In this episode Jordan, Isaac, and Seim reflect on the release of Isaac's short film, Peace Walker. And a recap on their Thanksgiving.Other topics include -Yu-Gi-OhOne PieceThe Challenger Big BirdTable Manners.
We're back, and this time we're finishing Peace Walker for real. Last time we put a stop to Peace Walker and Hot Coldman, averting a nuclear disaster. Surely chapter 5 will have us doing something equally important, right? Wrong! We've got an escaped Russian prisoner to hunt down over and over again, until finally something dramatic does happen. Perhaps someone is not who they said they were. Perhaps Peace Walker wasn't the only mobile nuclear weapon platform we would have to fight in this game. One things for sure though: we've got some bad news for Kaz about the band he was planning to form. Episode 37: We Were Going to Start a Band!
It's time for us to face Peace Walker one last time, and finally put a stop to Hot Coldman's plans. We also get another healthy dose of characters assuming they know way more about the Boss than they really do. And at the end of it all, it's time for Snake to fully accept his role as Big Boss. Yet, despite all of that, there's still more of this game left. Tune in as we come to the first of Peace Walkers two endings. Episode 35: She's the Clown!
It's time to fight Peace Walker! Except first we have to sneak through a hanger, get captured and tortured, escape, sneak through said hanger AGAIN, and then we fight Peace Walker. Only for it turn spider-mode and run away, the coward. We talk about all of that and still find time to talk about Huey's cringe letter to Strangelove. If you thought Otacon was a bit of loser, wait til you get a load of his dad. Episode 35: Huey's Cringe Letter
Peace Walker continues! It's time to take down two more AI mechs (and then replay the fights for those sweet, sweet Zeke parts). We also get to meet Dr. Strangelove (not the Peter Sellers one unfortunately), and start to learn what her whole deal is. Also: the Boss? Maybe you've heard of her? Well she's here too... sorta. Episode 34: Kojima Kaminandesu
We're back with more Peace Walker! Time to fight the Shagohod, uh, I mean, time to fight Pupa! We also learn a bit more about what's going on in Costa Rica as we meet Otacon's father, and *checks notes* Hot Coldman. Episode 33: Mr. Kojima?
We're back in the hands of Hideo Kojima as we move on from Portable Ops to Peace Walker! Turns out everything we liked about Portable Ops is here, but there's more of it and it's even better. After spending some time away from him, we can really feel Kojima's influence on this one. Join us as we begin our quest to build up Outer Heaven and find out what the CIA is doing in Costa Rica. Episode 32: Portable Ops Plus
Not even a battery failure could keep us from finishing Portable Ops! We finally learn what Gene's goals are (and you just know Big Boss is taking notes), have a shocking revelation about the events of MGS3, catch a few glimpses of our boy Ocelot, and stop a nuclear war or something, but that's not as important. Join us next time for Peace Walker! Episode 31: Electronic Mail

📱 Twitter: @ReconectadosPod Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ReconectadosPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/reconectadospod/ Jabote: @Jabote22 Manu: @ManuGmn

