On this episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids and Tom are given unprecedented access inside England's World Cup training camp as they go behind the scenes with Thomas Tuchel's squad ahead of a huge quarter-final against Norway. After England's unforgettable victory over Mexico, the lads witness first-hand the togetherness that's driving this squad, with Peter receiving an emotional England Legacy Cap presented by Harry Kane in front of the entire team.Pete also chats with Harry Kane to relive the incredible night at the Azteca, discussing the celebrations, the emotional Wonderwall moments with England fans, the challenges of tournament life, and why this squad feels different to any England team before it. The captain opens up about the adrenaline of knockout football, family life during the World Cup and what it really feels like to carry the hopes of a nation. The boys are then joined by Dan Burn and Morgan Rogers, who reveal what life is really like inside England's camp. They discuss the unforgettable atmosphere inside the Azteca, what it's like waiting for your chance in tournament football, the incredible togetherness within the squad, and why every player—whether they start or come off the bench—has such an important role to play. The pair also lift the lid on life away from the pitch, from games of Traitors, golf and basketball to the debates and laughs that have helped make England's training base feel like a home away from home. There's plenty of classic TPCP nonsense too, as the production team set Pete, Sids and Tom a brutal all-you-can-eat sandwich buffet challenge, before another Paddy Power Predictions League update, plenty of laughs from inside England HQ, and an emotional farewell (for now) to Tom as he heads back to the UK after an unforgettable month on the road with the boys.As always, let us know your predictions in the comments below... In 1995, the British band Oasis released one of their biggest hits as a single from their number one album: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? The song Wonderwall was a departure from their usual music, but it has gone on to be one of their most successful songs and was a top 10 hit in 15 countries. It has also become an anthem for the British public and has become a key part of England's 2026 World Cup campaign. Nick Brine was the sound engineer who worked with the band to record the iconic track at Rockfield Studios. He speaks to Tim O'Callaghan.Witness History is a short BBC World Service podcast about history that takes you inside big moments from the past through first-hand testimony and archive. Each weekday, in around nine minutes, we revisit one moment that helped shape the world and hear it through the voice of someone who was there. Scientists, artists, campaigners, soldiers, leaders and everyday people tell their true stories. When you subscribe to Witness History, you'll be taken inside turning points in world affairs from West Africa's fight back against Boko Haram in 2015 to the behind-closed-doors talks that led to the US-Cuba “thaw” and the surprise announcement of restored relations. You'll discover what it was like to experience disasters and how people recovered from them, including the Tabasco floods in Mexico, Portugal's worst train disaster, and the huge clean-up after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. You'll explore culture and ideas too: Sweden's Expedition Robinson, often credited as the first modern reality TV game show; the friendship between The Beatles' George Harrison and Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar; and the night a tiger attack brought Las Vegas superstars Siegfried and Roy's show to a sudden end.And if you're curious about inventions, we'll tell you how air fryers, BlackBerry, YouTube, Alexa, GPS, superglue, the shopping cart (shopping trolley) and bubble tea were created. If you're new to Witness History, the appeal is simple: real voices, one strong true story, and a fresh way to understand today through events from history – all in the time it takes to enjoy a cup of tea or a walk around the block. Daniel and Jason set Chelsea aside for a night to talk World Cup — the Balogun red card fallout, Trump's fingerprints all over FIFA, and why this might be one of the best tournaments in years. We're taking a break from Chelsea business this week because, frankly, the World Cup has eaten our lives. Between Cape Verde nearly taking down Argentina, England-Mexico going down as one of the matches of the tournament, and an all-time stinker from Spain-Portugal (Roberto Martinez remains undefeated at ruining things), there's been no shortage of storylines. We get into all of it, plus why this tournament — despite the pre-cup doom and gloom about ticket sales and logistics — has turned into a genuine success. The Balogun Red CardThe biggest controversy