Hebrews 5:1-10 “When God Feels Far Away”Series: Jesus is Greater Than Preacher: Will SpinkSunday MorningDate: 22nd February 2026Passage: Hebrews 5:1-10
Are you tired of constantly striving, feeling 'soul tired' and exhausted by the demands of life? Our new series, "Greater Than," dives into the powerful book of Hebrews to show you that everything you've been chasing is a lesser substitute for the one thing that can truly hold your life together: Jesus. In the first two weeks, we explore why Jesus is greater than the prophets, who only delivered fragments of God's message, and why He is greater than Moses and the Law of "work to get rest." Discover the key to stopping the drift, receiving "soul rest," and living a life anchored in the truth that the Builder of the Universe has already finished the work for your salvation.
Join us on #TexasValuesReport with special guest Katy Faust, Founder of Them Before Us, & host Jonathan Saenz, President & Attorney for Texas Values, as they discuss the campaign Greater Than, a campaign with the goal of ultimately overturning Obergefell; the 2015 redefinition of marriage in Obergefell v. Hodges, which effectively made mothers and fathers optional in law and culture. Greater Than the G.O.A.T.Hebrews 3:1–6Who's the Greatest of All Time?In football, fans argue over quarterbacks. In basketball, it's Jordan or LeBron. In soccer, Messi or Ronaldo. Every generation debates its heroes. Today we're asking that same question—but for the Bible. If you had asked a first-century Jewish believer, the answer would have been simple: Moses. He wasn't just a leader. He was the prophet, the lawgiver, the deliverer, the mediator. If you had Moses, you had everything. But Hebrews chapter 3 makes a bold claim: Jesus is greater. The Pressure to Go BackThe book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians under intense pressure. They were facing persecution and social rejection. Following Jesus wasn't easy. Going back to Judaism—to Moses—looked safer. Can you relate? Sometimes faith costs something. Maybe it's awkward conversations at work. Maybe it's tension in your family. In those moments, the “old life” can look comfortable. That's why the author writes:Hebrews 3:1–6 (NLT)“And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God… think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God's messenger and High Priest… Moses was certainly faithful in God's house as a servant… But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God's entire house. And we are God's house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.”Moses was faithful. But Jesus is greater. Why Moses? Because to understand how great Jesus is, you have to understand how great Moses was.1. The Prophet: The Mouthpiece vs. The MessageMoses was the great prophet of Israel—Moshe Rabbenu, “Moses our Teacher.” When God spoke, Moses delivered the mail.At the burning bush, God said:Exodus 3:10 (NLT)“Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”Moses went up the mountain and came down with God's words. He was the mediator. The messenger. But Hebrews tells us something bigger.Hebrews 1:1–2 (NLT)“Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son.”Moses delivered a message. Jesus is the message.Moses told us what God said. Jesus showed us who God is. The difference isn't subtle—it's seismic.2. The Architect: The Snapshot vs. The Whole PictureMoses didn't just speak for God. He shaped a nation. At Sinai, he brought down the Ten Commandments. In a world ruled by tyrants, this was revolutionary. Authority answered to a higher authority. Justice wasn't based on mood; it was rooted in God's character.Even the Sabbath command was radical:“Six days you shall labor… but the seventh day is a sabbath.”In a world of slavery and subsistence farming, rest was unheard of. God declared that human worth wasn't measured by productivity. But even this was just a snapshot.Fifteen hundred years later, Jesus revealed the whole picture:Matthew 22:37–40 (NLT)“‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'… ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”Moses gave structure. Jesus gave fulfillment. The law was never the final word—it was the frame around a greater portrait. Jesus didn't abolish the law; He completed it.3. The Servant: The Old House vs. The New HouseHebrews 3:5 says:“Moses was certainly faithful in God's house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.”An illustration. A preview. A shadow. For centuries, God worked primarily through Israel. Kings like David. Prophets like Elijah and...
Hebrews 4:14-16 “Draw Near the Throne of Grace”Series: Jesus is Greater Than Preacher: Will SpinkSunday MorningDate: 15th February 2026Passage: Hebrews 4:14-16
Greater Than - Hebrews | Intro | Pastor Chris Heller Join us this Sunday as we take off into the clouds and get a higher view of life through the eyes of the author of Hebrews in our new sermon series, “Greater Than.” Throughout this series, we'll take a powerful and faith-building journey that lifts our eyes to the supremacy of Christ and calls us to steadfast endurance. We'll explore how believers can rise above doubt, fix our eyes on Jesus, and soar with confident faith through every season of life—grounded in truth, strengthened by hope, and inspired to live boldly for Him.
In a world constantly defined by what we value—the greater job, the greater house, the greater thrill—what is truly worth chasing? Join us for our new series, "GREATER THAN," as we dive into the passionate, urgent argument of the Book of Hebrews: Jesus is greater than everything. Discover why the first-century church was tempted to drift away from the substance of Jesus for the shadows of religion, and learn the three massive claims about why Jesus is superior to all the old ways. He is the very radiance of God's glory, the exact representation of His being, and the one who effortlessly sustains the entire universe by His powerful word. If Jesus is the Final Word, the only one who can hold your life together, the most dangerous thing you can do is drift away from Him. Find out how to anchor your life in the "Greater Thing" and stop settling for the fragments of a lesser hope.