After rattling off a few quick mentions such as Breath of the Wild, Alan Wake Remastered, and Sackboy's Big Adventure, we finally take a deeper dive into Inscryption. This game is a card-based deck builder that finds really creative ways of blending with elements of atmospheric horror and escape room design. Nolan has continued his Metal Gear run by jumping into Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker which seems like it may be the strangest entry in the beloved franchise. Of course, we also answer questions from our supporters which leads to some diverse and fun discussions.
In today's Daily Fix, Tokyo Game Show is in full swing, and two of of Japan's biggest gaming companies showed us the goods. Well, unless you were looking for anything related to Final Fantasy 16. That's right, Square Enix revealed a new demo for its Final Fantasy 1 remake, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins. Tactical RPG Triangle Strategy got a new story trailer, which is neat. The game looks great and the team's previous game, Octopath Traveler, was a solid throwback RPG with a gorgeous art style. And the director of classic Final Fantasies 6, 9, and 12 is back with a new game called Dungeon Encounters, which is a dungeon exploration RPG. Cool! And Konami (remember them?) might just be giving the fans what they want and making new Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Metal Gear games. The current rumors involving Metal Gear aren't exactly brand new games but remasters of the older Metal Gear Solid games. However, there also may be a full-on remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in the works. Exciting! We hope this is true, as it's actually a little difficult to play the older MGS games on newer consoles, especially if you're playing on a PS5 (backward compatibility issues and whatnot). How about also giving us new remasters of Peace Walker and Acid? And, if I may be so bold, a remaster of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes? Finally, Bandai Namco gave us a refresh of its company logo. And it's...kind of...okay? It definitely looks like a text bubble in a messaging app. Or a neon sign in front of a 90's-era arcade. And the logo wasn't all that was updated. Bandai Namco also revealed a new slogan for the company, "Fun for All into the Future." Guess that makes sense? What should Bandai Namco's new company slogan be? Put your best ones in the comments! It's your Daily Fix!

With Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain the big video game release of the past week, this week's episode dives into the history of the entire Metal Gear Solid series, as we look back on every major entry in the franchise from the original Metal Gear Solid on the PSOne all the way to Peace Walker on the PSP. If nothing else, this is an endlessly fascinating franchise, and there is plenty to discuss and debate as we take a walk down twenty years of video game memory lane.

Metal Gear Solid to seria z ponad 25-letnim dorobkiem. Najpierw Nox zrecenzuje Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, a następnie razem z Serferem podyskutują o zmianach, jakie wprowadzono w serii wraz z nadejściem Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, czyli prologu do piątej jej odsłony.

Virtual Reality seems to be the big "it" thing recently. Last week we learned about Sony's Project Morpheus and today we got the bombshell news about Facebook buying Oculus VR. With this in mind, how could we NOT delve into the subject? We discuss whether VR is the true next step in gaming or if it's another fad like 3D and motion controls. We also discuss some of the original content posted on the site including our reviews of inFAMOUS: Second Son, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and The Witcher #1 and our editorials about The Last of Us film adaptation, Metal Gear Solid 3 and why Final Fantasy X-2 deserves more love. We also discuss Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and Peace Walker because we really can't go one week without talking about the MGS franchise on the ShockCast. This week I was joined by Staff Writers Ryan Meitzler and Jorge Jimenez. Thanks as always to @elblanconino for our custom intro and outro tracks. Today on the 5: I've been playing through the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and I was going to skip the PSP entry called Peace Walker until I read about how closely it ties into MGS3. Playing through it was definitely the right call.

What on earth is the Out-Cast? Well, this was a series of podcasts I did back in 2010~2012 on videogames and videogame culture in Japan for an old website with a completely different crew. I'm republishing them here on DecultureShock, but for anyone who is interested, the original website can be found here. http://www.decultureshock.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/The-Out-Cast-ep08b.mp3 Well, this is our first try splitting up the podcast. In this way, we are giving you a podcast of a more manageable length and at the same time giving you content more frequently. If you like the idea and think it works or think its a bad idea, please tell us so in the comments section. Mailbag Special! What are the taboo topics in games in Japan? What are your thoughts on Infamous 2? What do you think of the 2010 summer anime season? How should I go about learning Japanese? Don't you think you're being a bit to hard on the Japanese? Why is High School life so romanticized? What should I buy to support the anime industry? Why is Dragon Quest more popular than Final Fantasy in Japan? What do you think of the Final Fantasy Versus XIII pictures? What Japanese music do you recommend? Will the Out-Cast Team be at TGS? Is there anyway to watch TGS? What is Akihabara like? What are Hikikomori and Neets? How was Peace Walker for Kyle? Will we do dedicated special podcasts on big name titles? Do we get paid for making the Out-Cast? What kind of mic are you using? Can the Out-Cast become bi-weekly? What's with the secrecy on our jobs? What is the deal with working in Japan? How can I get a job in the games industry in Japan?
