CDs der vergangenen Wochen und Monate denkt. Mit der Nacht in der Musik hat sich nun auch Pablo Ferrández beschäftigt, und das, obwohl er laut eigener Aussage ein ausgesprochener Morgenmensch ist. Träumerische Melodien von Schumann, Schubert, Liszt, Debussy, Chopin, Ponce und Dvořák hat der junge Cellist Ferrández teils in Originalbearbeitungen, teils in Eigenarrangements mit Orchester- oder Klavierbegleitung aufgenommen. Mit den Rokoko-Variationen von Peter Iljitsch Tschaikowsky findet die CD aber auch einen ganz und gar nicht nächtlichen Höhepunkt, aus musikalischer Sicht aber völlig irrelevant…„Einer der Gründe, weshalb ich so gerne Lieder spiele, ist, dass wir mit dem Cello immer zu singen versuchen.“ So wird Pablo Ferrández im Beiheft der CD zitiert und genau das gelingt ihm auch in den unterschiedlichen Bearbeitungen auf dieser CD. Schon bei Rusalkas Lied an den Mond zur Eröffnung oder auch Schuberts Nacht und Träume. „Heil'ge Nacht, du sinkest nieder; Nieder wallen auch die Träume, wie dein Mondlicht durch die Räume, durch der Menschen stille Brust.“ Da ist er wieder, der Mond. Schumanns Träumerei oder der dritte Liebestraum von Liszt fügen sich genauso ins Spektrum und erhellen den musikalischen Nachthimmel, wie der kleine Stern Estrellita des mexikanischen Komponisten Manuel Ponce. Selten genug, dass das Hauptwerk einer CD, wie hier die Rokoko-Variationen von Tschaikowsky, zur Zugabe mutiert. Makellos und musikantisch gelingen die sieben Variationen auf ein Rokoko-Thema, wobei auch das Schwedische Kammerorchester unter Martin Fröst seinen Anteil daran hat. Aufmerksam wie die sprichwörtlichen Haftlmacher begleiten die Musikerinnen und Musiker und legen so ein Fundament, auf dem es sich wunderbar solieren lässt! Das Finale ist dabei ein feingezeichnetes Feuerwerk, bei dem sich Orchester- und Solostimme herrlich ineinander verschränken. (mg)

BEST OF: The 2024 MTV VMA was another example of a powerful religious-cult operating through entertainment to influence society. Taylor Swift was awarded Video of the Year, Sabrina Carpenter won Song of the Year, Katy Perry won the Vanguard Award and performed a gravity defying song, and Megan Thee Stallion performed Mamushi with Yuki Chiba. Swift has stayed in the news for her endorsement of Kamala Harris, and when winning her aware she thanked her boyfriend Travis Kelce who may also now be encouraged to endorse Harris - recall other were involved with ERAS-ERIS, the goddess of discord. But Taylor Swift isn't as powerful as she may seem, certainly not to make her own decisions. Not only has she called out the Soros family for stripping her of music rights but most of her music itself is written by someone else. Jack Antonoff was behind ‘Look What You Made Me Do', and countless other songs not to mention his work with Lana Del Rey, Aaron Dessner was behind Willow, and countless other songs, and both Max Martin and his protege Shellback contribute heavily to her discography. People like Martin have been operating in the music industry for decades, writing dozens of hits - 26 Number One hits - for everyone from the Backstreet Boys and Brittany Spears (Hit Me Baby One More Time), to Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. Further, he obtains the lyrics and beats through a sort of channeling. Even Elton John does this through mixing word cutouts to write songs. In the world of comics we find an equivalent character in Alan Moore, a magician behind iconic works like V For Vendetta and Watchmen. Moore is also open about his worship of a Greco-Roman snake god named Glycon, a deity of oracle and moneymaking. The difference between obtaining influence from the MUSES or power from unconscious DEMONS is what the byproduct of the contract is: beauty or ugliness. The song Mamushi features the profaning of and degrading not of America but of Japan, as Thee Stallion encourages Japanese girls to be promiscuous and lure men to their death. In the song, Megan literally is naked on a rock like a Siren, in a sacred Onsen, where she then pollutes the purifying water and transforms into a Mamushi snake to kill a man. A 2023 song by Sabrina Carpenter