"Greater Than is a coalition of pastors, parents, influencers, policy makers, theologians, lawyers, students, and normie Americans who are all speaking with one voice. What are we saying? "Don't touch the kids." Marriage does not exist as a tool for adult validation. It is God's Plan A for child protection, and we intend to retake it on their behalf. "Katie Faust Founder of Them Before Us and the Greater Than CampaignSupport the show

In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy Koch unpack why Celebrate Kids has joined the "Greater Than Campaign," a broad coalition led by organizations like Them Before Us, Focus on the Family, and the Colson Center, all centered on one conviction: children's needs come before adult desires. Rather than framing the conversation as political or reactionary, Wayne and Dr. Kathy explain why this issue is fundamentally about children's wellbeing, identity, and long-term flourishing. Drawing from Scripture, research, and lived experience, they clarify that supporting children does not require hostility toward others, but it does require moral clarity and courage. The episode addresses one of the hardest tensions parents and Christians face today: how to affirm the dignity of every person while still advocating for what Scripture and evidence consistently show is best for kids, being raised, whenever possible, by a committed mother and father. Dr. Kathy emphasizes that this is not about attacking anyone's identity, but about being for children in a culture that increasingly asks them to absorb adult choices and consequences. Wayne and Dr. Kathy also speak honestly about the cost of silence. When Christians withdraw from difficult conversations, children are left without advocates. Drawing on Jesus' words in Matthew 19, the episode reframes this moment as one in which believers are called not to win arguments, but to steward the vulnerable, placing kids where Jesus placed them: at the center. This conversation offers parents the language, confidence, and steadiness to navigate these discussions with neighbors, friends, and even their own children. It reminds listeners that hard teachings are still loving teachings, and that standing for kids, even when misunderstood, is one of the clearest ways to reflect Christ in a confusing world. Listeners are encouraged to explore the Greater Than campaign through the show notes and prayerfully consider how they might support efforts that put children first.

It's Wednesday, February 4th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Colombian president denies divinity of Jesus Christ Christians across Colombia recoiled at recent remarks made by President Gustavo Petro. The nation's leader denied that Jesus is Christ, describing Him instead as a “man of light, of truth and a revolutionary.” This public attack on Biblical truth comes as Christians continue to face persecution and physical attacks in the country. Criminal organizations have killed at least 10 pastors in Colombia over the last year. Sadly, the government provides little protection for church leaders. Psalm 2:11-12 warns rulers, “Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” U.S. forces shoot down Iranian drone over Arabian Sea A U.S. fighter jet shot down an Iranian drone as it approached a U.S. aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea on February 3rd, the U.S. Central Command has announced, reports The Epoch Times. The incident comes at a moment of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran. President Donald Trump recently ordered naval forces to the Middle East and has threatened military strikes on Iran if it does not agree to new limits on its nuclear development. The U.S. Central Command, which oversees U.S. military operations in the Middle East, said the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was operating about 500 miles from Iran's southern coast on Tuesday, when U.S. forces spotted what they identified as an Iranian Shahed-139 drone. When the Iranian drone “unnecessarily maneuvered toward” the aircraft carrier, the U.S. Central Command said U.S. forces issued de-escalatory instructions, but the drone continued on its path toward the aircraft carrier. That's when an F-35C Lighting II stealth fighter jet, assigned to the aircraft carrier, intervened and shot down the drone. Thankfully, no American service members were harmed during the incident, and no U.S. equipment was damaged. Conservative candidate wins presidency of Costa Rica Meanwhile in Central America, conservative candidate Laura Fernández Delgado won Costa Rica's presidential election on Sunday. She gave thanks to God following the election victory. Life News reports that Fernández emphasized moral values and the protection of unborn babies during her campaign. She stated, “Defending the lives of Costa Ricans who have not yet been born is an obligation of the State. Abortion is nothing more than murder and, therefore, penalties must be toughened.” Christian groups looking to overturn homosexual marriage In the United States, a coalition of conservative groups launched a campaign last month to overturn Obergefell. The infamous Supreme Court ruling from 2015 legalized faux homosexual marriage. The campaign, known as the Greater Than movement, calls for protecting children from being put in the middle of such unbiblical relations. Listen to comments from Dr. Albert Mohler, president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. MOHLER: “Marriage is actually the most basic institution of human civilization. You redefine marriage, you have just destroyed the house. You can put together a new house and claim it's the same. Children will know the difference. It harms children in virtually every way imaginable.” De-transitioner awarded $2 million The Epoch Times reports a New York jury found a psychologist and plastic surgeon liable for malpractice in a transgender case last week. The doctors supported and performed a double mastectomy on a 16-year-old girl who claimed to be a boy. Fox Varian is 22 now and no longer pretends to be a boy. She was awarded two million dollars in the case. Varian is the first de-transitioner to win such a malpractice lawsuit. Nearly 30 more de-transitioner lawsuits are in process