of the week: Folarin Balogun's red card against Belgium got walked back, letting him play tonight instead of serving his suspension mid-tournament. We go back and forth on this one hard — was it technically a red card by the letter of the law? Probably. Was there any malicious intent? Not even close. We dig into the FIFA rulebook quirk that let this happen (deferring the suspension rather than rescinding it), and why this isn't as unprecedented as people are claiming — Ronaldo got the same treatment earlier in this tournament, and Garrincha's eerily similar situation from the 1962 World Cup gets a full airing.Trump, FIFA, and the Optics ProblemWe can't talk about the Balogun decision without talking about Trump, who wasted no time taking credit for it. FIFA's insistence that an “independent committee” made the call doesn't survive contact with basic FIFA history, and we spend a good chunk of the episode on how corrupt the optics are — even while admitting we're thrilled to have Balogun back for tonight's match. It's a two-minds situation: we know it's shady, and we still want the win.Is This the Best World Cup in Years?Once we get the controversy out of our system, we talk about why this tournament has exceeded every expectation — the crowds, the celebrations (Norway's row routine, England belting out Wonderwall in the Azteca), and the sheer logistics of running a World Cup across a country the size of the United States. We also get into some genuinely bad officiating (the Paraguay-France match deserves its own trial), the golden boot race between Haaland, Messi, Mbappé, and Kane, and — because we couldn't make this up if we tried — Jordan Henderson breaking his arm jumping over an advertising board after the England-Mexico match. We close out with our prediction for USA-Belgium tonight and a look ahead to Friday's match if the US advances. Hour 4: This episode of the podcast is a fun and lively discussion about the USA men's national soccer team, with a dash of American culture and music thrown in for good measure. The host and his co-host dive into the world of sports, music, and patriotism, exploring the ways in which these seemingly disparate topics intersect. The conversation starts with a discussion about the iconic song "Country Roads" and its connection to the USA men's national soccer team. The host shares his own personal experience of singing the song at a Giants game, and the co-host chimes in with his own story of singing "Wonderwall" at a Martin Max bar. The discussion takes a turn when the host and co-host start debating the merits of different American rock and roll songs, with the co-host suggesting "Badlands" by Bruce Springsteen as a potential anthem for the team. The conversation also touches on the topic of patriotism and national pride, with the host and co-host discussing the importance of supporting one's country and its teams. The host even gets a bit feisty, calling out a listener who he feels hasn't been supportive enough of Mexico. While David tries to argue that acting like a toddler is just a sign of being "comfortable" in a relationship, Tom and Krista are ready to stage an intervention. The conversation takes a sharp turn into the "disgusting" reality of UK service stations. Time to break out the winter scarves for this weekend's first big away trip to the chilly confines of Saint Paul. FC Cincinnati makes another heralded trek to Minnesota United, hoping to stitch multiple solid performances together. The Orange & Blue have left their history in the past, winning their last two visits to Allianz Field and leaving all memories of their worst loss ever in the snowdrifts. As much as Cincinnati has kept their roster primarily constant in the offseason, the Loons have endured a very turbulent winter with a roster that looks quite different. The promise of superstar James Rodrigues has been tempered with the uncertainty of new head coach Cam Knowles, but the first match at least brought a point back to their home opener. We talk with Dan from The Loony Bin Podcast to analyze the roster shifts and expectations. Can Minnesota alter the trend of Cincinnati taking the wins? St. Clair said they got loud when Seattle was shooting penalty kicks.“You feel that pressure building as those guys have to run up or walk up from the halfway line. You're walking straight into the Wonderwall. I almost feel like there's a wall behind me and the wall on the line that means no ball's going to go in,” St. Clair said. The team is headed to a second game of the playoffs Nov. 3.Meagan Weber is president of the Dark Clouds, an organized group of nearly 1,000 fans. