And thats where we are going today.    Proverbs 27:5-7 5 An open rebuke is better than hidden love! 6 Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. 7 A person who is full refuses honey, but even bitter food tastes sweet to the hungry.     We need more than Godly friends in this season of life… we need Godly honest friends who speak truth to us.      1 - Consider the source An open rebuke is better than hidden love! V. 5 Consider the source. The most uncomfortable way… OPEN It's still better than hidden. “Bob you stink as a parent” - in front of everyone. **This is still better than not dealing with the problem in Bobs life or blaming the kids.    When we are on the receiving end of an open rebuke…  We want to excuse the rebuke due to the method or the timing or the person… but wait, it says better an open rebuke than no rebuke at all. Don't let the messenger or the method steal the urgency and the value behind a good rebuke. It could cost you if you don't listen. That rebuke might be the difference between $20 and $20,000,000.    Wether or not that person has earned the right to speak to you… don't miss the point and value of a good rebuke.    Husbands fear when their wives say “honey we need to talk” - why? Because 99% of the time she wants to talk about what he has to change, or what he did wrong or needs to work on. And even in those situations when it is really hard to have open ears to a strong word… you need to.    When someone gives you a rebuke a great way to respond to the situation is ask yourself…  "How did I get here?” Meaning, why are they rebuking me.    1) “Who are my sources? Who am I around?" Are you being rebuked in a Godly way by Godly people? If not why?      2) "What are these associations/sources doing to me?" That's a major question to ask. What have they got me doing, listening to, reading, thinking and feeling? You've got to make a serious study of how others are influencing you, both negatively and positively.   3) "Is this okay?”     In 1964 Bob Hayes was named the fastest man in history. In the 1964 Olympics bringing home the Gold Medal in the 100 meter run, and being clocked at incredible 8.5 seconds in the final 110 yards of 400 meter relay run. After the Olympics, he became an all-pro wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. He would later on be inducted into the USA Olympic HOF and the NFL HOF… at Florida A&M His college coach said that if there had ever been a kid he wished was his, it was Bob Hayes. Yet in 1979 he received a total of 10 years in prison for selling narcotics to an undercover police officer. When coaches and family were interviewed as to how this could happen it came down to this… his inability to choose the right sources to be around.

Woody Johnson went all in but then started making decisions on his own. We talked about Tommy DeVito getting the start on Sunday in front of the home crowd. They had to give the fans something to look forward to. They haven't won a home game yet this season. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and Mark Schlereth cannot believe the Giants bypassed Drew Lock to go to Tommy DeVito.
