Miami Dolphins Tales From The DeepA Baltimore native who played his college football in Warren, New Jersey, Keith Sims would go on to enjoy a standout career as a left guard at Iowa Sate University, which would ultimately land him in the school's Athletics Hall of Fame. In 1990, looking to bolster their offensive line and protect franchise quarterback Dan Marino, the Miami Dolphins selected Sims in the second round of the NFL Draft after also taking left tackle Richmond Webb with their first-round selection. For the next decade, Sims and Webb would anchor the Dolphins offensive line and earn multiple trips to the Pro Bowl, with Sims reaching that height three times from 1993 to 1995. In The Tank, Keith shares how much he enjoyed making up half of the Fins 1-2 punch on the offensive line alongside Richmond Webb for so many years, explains why it might make more sense to take a cab instead of a limo to a game against the Buffalo Bills of the 1990s, recalls a meal that nearly led to him missing the team's flight to Tokyo, and opens up about his struggles with weight and depression following his playing career. Keith also shares how, along with his wife and children, he tours the country as the Soulful RV Family.
Miami Dolphins Tales From The DeepThe Miami Dolphins had high hopes for Richmond Webb when they selected him out of Texas A&M with the ninth overall pick of the 1990 draft and the left tackle not only met, but greatly exceeded all expectations. Charged with protecting Dan Marino's blindside, Webb was an instant starter on the Dolphins offensive line. He played every offensive snap during his rookie year, only giving up two sacks and instantly proving he could go toe-to-toe with divisional rival, Bruce Smith. Webb was so dominant that he was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven seasons, landing a spot on the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. In The Tank, Richmond reveals the great advice he was given by Buddy Ryan at the Senior Bowl, vividly recalls getting sensitive after being taken to task by Dolphins coaching icon Don Shula, shares why he and guard Keith Sims were such a formidable duo, and provides an in the huddle perspective on the greatness of Dan Marino.
