, abusing, a star player of the national team wherever he's gone to play. At the receiving end is Hardik Pandya, the erstwhile captain of Gujarat Titans, who has moved to Mumbai Indians. He is now the skipper of Mumbai Indians, replacing Rohit Sharma, who led the team to the title five times in ten years. Franchises chop and change their teams and captains all the time – it is part and parcel of club sport. And yet, Pandya has faced really hostile crowds at every venue he's played so far, to the extent that there were speculative media reports on some special security arrangements at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. What explains this hostility? Is this a phenomenon of what some commentators have described as “fan wars”? Guest: Amol Karhadkar from The Hindu's Sports Bureau. Host: G. Sampath, Social Affairs Editor, The Hindu. Edited by Sharmada Venkatasubramanian.

Royal Enfield. More than just motorcycles, the brand forges brotherhood across the Indian highways. Owning a Royal Enfield is your passport to a fraternity of wind-chasers and adventure-seekers. It's not just about the ride; it's about the rider's rite of passage into a tribe that shares tales of rugged roads and starlit skies. The IPL is a cricketing carnival that is more than cricket. It builds communities, with fans bonding over their love for the game, city, and team. It is a spectacle where loyalty is measured in cheers and jeers and where every match is a communal celebration. Hardik Pandya can testify to this

NOTE - In the episode we say there will be 5 teams previewed in this episode, however things got out of hand - so we chopped the episode up and there will now be 4 IPL Team Preview episodes! The next episode will drop on Thursday (13/3) with parts 3 and 4 coming on Saturday and Monday. It is IPL 2024 preview time! This two part preview will cover every team in the competition in detail. Starting with the captain and coach, then moving on to strengths and weaknesses, the boys also throw in a comparable car, probable XI and season prediction. Rajasthan Royals are up first, what are their chances during this season. They feature an explosive batting line up, including Jaiswal, Buttler, Samson and Hetmyer, as well as quality bowlers like Boult. However, might they be exposed at the death? Mumbai Indians have a god squad. The sky is the limit for Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Tim David, Rohit Sharma, etc. But will a captaincy change cause trouble? Sunrisers Hyderabad finished bottom last season, but they went shopping in the auction and now things could change. Lead by Pat Cummins the team also features Hasaranga and Klaasen, but their domestic core is not as exciting as other sides.
