(What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis (1995)  On this week's episode of Totally 80's and 90's Recall, Dave and Rob are rewinding back to 1995 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis' landmark album What's the Story Morning Glory. Track by track, they'll unpack the record that turned the Gallagher brothers from local Manchester heroes into worldwide rock icons. From the swaggering punch of “Roll With It” to the tender emotion of “Wonderwall” and the anthemic rise of “Don't Look Back in Anger,” the guys will revisit the songs that defined Britpop and made Oasis the voice of a generation Of course, no Oasis deep dive is complete without talking about the band's legacy and the Gallagher brothers themselves. Dave and Rob will weigh in on how Morning Glory cemented Oasis' place in rock history, with its blend of stadium-ready choruses, Beatles-inspired melodies, and raw attitude. They'll also highlight the brilliance and madness of Noel and Liam Gallagher—their creative spark, their infamous feuds, and the unpredictable energy that made Oasis larger than life both on and off the stage. And now, with the band reuniting in 2025 for a massive world tour after splitting in 2009, the timing couldn't be better to reflect on just how much Oasis still matters Pandora: https://pandora.app.link/iq8iShjXOLb   Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/totally-80s-and-90s-recall/id1662282694    Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/11dk5TUoLUk4euD1Te1EYG?si=b37496eb6e784408    Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/1960c8f9-158d-43ac-89a6-d868ea1fe077/totally-80s-and-90s-recall    YouTube Podcasts: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLH9lGakNgCDZUkkHMUu88uXYMJu_33Rab&si=xo0EEVJRSwS68mWZ   Playlists:   Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0AtsvIUajFCX2M4LuqaO1E?si=QCJY6QO2Rq6PRCdR_y2EpQ    Apple: https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/oasis-live-2025-setlist/pl.u-e98l3zLhWq6EDx?ls   Contact Us: Website: https://totally80s90srecall.podbean.com/  Email: 80s90srecall@gmail.com LinkTree:https://linktr.ee/80s90srecall

Longtime listeners of our show know that The Wolf is an unabashed American Oasis fan. Though he wasn't onboard from the jump, once he discovered the melodies and lyrics of Noel Gallagher, he became a true believer ready to fly the Oasis flag in an attempt to convert more US fans. But Oasis were more of a phenomenon in the UK thanks to a new liberal government, the rise of Brit Pop and Cool Britannia while they were just a couple of foul-mouthed heathens against the grunge-dominated US. However, their 2nd album, What's The Story Morning Glory, is one of the best selling records in the history of the UK and did enjoy strong success in the US. From the opening track Hello (a great way to start an album and concert) to the light and popular Champagne Supernova, Oasis created a juggernaut that was ready to explode after the success of their debut, Definitely Maybe. And while Some Might Say and Don't Look Back in Anger would go on to be the first two #1 hits for the band in the UK, while Wonderwall would become known as one of the biggest pop/rock songs in UK history, you can't tell the full story of the album without the b-sides. Made during the heyday of CDs and CD singles, everytime the band released a new single they gave their fans 4 songs - basically an EP every couple of months. Included in these releases are some amazing songs like Acquiesce (perhaps the greatest b-side of all time), Talk Tonight, Rocking Chair, Masterplan and an amazing version of Cum on Feel The Noize. The 2014 re-release captures all those songs and more and is highly recommended by The Wolf to stream or buy. Obviously Noel Gallagher went through an incredibly creative period using different styles like the hard rocking Morning Glory, fun and jangling She's Electric, and foot stomping Roll With It. On their current world reunion tour, they play 8 songs off the album and 3 more b-sides from the era. Their epic performance at Glastonbury reflected how far the band had come in 2 short years from just learning the songs to being the biggest rock band on the planet. As it turns 30 and the boys are out on their victory lap tour, we take some time to dial into all the songs, the difference between their success in the UK vs the US and ponder what the future might hold for the brothers Gallagher. The soundtrack features many Indian musicians like Aashish Khan, Shivkumar Sharma, Shankar Ghosh, and Mahapurush Misra, It also features The Remo Four, Eric Clapton, and Ringo Starr.Ironically, the Oasis song that shares the same name helped renew interest in the film even though the song "Wonderwall" does not sound anything like the music that Harrison created for Wonderwall. For more information on Kula Shaker:LinkTreeInstagramCharge of the Light Brigade (video)Broke as Folk (video)Soundtrack Your Life SocialsBlueskyInstagramWriting SiteYouTubePatreon

