Tim Worthington has a new book out called The Golden Age Of Children's TV - all about the best, worst and most just plain baffling shows you grew up with in the sixties, seventies and eighties - and the lines are open now for an hour of fun, facts, laughs and thrills. Jane Hill will be joining us live from a Bring And Buy Sale and trying to keep Petra off the counter as she takes a look at Blue Peter. Melanie Williams is heading down the Helter-Skelter faster and faster towards Cuckooland and dropping by for a chat about Jamie And The Magic Torch. Phil Norman will be taking a look behind the scenes at a programme that more often than not took a look behind the scenes at itself in Pipkins. Una McCormack is on hand to take us on a tour of The Manor in search of The Children Of Green Knowe, and Grace Dent will be taking us through what she's found in the window of Emily's shop in Bagpuss. So if you want to join in the fun - or just swap a Boots Bagpuss Pyjama Case for a copy of The Blue Peter Book Of Teddy's Clothes - ring the show now!You can get The Golden Age Of Children's TV in all good bookshops, and from Amazon here, Waterstones here or directly from Black And White Publishing here - and if you want to know more about what you can find in it, head for timworthington.org!

David Brown was born in Roanoke in 1967. His early exposure to live music came courtesy of his parents, who took him to see Ike and Tina Turner, the Eagles, and other iconic acts in the early 1970s. With a mother who played piano exceptionally well and parents who enjoyed popular music, David's childhood was filled with the sounds of Janis Joplin, The Doobie Brothers, Neil Diamond, Ann Murray, and a variety of tunes from FM radio. His fascination with drums began at the age of 10, and in 1980, David met Kelly Scott, Jody Ensor, and John Ayers, who became pivotal figures in his drumming journey. Encouraged by his mother, David delved into drumming, idolizing Neil Peart and Rush while also participating in his high school band. David's musical journey took a significant turn when he enrolled at Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee, in the late 1980s. There, he immersed himself in music theory, private lessons, and the vibrant live music scene, enriching his musical palette. Since the mid-1980s, David has been deeply involved with various local bands, including Hoppie Vaughan, Phil Norman, Cory Brammer, Foundation Stone, and Kerosene Willy, among others. However, his true passion lies in collaborating with fellow musicians who craft original songs, making it his favorite aspect of musical involvement.

Meanwhile, the UK Immigration Enforcement outlines exceptional cases in which staff might use a translation device instead of on-site or telephonic interpreting. In Canada, the Board of Internal Economy (BOIE), has approved a six-month pilot project that allows the use of “external” and “remote” interpreters for parliamentary sessions. The duo talk about a EUR 42m contract that popped up in Slator's own RFP Center from the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons. New guidance in Australia was published by the health department that clarified how medical professionals and GPs should bill interpreting services when they require an extended consultation. In an article, Haris Ghinos, Project Leader for ISO 23155, summarized what conference interpreting service providers need to know about the new ISO standard.

Joining me on today's show is Phil Norman, who is head of production at The Uncommon, the UK's number one producer of English wine in a can. With a French mother and family ties in Burgundy, Phil has never been far away from fine food and wine. He studied viticulture and enology in the mid noughties whilst completing an apprenticeship alongside Denis Bachelet in Gevrey Chambertin.Since then he has worked at vineyards in France, New Zealand and the UK, including Nyetimber in Sussex and The Grange in Hampshire, where he had a hand in producing award winning English sparkling wine.In 2016, Phil began helping Henry Connell and Alex Thraves set up pioneering sustainable English wine brand, The Uncommon, and joined the team full time earlier this year, just as the company achieved B Corporation status – the first winemaker in the UK to do so. We talk about the importance of sustainability in the English wine industry, why creativity is so crucial to building a brand and the age-old argument of which sparkling is best – French or English? This was a win that rewarded Phil with a 50% share of a £1500 prize pot. I was so excited to talk to him as what I already knew about his story was inspiring. What took place in the next 50 minutes of talking to him was nothing short of inspirational. For many athletes in the UK, they have to make sacrifices in their own lives to make it to the top. Phil is no exception to this and one of the main sacrifices that he has had to make is explain in this podcast. Who is this podcast aim at? I'd heard about this guys years before and he was more of an urban myth, one of the original guys to regularly visit LA and train at the world famous Inosanto academy, he then disappears for a number of years.. then reappears when he's literally achieved mythic status. If that wasn't enough, he then proceeds to post grainy footage of the pioneers of the UK JKD scene from old VHS that he's kept for years. Personally, for me, it's been a treat to watch a young Phil Norman looking like Sensi Terry Silver from karate kid, the ageless Rick Young making me more certain he's the Benjamin Button of martial arts and finally the late Guro Colin Sherred looking every inch of the giant he was. Steve is back where he belongs, training, inspiring and teaching and being a great advert for progression as I follow his journey back with Guro Phil Norman in both JKD Kali elite and Ghost... a truly wonderful and lovely guy..