across America. Trump stands with pharmacies for not carrying Abortion Kill Pills The Trump administration is protecting pharmacies from having to carry abortion kill pills. Under the Biden administration, the Department of Health and Human Services required pharmacies serving Medicare or Medicaid patients to carry abortion drugs. The department rescinded that mandate last week. This is part of the government's policy to “end the forced use of Federal taxpayer dollars to fund or promote elective abortion.” Red states are growing and blue states are shrinking The U.S. Census Bureau released its latest Population and Housing Unit Estimates last week. Red states, like Texas, are growing, while blue states, like California, are shrinking. Based on this, the American Redistricting Project released its 2030 Apportionment Forecast of how these demographic trends will affect Congress. Texas and Florida could gain a combined eight congressional seats. Meanwhile, California and New York could lose six seats. 83% of U.S. adults believe in God; 25% attend weekly religious service Pew Research released new analysis of Americans' religious beliefs and practices. The analysis shared the data as if the U.S. population were scaled down to 100 people. In that case, 83 people would believe in God or a universal spirit. Fifty-two would believe in Heaven and Hell. Forty-four would pray daily. Thirty-eight would say religion is very important in their lives. And only 25 would say they attend religious services at least weekly. Romans 11:5 reminds us, “Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” U.S. life expectancy rose to 79 And finally, U.S. life expectancy rose to a record 79 years in 2024. This according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Life expectancy at birth for women rose to 81, and for men it rose to 76. Meanwhile, the age-adjusted death rate decreased nearly four percent from 2023. The increased life expectancy comes after improvements following the COVID-19 pandemic as well as declines in overdose deaths. This week’s message from Hebrews 10:32–39 carries a deeply personal note. Before the sermon, we sang “Walk by Calvary”—a song written by my dad, Dave Garrett. He wasn’t just a pastor; he was a songwriter who lived out Colossians 3:16, letting the Word of Christ dwell richly through hymns and spiritual songs. For me, his words are a heritage of faith, pointing me (and now all of us) back to the cross. He was about centering everything on Christ. I can’t think of a better way to step into Hebrews’ call to remember and endure than by remembering the faithfulness of God through the song of a man who lived it. This sermon is from the "Greater Than" series through Hebrews at La Mirada Christian Church. Listen to the complete series @LaMiradaChurchChannel
Jesus said, “among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist, yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” Too often, we give the highest playback to our lowest performance, but grace reminds us we are doing better than we think. Comparison starves joy and feeds insecurity, but Jesus compares our least to His greatest and still calls us greater. By faith we are made alive with Christ, raised up, and seated with Him in heavenly places. Even when we fumble, God deletes the video and reminds us — “you are Greater Than.” ____ Partner with New Tribe: Give | https://newtribe.church/give/ ____ Connect with New Tribe: Website | https://newtribe.church/comeexperience/ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/newtribechurch Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/newtribechurch YouTube | https://www.youtube.com/newtribechurch

Bryan is a consultant, CMO, and Co-Founder of Brand Castle Growth Partners. He is an expert in driving ROI for growing companies using cutting-edge performance marketing and growth hacking tactics. Amid a plethora of shortsighted, short-term growth strategies, his tactics are based on a big-picture view of the marketing landscape and ecosystem. Bryan's former company Greater Than reached #198 on the Inc. 5000 list in 2022. He's also led brand launches for major companies such as Magic Spoon and The Gap. The Value of an Omnichannel Approach With experience in both retail and cutting-edge digital marketing, Bryan helps his clients take a holistic approach to mastering both channels. For digital companies, e-commerce can help them validate their product and prove to retail buyers that they'll be able to drive foot traffic in stores. Companies that create demand online have more leverage in retail deals. For cash-strapped startups, Bryan recommends starting with e-commerce. There's a low barrier to entry and it's a much faster way to get your brand out there, test your messaging, and get to know your customers. Once you've validated your product and understand your market, expanding to retail can help you reach new people. Building your brand online is essential for retail success. In stores, your sales rely on product placement and packaging. With so many products for customers to choose from, the most reliable strategy is to build your online presence and use influencer marketing. Most retail shoppers choose brands they're already familiar with. At scale, word-of-mouth drives incredible growth in retail. Focus on Your Customers The biggest mistake Bryan sees brands make in both retail and digital marketing is a lack of customer-centricity. Many brands go into retail too aggressively or too early, without getting to know their customers. Often, there's a mismatch between who the company thinks their customer is and who they actually are. For example, most brands think of their competitors in terms of similar products; a protein bar company that competes against other protein bars. But in reality, your product is competing against every other product or distraction that commands your customer's attention. Understanding your ideal customer's lifestyle and what goes on in their daily life is essential–you need to know how your product fits into that picture. That's the starting line.” Links mentioned in this episode: Visit Bryan's website: https://www.brandcastle.co/ Connect with Bryan on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bralston/