For 15 years, (and up until recently) Oasis were officially not a band. In 2009, Noel quit just hours before they were set to play a festival in France. But back then, everyone just assumed Oasis would return the next week, hatchet buried, ready to pick up where they left off; If there’s one thing Oasis were known for it was regularly being on the brink of imploding. From the very start, Liam and Noel were always squabbling over something. Very public spats were just something they did. Fast forward to 2025, Oasis are back playing live shows again, heading across the world on a reunion tour that includes two shows in Toronto. Of course, Oasis were known for writing big rock anthems in the ‘90s and 2000s - but there is one song of theirs that was bigger than the rest: A ballad that has become customary to learn for everyone that owns an acoustic guitar. I’m talking about “Wonderwall,” a song Noel Gallagher wrote about his imaginary friend. This is the true story of Oasis's Wonderwall with newly unearthed audio from Noel and Liam Gallagher themselves. Written by Cam Lindsay for iHeartRadio.

The Oasis reunion at Wembley Stadium on July 25, 2025, was a night that will be long remembered by fans and music lovers alike. Anticipation buzzed through the air long before the doors opened, as generations of fans gathered under clear summer skies, transforming Wembley Way into a living tribute to Britpop's heyday. The event marked not just a concert, but a celebration—one capturing the spirit of an era and the enduring appeal of the Gallagher brothers' music. From the support acts to the final encore, the evening was a testament to Oasis's profound cultural footprint. Opening with spirited performances from Cast and Richard Ashcroft, the atmosphere only grew more electrifying as dusk settled. Vintage footage and iconic Manchester imagery set the stage, creating an immersive nostalgia trip that connected the audience with the band's roots and musical journey. When Liam and Noel Gallagher finally took the stage, any lingering doubts about their reunion vanished. The band launched into their signature hits, each song met with a stadium-sized chorus as 90,000 voices became one—belting out “Morning Glory,” “Supersonic,” and “Wonderwall” with raw energy. The sibling banter was on display, but so was a genuine affection, making the set both powerful and personal. Emotion reached its peak during “Don't Look Back in Anger” and a moving tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, moments that reminded everyone of the music's power to unite and heal. The closing fireworks during “Champagne Supernova” were more than spectacle—they marked the realization of countless fans' dreams, and a hopeful promise for the future of British rock. This episode isn't just a concert review; it's an invitation to relive a cultural milestone. From backstage anecdotes and crowd vibes to unexpected heartfelt moments on stage, listeners will feel as if they stood shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow fans, singing their hearts out and believing, however briefly, that glory days can return.

Is mise Liam Ó Brádaigh.Tháinig na deartháireacha Gallagher ar ais le chéile an tseachtain seo don chéad ceolchoirm dá gcamchuairt aontaithe. Ba é seo an chéad léiriú ó Oasis ó scar an banna sé bliana déag ó shin. Sna blianta idir an dá linn, bhí achrann cáiliúil idir na deartháireacha Gallagher agus bhí amhras ann go mbeadh siad in ann seinm le chéile arís choíche. Ach an tseachtain seo, bhailigh sluaite díograiseacha le chéile chun an banna a fheiceáil agus chun canadh in éineacht le Wonderwall agus Don't Look Back in Anger. Cáineadh an chamchuairt roimhe seo as córas praghsála dinimiciúil a úsáid inar ardaíodh costas na dticéad de réir an éilimh. But everyone knows that there are two surefire ways to ruin a good party. One is vampires. We hate that. All they do is stand outside begging to come in all night. It can really put a damper on the evening. But the other, and arguably much worse, party buzz kill is a guy with an acoustic guitar. Nothing sucks the life out of the room like a guy named Blake struggling through Wonderwall. Not even vampires. On second thought, let the vampires in. Oasis, the Manchester band led by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, conquered the charts in the 1990s with rock anthems like "Wonderwall." This month, they did something no one saw coming: Announced a reunion. In 2025, the band will play 19 dates in five cities across the UK and Ireland, their first shows with both brothers in the lineup since breaking up in 2009 due to long-simmering tensions between them. Formed in 1991 with Noel as chief songwriter and guitarist and Liam as lead vocalist, the band helped define the sound of Britpop alongside peers like Blur, Suede, and Pulp. Noel's and Liam's feuding made it seem like the band would never reunite, so this upcoming tour has generated a minor frenzy, resulting in insane ticket prices, the band's songs surging in popularity on streaming services, and countless diehard fans zipping up their parkas in anticipation.  As two casual listeners to the band, we want to understand the hype behind this long-awaited reunion, so we went through the band's catalog to uncover what makes this working-class Mancunian outfit so beloved, and see whether we can learn to love Oasis.