was filmed in a church and her video was so perverse and disgusting the priests had to re-bless the altar when she left. These images are far different than the music, sculptures, and paintings of artists throughout history. Karfreitag ist vorbei. Und an den allermeisten Menschen unserer Zeit geht der Kreuzestod Jesu schon lange vorbei. Das muss nicht so bleiben, finden Thorsten und Andi. Obwohl die beiden schon seit Jahrzehnten über den Tod Jesu nachdenken und publizieren, stellen sie in dieser Folge erneut die Frage: Warum und wozu ist Jesus Christus gestorben? Den ersten Christ:innen wurde diese Frage förmlich zugemutet. Als ihnen Jesus als der Auferstandene erschienen war, begannen sie auf kreative Weise damit, seinen Tod als göttliches Handeln zugunsten und zum Heil der Menschen zu deuten. Dabei konnten sie weder auf Erklärungen Jesu noch auf die Tradition zurückgreifen. Thorsten und Andi stellen die Vielfalt an Bildbereichen und Metaphern vor, mit deren Hilfe das Neue Testament den Tod Jesu theologisch deutet. Was können wir von der Bibel heute lernen? Ab wann steht die Theologie in der Gefahr, die neutestamentliche Vielfalt durch eine Kreuzeslehre zu harmonisieren oder gar einzuebnen? Und was steckt hinter dem Begriff der Sühne und des Sühnetodes? Was bedeutete es, wenn die Menschen des Alten Testamentes ihre Sühnopfer darbrachten? Thorsten und Andi fassen viele Einsichten der neueren Exegese zusammen, um zu zeigen: Das Sühnopfer ist keine Leistung des Menschen gegenüber Gott, um ihn zu besänftigen, zufriedenzustellen oder versöhnlich zu stimmen. Schliesslich dreht sich alles um die klassisch gewordene Satisfaktionslehre des Anselm von Canterbury. Was war die erstaunliche Kreativleistung hinter diesem Zugang? Wie gelang es Anselm, das Kreuz Jesu für den Kontext seiner Zeit neu verstehbar zu machen? Wie entwickelte sie sich weiter zu einer fragwürdigen Lehre vom stellvertretenden Strafleiden Jesu? He says the only way he doesn't die is when he dyes his hair. So is this the GOD he made a deal with for "favor" the God of Heaven or Hell ? It is interesting to note that when it comes to mind control and programming, another West, Dr. Jolyon West, ran the psychiatric department at UCLA, where through the CIA, among others, mind control experiments were conducted. When seeing that Kanye refers to himself as genius, Rain Main or even Jesus, something that has not changed in the new album, then rather than being saved by Jesus, it seems he's been re-birthed by the infernal Yeezus, or anti-Jesus. He has been reprogrammed. His attitude otherwise has not changed either and at the very least he's tapped into a profitable christian market. His music and discography also contains numerous references to the number 8, three of which, 888, is the Greek numerical equivalent to Jesus. This EP is a great conversation with two good friends of mine and national treasures of Canadian Sport.  Dom Gauthier competed as a Mogul Skier in the late 90s and was an Olympian in Nagano Japan in 1998.  He went on to become the coach of the Japanese National Team and then became the private coach of Jenn Heil and Alexandre Bilodeau where he was integral in their mutual success in Torino and Vancouver.  He became a founding member of the B2Ten foundation, supporting many Canadian Olympians and the success of Canadian Olympic sports for almost 20 years.  Jenn Heil is one of the winningest Mogul Skiers, both male and female, of all time. She has won multiple World Championships and many World Cup gold medal podiums throughout her career. She won Olympic Gold in 2006 at Torino, and Silver at the Vancouver Games. She's gone on to finish a bachelor's degree at McGill University and an MBA at Stanford University and is now building a business focused on women's health care.Together they are a power couple in Canadian sport, they have two growing boys, and they are dedicated to the improvement of sport and health in Canada. More recently Jenn has been named the Chef de Mission for the 2026 Olympic Games in Cortina, Italy.  I was honored to sit down with them both and catch up on life since retiring from competitive sports.
