When you were a boy, did you feel comfortable being your full self?Did you feel at ease around becoming a man -- like you knew what that meant and smoothly moved into that identity? We live in a world where boys and young men often feel like it's not safe to be themselves, and where it can be confusing to grow into manhood.According to Nat Damon, who runs Reach Academy for Young Men, "what boys need is to be seen and heard." And for boys who need healthy role models in terms of what it means to be a mature, healthy man, places like Reach are lifelines.Reach Academy gives boys a place to learn, grow, express themselves, bond with peers, and learn about leadership in a grounded way. Mentors there ask themselves questions like, "How can we help them to see the positive elements of being a man, while at the same time addressing the roots of toxic masculinity?" And, "How do you create a hope-filled atmosphere?"It's more important than ever to have places where people who identify as boys and young men can take the pressure off. Where they can get attuned support, and experience healthy leadership. And where they can be witnessed in whatever it is they're going through. If you're raising a son or sons, or if you have someone who identifies as a boy or young man in your life, you won't want to miss this.Work with usWant to go deeper than the podcast? Jason and I are ready to work with you! We specialize in helping men break old patterns and transform their sex & love lives for good.To see if there's a fit for our flagship program Pillars of Presence, book a call here. Start anytime. (https://evolutionary.men/apply/)---Memorable quotes from this episode:"Boys are growing up feeling more self-conscious and seeking more ways to escape the judgment put on them.""Being a mature man is this ability to be listen and be non-judgmental.""Being interested in other people is fundamental to leadership.""The topic of loneliness is something that we're trying to address head-on.""We were able to exhale."Mentioned on this episode:Reach Academy: reachyoungmen.org

We explored the essence of reconciliation and how being reconciled back to God for our intended purpose is a form of preservation. This is because outside of God, we are doomed to destruction: “who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,” Galatians 1:4 ESV The way that God does this is through us, who are in Jesus. God chooses to bring all things to Himself through Jesus who is in God: “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.” Matthew 9:36-37 NLT Compassion moved Jesus and we should be the same. As workers, we need not be more burdened to be used by God than to we are to meet the needs of the people He is using us for, because the people are God's main concern. How do education boards go about measuring success? And in one of the world's most complex and idiosyncratic education systems, how do you begin to know where to build a career? As Trustee of the Reach Academy Trust and Deputy Chief Executive at the Chartered College of Teaching, Jen Baxter offers wisdom from a lifetime on education boards. Join Jen and Nurole CEO Oli Cummings in a discussion which covers: how to measure success; MAT and Governor roles - the similarities and differences; hiring best practice - the best questions (and answers), and how to balance passion projects with family life.
In the cave of Adullam, David - in his anguish - was met with destiny helpers. Often times, destiny helpers don't come as a finished product; don't disregard other people when they don't have it all together. “Adullam represents the place of testing… Where people are brought to a place where - even when it makes so much more sense to be selfish, even when it makes so much more sense to rest - they are provoked by responsibility.” - Pastor Nii Anum This is the 2nd sermon of a 2-part series titled “Adullam”, which is the cave that David and some men in the bible retreated to, which became a pivotal period in their lives. The issue with purpose is that in the moment when you are weak is when God will place a demand for your strength. However, for those who choose to accept this invitation, it has the power to transform them if they are willing to journey with it. "The world needs people who - through wisdom - have been transformed and use that same power that transformed them to transform others." This is the premier of a 2-part series titled “Adullam”, which is the cave that David and some men in the bible retreated to, which became a pivotal period in their lives. After speaking with REACH Wrestling's Jason King in our last episode, it seemed only fitting to welcome Jason's tag team partner and current REACH Academy champion Jordan Sparkes to the show! Jordan shares his earliest memories and inspirations as a kid growing up discovering wrestling for himself, and how and when he decided to pursue his own in-ring career. We also delve into the 'art of the promo' and Jordan's own experience of trying to hone the perfect heel character. The 'Diamond In The Rough' also discusses the importance of winning the REACH Academy Championship, his favourite matches as a fan and performer (thus far), who he has learned most from in his REACH journey to date and - as is becoming a new tradition - who would make the cut on his own 'Mount Rushmore' of wrestling. Chris turns the spotlight to another gem in the British wrestling circuit, with the first episode delving into Devon-based promotion, REACH Wrestling. It seems only fitting that the first guest is Jason King, one of the two founders of REACH. Jason discusses his earliest wrestling memories and influences, the challenges he faced when deciding to pursue a career between the ropes and learning more about how to successfully build and run his own promotion. Jason also discusses the things that he feels helps to separate REACH Wrestling from a lot of other indy promotions, including their dedication at growing their own talent courtesy of the in-house REACH Academy. As you will soon discover, this is a man who has been dedicated to not only carving his own path in the industry but helping others find and reach their own potential (pun intended). I am sure everyone will agree that Jason's passion for the game is obvious and very contagious! MEET VANESSA "THE WORLD-CLASS PRINCIPAL" This week's episode is entitled “Back to School During COVID Uncertainty” and our guest is Vanessa Khouri-Salazar. She is the Co-founder and Principal of Reach Academy, a dynamic Prep School that continues to think outside the box. Vanessa is married to her amazing husband Javi and has a seven-year-old son that is her reason for ensuring Reach Academy is up to date and always one step ahead. Aunty Vanny, as she is known by all of her students, advises that you start preparing your children for back to school. While we don't know what September will bring, we hope it will be face to face. Some tips she gave us on raising well-adjusted children. 1. Take the kids out and don't let school be the first place they go where they need to interact with others independently 2. Make the kids feel that they are seen and heard. 3. Equip our children with the tools to manage and face the world. The title sums it up pretty well. We review Chaos, Strike & SWW, and have far too much fun in the process (although, you've already heard Dave's talk of dungeons, so this should come as no surprise). We also look ahead to the Reach Academy show, Reach's final Plymouth show of 2019, and UPW. Also featuring the return of Dave's rants, and a bit of a laugh at the Kween's expense.
