Wednesday Evening Service - September 17, 2025 - Pastor James
In this episode of The Pursuit with James Griffin, the team continues through Ecclesiastes and tackles one of life's hardest truths: death. Scripture calls death “the last enemy,” yet for the believer it's also a doorway into God's presence. Pastor James unpacks why death hurts, how Jesus has defeated it, and why it should radically change how we live today. You'll hear why life is not a dress rehearsal, why “a living dog is better than a dead lion,” and three ways followers of Jesus can live differently. If you're wrestling with regret, fear of death, or questions about purpose, this conversation offers both honesty and hope.SHOW NOTESThese notes are packed with key insights and scripture to help you know and follow Jesus – https://mycpcc.com/notes148To submit a question, send us a DM on Instagram or Facebook.Crosspoint City Church exists to relentlessly pursue those far from God to help them know and follow Jesus. Ephesians 6:11-13Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

In this powerful and timely sermon, Pastor James explores the subtle dangers of spiritual deception in today's world, drawing a striking comparison between modern financial scams and the false teachings that infiltrate the church. Rooted in the book of Jude, the message challenges believers to “contend for the faith” by recognizing and resisting distorted versions of grace that downplay holiness, community, and accountability. With urgency and compassion, Pastor James calls the church to rise up—not just for personal spiritual survival, but to fight for one another in love. He reminds us that while the battle for truth is real, we are not alone: Jesus is our keeper, able to guard us and present us blameless. This sermon is both a warning and a promise, urging believers to stay vigilant, build each other up, and remain anchored in the true grace of God.

Pastor James Crawford delivered a heartfelt sermon on unity, drawing from Romans 15. He passionately urged the congregation to set aside pride and theological differences to work together as the body of Christ in a spiritually dark world. Reflecting on his experience at a Turning Point Pastor Summit, James shared how pastors from diverse backgrounds united for liberty and God's plan, despite tensions over church size or theology. He emphasized that believers are called to bear one another's burdens, as Christ did, and to engage in humble, constructive dialogue rather than division. Through personal anecdotes about his broken home and encounters with church scandals, James highlighted the transformative power of grace, using Paul's conversion as a vivid example. This sermon, rooted in Godspeak's anchored reading program, challenges believers to live out their faith actively, fostering unity to glorify God and impact culture effectively.Reference Verses:Romans 15 verses 1–7, Psalm 69 verse 9, Romans 15 verses 8–13, Psalm 18 verse 49, Deuteronomy 32 verse 43, Isaiah 11 verse 10, Acts 9 verses 3–4, Acts 9 verse 27, Ephesians 4 verse 3, Romans 3 verses 1–31, Romans 4 verses 1–25, Romans 5 verse 12, Romans 8 verses 1–39, Romans 9 verses 1–33, Romans 13 verses 1–14, Romans 16 verses 17–20, Ephesians 4 verses 11–16, 1 Corinthians 13 verse 2Make sure you subscribe to this channel and follow us on all our platforms to always stay up to date with our latest content! And you can always head over to our website for any general information! https://godspeak.com Prayer/NeedsIf you have any needs, or have a willingness to be used to meet various need in the body, please email info@godspeak.com. Are we in full agreement with God's calling? We must have the right attitude about His direction. We shouldn't have contingencies for following Jesus—we have to be one hundred percent ok with what He asks, because we know He will equip us for it! Imagined how blessed our lives would be if we stopped fighting God and simply said “Yes” to Him right away. Let's fully trust and follow the Lord our Savior!