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis (1995)  On this week's episode of Totally 80's and 90's Recall, Dave and Rob are rewinding back to 1995 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis' landmark album What's the Story Morning Glory. Track by track, they'll unpack the record that turned the Gallagher brothers from local Manchester heroes into worldwide rock icons. From the swaggering punch of “Roll With It” to the tender emotion of “Wonderwall” and the anthemic rise of “Don't Look Back in Anger,” the guys will revisit the songs that defined Britpop and made Oasis the voice of a generation Of course, no Oasis deep dive is complete without talking about the band's legacy and the Gallagher brothers themselves. Dave and Rob will weigh in on how Morning Glory cemented Oasis' place in rock history, with its blend of stadium-ready choruses, Beatles-inspired melodies, and raw attitude. They'll also highlight the brilliance and madness of Noel and Liam Gallagher—their creative spark, their infamous feuds, and the unpredictable energy that made Oasis larger than life both on and off the stage. And now, with the band reuniting in 2025 for a massive world tour after splitting in 2009, the timing couldn't be better to reflect on just how much Oasis still matters Pandora: https://pandora.app.link/iq8iShjXOLb   Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/totally-80s-and-90s-recall/id1662282694    Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/11dk5TUoLUk4euD1Te1EYG?si=b37496eb6e784408    Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/1960c8f9-158d-43ac-89a6-d868ea1fe077/totally-80s-and-90s-recall    YouTube Podcasts: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLH9lGakNgCDZUkkHMUu88uXYMJu_33Rab&si=xo0EEVJRSwS68mWZ   Playlists:   Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0AtsvIUajFCX2M4LuqaO1E?si=QCJY6QO2Rq6PRCdR_y2EpQ    Apple: https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/oasis-live-2025-setlist/pl.u-e98l3zLhWq6EDx?ls   Contact Us: Website: https://totally80s90srecall.podbean.com/  Email: 80s90srecall@gmail.com LinkTree:https://linktr.ee/80s90srecall

Longtime listeners of our show know that The Wolf is an unabashed American Oasis fan. Though he wasn't onboard from the jump, once he discovered the melodies and lyrics of Noel Gallagher, he became a true believer ready to fly the Oasis flag in an attempt to convert more US fans. But Oasis were more of a phenomenon in the UK thanks to a new liberal government, the rise of Brit Pop and Cool Britannia while they were just a couple of foul-mouthed heathens against the grunge-dominated US. However, their 2nd album, What's The Story Morning Glory, is one of the best selling records in the history of the UK and did enjoy strong success in the US. From the opening track Hello (a great way to start an album and concert) to the light and popular Champagne Supernova, Oasis created a juggernaut that was ready to explode after the success of their debut, Definitely Maybe. And while Some Might Say and Don't Look Back in Anger would go on to be the first two #1 hits for the band in the UK, while Wonderwall would become known as one of the biggest pop/rock songs in UK history, you can't tell the full story of the album without the b-sides. Made during the heyday of CDs and CD singles, everytime the band released a new single they gave their fans 4 songs - basically an EP every couple of months. Included in these releases are some amazing songs like Acquiesce (perhaps the greatest b-side of all time), Talk Tonight, Rocking Chair, Masterplan and an amazing version of Cum on Feel The Noize. The 2014 re-release captures all those songs and more and is highly recommended by The Wolf to stream or buy. Obviously Noel Gallagher went through an incredibly creative period using different styles like the hard rocking Morning Glory, fun and jangling She's Electric, and foot stomping Roll With It. On their current world reunion tour, they play 8 songs off the album and 3 more b-sides from the era. Their epic performance at Glastonbury reflected how far the band had come in 2 short years from just learning the songs to being the biggest rock band on the planet. As it turns 30 and the boys are out on their victory lap tour, we take some time to dial into all the songs, the difference between their success in the UK vs the US and ponder what the future might hold for the brothers Gallagher. It's a very smell heavy show today but the aromas aren't good as listeners inform Elis and John of a quite literal VW barrel of eggs and a queasy French exchange tale. Meanwhile Maisie Adam is very very hungover after England's dramatic quarter final win, and Dave gets sacked twice in the first 10 minutes after his lads trip to Mallorca. Of course he sang Wonderwall to some 75 year old couples whilst there. What would you expect?Plus the wallet debate continues as a huge curveball is thrown into the mix, potentially changing John's worldview: What if it's just a bin?To get in touch it's 07974 293 022 on WhatsApp or elisandjohn@bbc.co.ukRemember to head to the Bureau on Saturday morning.
